  1. Thanks folks for your replies, most appreciated. I'm gonna check out the blind massage place in Jomtien. 👍
  2. I am looking for an experienced Massage Therapist in Pattaya area near Jomtien. Male only, the same person I can go to on a regular basis. Absolutely no interest in the ‘typical’ massage parlors so prevalent here. Would love to get a personal recommendation from someone who has experience with the referred therapist. Any recommendations appreciated!
  3. I'm an expat new in town and would like to take up bowling again. Is anyone aware of an expat bowling team or if anyone is interested in bowling please let me know.
  4. I want to hire (part-time, hourly rate) for a Technology person to help me when I move to Pattaya in Mid-March. I am in need of someone to assist me in phone apps, LINE and other Thai apps and eventually TV/Amazon firestick/ hookup - as well as learning some basic Thai Language instruction. All referrals and recommendations really appreciated. Thanks, JD
  5. Thank you very much! I sent you a private message.
  6. Thank you so much for your referral, I will certainly check this out. JD
  7. Thank You for your responses. To be honest I’m just starting to use social websites (and Apps) and I’m not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to Technology, or what to say or not say! To answer some questions briefly it’s not the language or the Argentine people (wonderful and most welcoming) – but my desire to live in a totally different culture from my very traditional European heritage, combined with a sense of challenge and adventure. I apologize for stating in my initial message about no tourists or Englis-fluent only, etc. I realize now I had a very ‘narrow-minded’ attitude that several responses helped me see Myself, and I am so appreciative. Yes, I'm going to try and learn basic Thai - but I want a good combo Technology/Translator person in the meantime.
  8. Pattaya seems to be a beautiful place, and a ideal location for me to meet and develop contacts with fellow English speakers, both expats and Thai locals. BTW - I am searching for a native English-fluent Translator, also very adept at technology. Of course I would pay a fair hourly rate for their assistance. Any information you could provide would be most appreciated!
  9. I would prefer they be in Pattaya but they could be in Bangkok if I have to... Thanks for all your help!
  10. Guys, Thank You Thank You for these great referrals and urls to visit! Just what I needed. I am happy to pay a good Agent who can successfully handle everything for me. I will follow up on these promptly. All the Best to you in 2024!
  11. Hi All, First off I apologize for not being able to use this site properly. I MAY understand more how to know! Anyway, I know I need an Agent to help me get my first Non-O Thai retirement visa. I only have the income required (3K, Social Security) and I do not have 800,000 baht additional. So, can a good agent, who is utterly reliable, to get this done for me under these conditions? I would like to live in Bangkok or Pattaya but - if required, I can live anywhere in the country the agent needs. I am 81 years old, from the USA, and not currently in Thailand. I'm looking for trusted referrals for an agent who people have used and are very happy with please. Thanks for all your help!
  12. Thanks very much for all your comments! However, I still need some clarity on: 1) The Thai government website seems to say someone applying for a retirement visa must have proof of pension or regular income from a source outside of Thailand that is not less than THB ฿65,000 per month. It also says an applicant must meet the financial requirement by opening and maintaining a Thai bank account with at least THB ฿800,000. BUT, my question is are both required for a retirement visa? 2) Also, is it true that if I apply while I am in the country, I don't have to present proof of health insurance? I have seen conflicting info about that. I currently am living in Argentina, but have U.S. Citizenship. 3) What is the “Medical Certificate” and what is the ‘physical testing’ requirement? Can I be denied this visa because of any ‘pre-existing’ health issue? 4) Is it better to apply for retirement residency from where I am now overseas, or is it better to apply after I arrive in Thailand? Thanks in advance for your answers!
  13. Please - bear with me for a day or 2! I have NEVER been on a message board like this before and being new year my 'helper' is not available until January 1 or 2. I am so appreciative of all this information but honestly very overwhelming at this time. I will reply to everyone as soon as possible. Thank You and Happy New Year! Sincerely, JD
