As I suspected when the DTV came out, it’s perfect for those who winter here for 3-6 months as you don’t need extensions or border runs. Everyone else, no advantage. I’ve heard many people say they are going to switch from their retirement visa over to the DTV just to avoid the 90 day reporting. You may want to rethink that and how little of an inconvenience is it to either do it online or as I do, go to immigration every three months and wait no more than 10 to 15 minutes. I think I have time for that.

If you are a simple person living here on a pension or investment income from another country, and you pay taxes in that said country, enjoy your time here. If you are earning income in Thailand, legally or illegally, the future may become clearer for you.

In the 3 years of having retirement visa, I have never filed a TM 30 after returning from out of country (at least 6 times) nor when traveling within Thailand. I do my 90 day reporting with a smile on my face and never been asked any questions.

Same people whining again about a Country they chose to live in. Unless someone is forcing you to stay, please leave and be miserable elsewhere.

This is not a left or right, nor a Democrat, nor Republican statement, it is only my personal opinion that is shared by probably 75% of the world. The USA is no longer what it used to be and will only get worse. I have no idea what the answer is, but what you have now is certainly not working.

It’s funny that the topic is Liberal meltdown but all I see is comments from Republicans still disrespecting the Democrats and gloating over the win. I think the meltdown is coming from the right knowing now that the future that has been decided is very bleak. That said, the Republicans finally won fair and square so congratulations on the win.
