Not saying your wrong, but if he was testing the depth of the water, why partially remove the lid, as there is a hole in the centre of the lid to use.
-
Sorry, I have no idea, but it is quoted in the 2 reports I have seen. My only thought was it may have been used to help lever the concrete lid to the side.

At 17:45, on July 27, Police Lieutenant Nathipong Jiamphuak, an investigator from Nong Prue Police Station, received a report of a Thai man who had fallen into an abandoned well in Soi Lung Kia, Moo 9, Pong Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District. Upon receiving the report, he went to the scene with the rescue unit from Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation, Pattaya. Upon arrival, officials inspected the abandoned well, approximately 8-10 meters deep, located in a cassava plantation. A large cement cover was partially opened at the mouth of the well. Nearby, they found a pair of sandals and a five-meter-long wooden stick. The body of the deceased, identified as a 55 years old, was found submerged in the well. The rescue team and divers from Sawang Boriboon Foundation had to use ropes to lower themselves into the well, then dive to retrieve the body, taking nearly an hour to complete the recovery. The deceased’s sister, recounted that she saw her brother leave the house around noon with a long wooden stick. She didn't think much of it at the time. After an hour, she noticed his prolonged absence and began searching for him but couldn't find him. Eventually, she discovered his sandals near the well’s opening, along with the wooden stick he had taken from home. She also mentioned that a few days prior, he had been suffering from severe joint pain due to gout, which caused him a great deal of distress. Police Lieutenant Nathipong Jiamphuak disclosed that the preliminary examination showed no signs of foul play. It is suspected that the cause of death might be suicide, possibly due to health issues. However, a thorough investigation and further questioning of the relatives will be conducted before the body is released for religious rites. Picture from responders.

Please what are the concerns about the Thai air traffic control systems? The FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) Thailand downgrade in 2015 was based on three critical areas: airworthiness of aircraft, airman licensing and airline operator requirements Air Traffic Control in the Bangkok FIR (Flight Information Region) is under Aerothai (Aeronautical Radio of Thailand Ltd) and in 2023 it dealt with 718255 commercial flights. Control is divided into 8 sections (Sectors), which consists of 32 international routes (ATS Air Traffic Services Routes- International), 37 domestic routes (ATS Routes – Domestic), and 26 Area Navigation (RNAV) Routes Sector 1 in the upper southern region of the country Sector 2, the eastern region and lower northeastern region of the country Sector 3 in the southeastern part of the country Sector 4 in the western and lower northern regions of the country Sector 5, the southern region of the country on the western coast Sector 6 in the lower southern region of the country on the eastern coast Sector 7 in the upper northern region of the country Sector 8 in the upper northeastern region of the country https://www.aerothai.co.th/sites/default/files/files/document/2023 AEROTHAI Annual Report_ENG_e-book_Final.pdf -

New runway at Suvarnabhumi Airport sparks emergency drill
Georgealbert replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
These types of exercises are regular occurrences and the recent Singapore Airlines turbulence incident, clearly shows that these training and drills are working at Suvarnabhumi. This emergency exercise was observed by CAAT (Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand), which will fully document and record the details for any future audit, and will need to ensure full compliance with ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation) standards, Annex 1, Personnel Licensing, Annex 9 Facilitation, Annex 11 Air Traffic Services, Annex 14 Volume I - Aerodromes, Annex 17 Security and Annex 19 Safety Management. Thailand is currently due FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) inspection to confirm compliance with international safety standard, to see if the country can be raised back to FAA Category 1 (CAT1) from Category 2 (CAT2), which has been in place since 2015. Emergency response at airports is not on the list of failings that need addressing. Picture from AOT. -

On July 24, Lt. Col. Thasana Udomporn, an investigator at Lam Luk Ka Police Station, received a report of a fire at rental warehouses in Moo 12, Bueng Kham Phroi Subdistrict, Lam Luk Ka District, Pathum Thani Province. Following the report, he informed his superiors and promptly went to the scene with Deputy Superintendent Prakop Nakyai and more than 20 fire trucks. The fire originated at warehouse B41, belonging to a furniture manufacturing company, and rapidly spread to adjacent warehouses, affecting four on the left and three on the right, totaling seven warehouses. The damage is yet to be assessed. Firefighters managed to contain the blaze to a limited area. According to Mr. Paiboon, 64, a security guard, the fire likely started due to an electrical short circuit in warehouse B41. He was patrolling the area when he saw the fire inside the locked warehouse, making it impossible to access. The warehouse in question stored wood and thinner, materials for furniture production. At the time of the fire, no workers were present as the company had closed around 17.00, however, neighbouring companies were still operational. Authorities have documented the scene and will interview witnesses to determine the cause of the fire. Forensic officers will also conduct a thorough investigation to establish the exact cause of the blaze. https://www.khaosod.co.th/breaking-news/news_777777852535

July 24, Pol. Lt. Reuk Wichian, Deputy Inspector of Nang Rong Police Station, received a report of an accident involving a Siam Ruam Jai Poo In rescue vehicle (ambulance) and a goods delivery truck. The incident occurred on Nang Rong-Lam Plai Mat Road, in front of a motorcycle repair shop, when the rescue vehicle was en route to assist injured individuals from a previous accident. The crash resulted in severe injuries for two rescue volunteers trapped inside their vehicle. Emergency responders from Siam Ruam Jai Poo In and Nang Rong Hospital's emergency services were dispatched to the scene to provide immediate assistance. Upon arrival, authorities found the rescue vehicle had collided head-on with a Toyota Vigo delivery truck. The front of the rescue vehicle was heavily damaged, and the two injured volunteers were identified as Ms. Kanokporn Prapasanobol, 34, the driver, who sustained broken ribs, and Ms. Pao, 18, the passenger, who suffered a broken leg. Rescue teams used hydraulic tools to extricate the volunteers, taking about 15 minutes before they were rushed to the hospital for urgent medical care. CCTV footage from the motorcycle repair shop clearly captured the incident. The rescue vehicle, with its siren activated, was traveling straight when the delivery truck suddenly turned into its path from a roadside parking spot, leading to the collision. Witness Ms. Nantaporn Laiyam, 34, owner of the repair shop, reported hearing a loud crash before seeing the rescue vehicle and delivery truck collision. The footage revealed that the delivery truck, without heeding the siren, turned abruptly, causing the crash. Despite the siren being active throughout the journey, the delivery truck turned suddenly, leading to the accident. Mr. Sang, 22, a worker in the delivery truck, recounted that he and a sales officer had stopped for lunch and were re-entering the road when the collision happened. He did not hear the siren, but he was unsure if the driver did. Both sustained minor injuries. Police are investigating the incident further, reviewing evidence and interviewing witnesses to determine the cause and proceed with legal action. https://www.khaosod.co.th/around-thailand/news_777777852180

Heavy rainfall has relentlessly pounded the Mae Sot district in Tak Province throughout the day and night, leading to widespread disruption along the border. The persistent and intense downpour has caused the Moei River to swell significantly, resulting in a rapid and turbulent current. This adverse weather condition has led to an accident involving goods transportation ferry across the Moei River, which snapped from the supporting line and slings. Fortunately, there were no casualties, and everyone was able to get back on land. RPReplay_Final1721822977.mp4

Yet more off topic nonsense, can you please show where this is relevant to the topic - “Justice Department investigating door plug blowout on Alaska Airlines flight, report says” For Southwest Airlines flight WN-2786, what happened in the 16 seconds, when the aircraft dropped is described in an internal memo which was circulating in Southwest Airlines stating, “that during the go around due to weather conditions the first officer, pilot flying, inadvertently pushed the control column forward while monitoring the power settings causing the aircraft to descend to about 400 feet MSL before the aircraft started climbing again.” This now alleged ‘trend’ has nothing to do with the Boeing investigation, and is certainly looks like it is not a Boeing issue, but as normal, do not let the real facts get in the way of your alternative real truth. Reminder of you first post in this thread, that shows your level of credibility.
