File picture for reference only. The EEC (Eastern Economic Corridor) Office is seeking for the government to reconsideration its decision and reopen the bidding for the development of a new MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul ) facility at U-Tapao Airport, Rayong. EECP (Eastern Economic Corridor Policy Committee), highlighted the rapid developing aircraft maintenance industry, and with the current Thai Airways’ facility at Don Mueang Airport will lose its contract in 2025, U-Tapao Airport, which is part of the EEC, is ideal for the new MRO facility to cater to both local and international airlines, and the EEC Office has available around 210 rai of land for this purpose. The government had allocated this land for a joint investment between Thai Airways and Airbus, but recent shifts in the aviation industry have made Airbus less interested and unlikely to be involved in the project. So the EECP will propose that the government re-examine and reopen the bidding process for the MRO project. U-Tapao Airport has this week awarded the contract for the new second runway to ITD (Italian-Thai Development Win Contract) with the worked expected to be completion by 2028. The new proposed MRO facility will be located near this second runway, so ensuring it is strategically positioned for all operations. -- 2024-08-10 - Cigna offers a variety of health insurance plans designed to meet the minimum requirement for medical treatment coverage, with benefits reaching up to THB 3 million. On August 9, at approximately 18:06, the Huai Yai Municipal Disaster Relief Center received a report of a fire at a residential home. The incident occurred at a housing estate in Moo 1, Huai Yai Subdistrict. Upon arrival, responders found a large group of foreign nationals, mostly Chinese, gathered to witness the blaze. The fire had fully engulfed a two-story home. Firefighters worked to contain the flames, preventing them from spreading to nearby houses. It took about an hour to bring the fire under control. Inside the home, almost all the belongings and furniture were destroyed or damaged, and a white Toyota Revo pickup truck with Chonburi temporary license plates sustained damage from the initial explosion. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. According to the Chinese residents of the house, who spoke through a translator, the home was occupied by three people: two women aged between 35 and 45 and a boy aged between 10 and 15. They recounted that they were preparing a meal when flames suddenly erupted from a gas cylinder. In a panic, they fled the house and sought help from neighbors just before the gas or cylinder exploded. Initial investigations by Police Lieutenant Colonel Nevin Suntuanik, Deputy Inspector of Huai Yai Police Station, revealed that the home, valued at ten million baht, was severely damaged due to a gas leak that led to the explosion. Authorities plan to coordinate with forensic police from Chonburi's Region 2 to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident. -- 2024-08-10 - Cigna offers a variety of health insurance plans designed to meet the minimum requirement for medical treatment coverage, with benefits reaching up to THB 3 million. Can not disagree there, bit that seems about the same for all religions.

I have no idea what type or if any insurance a temple has in Thailand. You do also understand that all fires are not insurance jobs, and the chances of getting paid out, if even insured, will require full investigation. Insurance companies in Thailand, like any where else do not like paying out.

Update. From the investigation, police examined physical evidence, including latent fingerprints found at the scene. The evidence suggests that the victim, from Laos and identified as ‘Namfon’ likely inflicted the injuries on herself. According to the investigation, this tragic act appears to have been driven by hallucinations caused by drug use. Police found yaba and ketamine all over Lao woman's room, and believe she was going crazy from the drugs, before cutting her own throat. The authorities are continuing their investigation to confirm the details and circumstances leading to the woman’s death. -- 2024-08-09 - Cigna offers a variety of health insurance plans designed to meet the minimum requirement for medical treatment coverage, with benefits reaching up to THB 3 million. Picture from responders. A horrific accident occurred at a paper factory in Sam Khok District, Pathum Thani Province, where a 21-year-old male worker was fatally crushed by a paper press machine. The incident happened on the evening of August 8, at approximately 20:00. The police and emergency responders were alerted to the scene, but despite their efforts, the worker was pronounced dead shortly after being found. Upon arrival at the scene, respondersdiscovered the worker trapped in the machine, with his body and head partially compressed. The worker was found lying on his right side, with more than half of his body caught in the press. Despite attempts to rescue him, his pulse weakened, and he succumbed to his injuries shortly afterward. The police have since coordinated with the forensic experts from the Ministry of Justice's Institute of Forensic Science to conduct an autopsy. Coworkers who were near the scene stated that six employees were working overtime in the building at the time of the accident. The victim was assigned to monitor the paper-cutting machine, and no one saw or heard anything unusual until they discovered his body trapped in the press. The workers immediately informed their supervisor, who contacted security and emergency services, but it was too late to save him. The supervisor confirmed that fewer than ten employees were working overtime at the time of the incident. He emphasised that safety protocols are always reiterated before work begins. The deceased worker had only been employed at the factory for just over a month. On the morning of the accident, the company had shown a safety video to all employees, highlighting the dangers of workplace negligence, in an effort to prevent such accidents. The company has pledged full support to the worker’s family during this difficult time. Authorities plan to conduct thorough interviews with witnesses and have sent the body for further examination at the Institute of Forensic Science, Ministry of Justice. -- 2024-08-09 - Cigna offers a variety of health insurance plans designed to meet the minimum requirement for medical treatment coverage, with benefits reaching up to THB 3 million. Update Suspect 'Natt' Confesses to Killing Student and Burning the Body to Conceal the Crime August 9, at 10:00 AM, police escorted Nattawut, known as Natt , to the crime scene for a reenactment of the events. Wearing a helmet and a blue shirt, Natt refused to answer any questions from the media. The reenactment began in front of the dormitory, near the motorcycle parking area and the white pickup truck, as captured in the CCTV footage from the day of the incident. Security was tight to prevent any possible attacks on Natt during the procedure. The police then took him to the 6th-floor room where the murder occurred. Nattawut, 21, was arrested by a team from Nakhon Sawan Provincial Police, Region 1, and Rattanathibet Police Station at his home in Phayuha Khiri District, Nakhon Sawan Province. He was charged with the murder of Wiswa, also known as "Sun," a 22-year-old student. After committing the murder, Nattawut set the body on fire in a dormitory room in Nonthaburi City. He was later interrogated at Nikhom Bo Khao Kaew Police Station in Nakhon Sawan, with his grandparents present. Nattawut confessed to the crime, citing a financial dispute as the motive. After killing Wiswa, he sold the victim’s mobile phone for 7,000 THB and fled to Phu Thap Boek in Phetchabun Province before returning to his grandparents’ home, where he was eventually apprehended. Rattanathibet Police Station Superintendent Pol. Col. Pisuth Chantrasuwan stated that the suspect’s confession matched the evidence gathered by the police. Nattawut admitted to piling blankets on the victim’s body and setting them on fire. The financial dispute that led to the murder involved a loan of 2,000 THB, later increased to 5,000 THB. During an argument, Nattawut used a knife from the room to stab Wiswa, then threw the knife into the fire and fled the scene on a stolen motorcycle, heading to Bangkok Railway Station. Nattawut revealed that he had known the victim since the beginning of the year through Facebook, and they had been in contact ever since. The murder took place on their first in-person meeting. Nattawut also confessed to stealing a motorcycle, which he used to travel to the victim's room after arriving in Bangkok. The police have charged Nattawut with four offenses: premeditated murder, arson, concealment of a corpse, and theft. The suspect showed signs of stress during the interrogation. -- 2024-08-09 - Cigna offers a variety of health insurance plans designed to meet the minimum requirement for medical treatment coverage, with benefits reaching up to THB 3 million. Not going to disagree, as the pictures do not show the full scene. Also from the picture of the van, it shows it has ended up, more in the inside lane, note the white line road shoulder marking in my OP picture. The outside lane is marked in yellow. The front ambulance, in the lead picture, may therefore be blocking the view of the van, and the responder in red is directing traffic around it. The buffalo would therefore have to been thrown forward after the impact. These are only pictures I can find and are from The Tiger Rescue Foundation.

Making a educated guess, and looking at the damage, I would say the minibus hit the buffalo at speed and came to rest further down the road. The emergency vehicles parked to the rear of the scene, to protect responders, standard procedures, often referred to as fend off position. The positioning of the ambulances in this case seems to have worked, as if they were not parked in those positions the pick up could have run over medical teams. None of the accident scene pictures available show the final position of all vehicles.
