Click on the link tab marked "fees", the prices are al there, don't tell me you can't even navigate around a web site, no wonder you get ripped off so much! The implant cost is 40k, the crown is 10k, read the site and see for yourself!!!

That's because you aren't able to escape the safety of the farang ghetto's and the tourist trap areas of the big city. BTW, here's a heads up, dentistry is not the same as heart transplants, there are literally thousands of excellent highly skilled dentists in Thailand, it's shame you've been too lazy to go find one that is priced normally. Gold standard my arse. Interested in cataract surgery? At the Rutnin in Bangkok it's upwards of 140k per eye, a couple of hospitals near by offer the same thing for 24k, this is the same 15 minutes procedure that ophthalmologists do all overt world, in unsanitary conditions and in the backs of mobile hospitals. Still, if you wanted to pay the highest possible price, that's your prerogative.

Here's the complete link, change the language setting in the upper right hand corner and see the costs page, 50k all in and the doctor is an associate professor at CMU..https://www.indenteclinic.com/en/

Incorrect. Historically, long stay visa fees have been grandfathered hence there is no change for older expats.
-
Those are sucker farang prices, the cost in the NOrth at an expert clinic is 50k max. https://www.indenteclinic.com/fee

Well, this old boy doesn't want to go back home, neither does wifey and neither do the kids, that decision was made a long time ago and none of us would change it for anything. Plus I receive pensions which suit us just fine, plus we have significant savings and overseas property, there are lots and lots of others like me. The stereotype you're aiming at isn't the majority, not by a long shot.

US health insurers outsource medical care to Thailand. https://www.magazine.medicaltourism.com/article/insurers-changing-game-medical-tourism

Blue Shield health insurance in the US, in some of the states, used to use Bumrungrad to outsource some medical work, there were articles in the news and on this forum about that very thing.

I can relate to that. I have a flat in the UK but it would cost me much more to live there and I'd be existing rather than having the freedom to do what I chose and to holiday at the beach when I want. And if I wanted to see doctor there I'd have to go through some complicated process and unless I was bleeding from my ears and arse, I'd maybe get one in a few weeks, even then I'd get ten minutes at tops. Here, I decide which of a dozen or more specialists I want to see and then I go and see them, six hundred baht and a couple of hours later I've had my consultation! I was in hospital two weeks ago and had my thyroid completely removed, it cost me half of what it would cost in the UK if done privately and the surgeon was a world class expert and professor at CMU. Whilst there for five days, my back began to hurt again so the doctor asked if I wanted to have someone look into it. Three hours later I've had an MRI using the latest TESLA high definition technology, and I've been assessed by a spinal surgeon, it cost me 8k for the MRI and 500 for the consultation. There is no comparison.

I agree completely. The problem is, far too many foreigners don't understand the medical system here, they want Bumrungrad quality and service at government hospital prices and complain when they don't get that. Here's a tip, if you want inexpensive medical care, don't go to the likes of Bangkok Hospital or similar.

For Expats only. Thinking the unthinkable.
Mike Lister replied to swissie's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
And you think that NATO wouldn't get involved, the moment any European country was attacked......there can be no question of that, ergo the US would also be involved out of treaty obligations if nothing else. At that point, NATO has to win otherwise a russian owned Europe becomes an existential threat to the US -
Duplicates reported.

Much ado about nothing! Complainers always complain, even if there is nothing to complain about. Paranoids that Thailand is always out to get them should start taking their meds again. Cambodia and PI candidates: they may sound good on paper but the reality and longer term is they are not workable for most. There are reasons why those countries only have 0.5% and 0.1% of foreigners living there and Thailand has 5.2%. https://www.statista.com/statistics/912128/southeast-asia-migrant-proportion-of-population-by-country/

Pretty much, that and the old city.

Best thing that ever happened here.

Goodbye SJ, meet my ignore list.

Read the post above, somebody did the job for you! If you're not happy with me not posting a link, report it to the mods and have the post deleted if that makes you happy! I can't begin to count the number of times those links have been posted already, posting it again accomplishes nothing except make you happy.

Yes, and that's how I first fell into that trap but it was three years ago, it wasn't recently. I mentioned claiming a deduction to help out my wife and her return and the RD used that as the catalyst to look at my transfers.

You can google it, just as well as I can, if you want to read it first hand, get googling, if you don't, it's up to you!

The banks have limits how much you can send each day, ask your bank what the limit is and send just under that amount. Er, presumably you don't mean that you're actually trying to send Baht, presumably you mean you're giving them Baht to exchange into Pounds for sending? You can't export THB above a very low limit, except to two provinces in China.
-
At Mazars, Sherrings or the RD, take your pick which one you want to read..
-
The tax law says that anyone with assessable income of THB 120,000 per year or more, must file a return.
-
If you complete a tax return to obtain a refund of taxes withheld on bank interest, you must also complete the rest of the return, you can't cherry pick which parts you do and don't want to complete. If during that particular tax year you also had other assessable income, such as overseas income that was remitted to Thailand, in the year it was earned, or, pension income that was deposited into a Thai bank, that also must be declared. If you don't, you've potentially filed a fraudulent return and that could come back and bite you. For some people this may be OK, for others, it may be better not to reclaim the tax that has been withheld by banks.
