  1. Actually these tariffs imposed by President Trump will hopefully be a good thing for us expats in Thailand. I often order products from Amazon.com in the U.S. and pay upwards of 75% tariff, sometimes more. Thailand will eventually have to reduce its insane tariffs on American goods. This will be a big positive for us expats.
  2. Don, while your posts are bizarre they are sure refreshing opposed to the left wing banter of some BLM proselytizers. Keep up the good work, you make my day.
  3. One book by my favorite author, Paul Theroux, it is titled "Siamese Nights." The book is about an American businessman that is posted to Bangkok. It is a fascinating read about how a typical businessman can be taken in and have his life turned upside-down. If you enjoy history, an interesting two part book series titled "The Falcon of Siam" by Axel Alywen is a sweeping historical read about Thailand's early kingdom. Another great book.
  4. What is your point other than creating more animosity and ill-will among posters on this forum. Maybe you should submit a poll asking users who posts the most inane subject matter and tries to create division.
  5. Ya, I get that reaction also when I have my "schlong" out.
  6. Number 5 is the Netherlands and the reason we are happy is that we keep our fingers in the dike. Unfortunately, like much of the EU, the Netherlands is socialist and globalist and possibly communist. Nothing is free in life as they say and those paying the highest price for this socialism are the higher wage earners. So really, there is not much incentive to make a higher wage. 2025 rates for box 1 income Taxable income (EUR) Tax on column 1 (EUR) Tax on excess (%) Over (column 1) Not over 0 38,441* 8.17 38,441 76,817 3,140 37.48 76,817 17,523 49.50
  7. Actually, it would be a good thing for the U.S. to enter a recession. This would finally break the rampant inflation in the United States. The Fed under Biden, was pressured by Biden to not raise interest rates too high as to cause a recession because Biden cared more about his socialist policies than about the America citizens. This unfortunately caused massive inflation in the U.S. But Trump is looking to the future of the U.S. and realizes that in the short run, government spending must come down. Government debt and the huge debt bomb will only be solved by a reduction in spending both by the government and by the private sector.
  8. It will likely be another left-wing globalist DEI candidate as the Democrats have learned nothing about the last election. Possibly Ocasio-Cortez as she fits this definition.
  9. I wonder if he will still get his 72 virgins?
  10. If nothing else, let this be a lesson to the Thai men who kick while a foreigner is on the ground, that you will get hurt if you pick on the wrong foreigner.
  11. And why do you care or are you trying to incite more hatred for Trump?
  12. Netherlands but of course! Thailand would be next to last somewhere near Somalia.
  13. Just like Vietnam and Germany the Ukraine war is not winnable. You cannot win against Russia, the Germans tried that in WW2 with millions of its soldiers and look where it got them. I certainly applaud the Ukraine people for their tough fight but it is hopeless. I think Trump realizes this and is trying to end the slaughter and destruction of the Ukraine.
