  1. I've put snow chains on the truck, just in case.
  2. I think this is a big deal, it probably means that hotel systems security is compromised in other ways also.
  3. 10 year bond yields are down to 4.2% and equities markets are holding gains, yes, I'd say markets believe risk is reduced.
  4. It's now many months later so this is really just a follow up, presumably everything is still good with your eyes? We live in CM and saw your post so we went down to the hospital to check it out. Things seemed a bit chaotic but it was all there and we came away feeling positive. Can I ask, who was your surgeon? We had tried to find out more about their Opthamologists but language barriers got in the way and we were told to come back on Monday. :(
  5. Finally, something actually useful, practical and helpful, sadly not a product of this thread!
  6. Well done, Probably the single most useful and practical posts on this subject, since all the various threads began.
  7. I'm certain that quality tourists enjoy late nights and night life, just the same as bogans and mongers.
  8. The problem is not the opening hours, the problem is the lack of policing and deterrent, just as it is with many other issues here.
  9. fall of 0.7%, is not a drastic plunge.
  10. Car hab four speed, not go, fast, velly fast and velly velly fast.
  11. The combination of red light runners and green light jumpers makes crossing at a traffic light dangerous, almost as dangerous as crossing via a pedestrian crossing! Personally, I'm a pedestrian bridge crossing man myself.
  12. This thread may have been helpful at one point, if only to raise awareness and provide links. But as time has dragged on, this and other threads like it have degraded into waffle, navel gazing and what if's with some posters attempting to occupy the intellectual high ground and others becoming overnight experts! So if people are going to start ignoring each others posts, this can only be a good thing so the thread can die in peace. I have attempted to distill matters into a simple and practical test, in the form of four questions, which most people wish to not answer and also wish to avoid entirely..... that in itself is very telling. Nevertheless, time will tell as more aspects become clear and posters angst settles down, in a few months most people will wonder what all the fuss was about, some reached that point months earlier! RiP thread.
  13. "Shortly after passing through traffic lights",....... which were what color at the time?
  14. Plus giant fans to return the blown in pollution from Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia.
  15. I find that going to a larger RD office is best, if you lived nearby we could go together. :))
  16. Er, I'm not convinced I said that, if I did, I don't recall the context, perhaps you can help! Er, um, the RD would be a reasonable choice for a place to start.
  17. Many people are starting from different points on the subject of tax, for many, tax is never something they have needed or wanted to understand hence there's a lot of ignorance surrounding the subject. In the UK, HMRC keeps a pretty tight reign on things and does most of the heavy lifting. In the US, Tax form filling companies abound. Here, neither of those things exist and many are fearful..
  18. The statement about foreign sourced income only being liable to Thai tax when it is remitted is perhaps one of the oldest and most frequently posted statements in these discussions yet many have never seen it and many don't understand it! https://sherrings.com/foreign-source-income-personal-tax-thailand.html
  19. OK Misty, I'm going to bring this circular exchange to an end because it is not productive or useful and is of no benefit. Nothing personal but I shall ignore any further posts from you.
  20. It doesn't matter what the law says and it doesn't matter what the RD rules say, citing them is nothing more than an attempt at distraction! I gave you a simple practical application to work through and you answered correctly. Now that you've realised that Thai's are taxed on their world wide income you are looking for ways to backtrack. It's time to move on.
  21. You can't qualify the question, the residence status and the ability to modify it is the reason for the difference.
  22. We are the better class of tourist that Thailand has sought for so long, the type that newbies try so hard to emulate but will always fall short.
