    Ok The girlfriend said we have the wedding at her house, but I will tell her for the visa we will do it at the district office. Is it expensive? Do they do catering etc?

    Perhaps. i was wondering about getting a Thai citizenship. They get 30 baht hospital care and I wouldn’t need a visa.

    It has got worse the last ten years. I don’t care if I never go back ever. Which is why I sold up and moved here. If there is a better country to live I would be open to it if I could take my girlfriend.

    That is why I thought a Educational visa might be a good one. They teach you Thai and give you a visa. I was speaking to a guy yesterday who has been here over 15 years and never bothered to learn Thai. It will make life a lot easier for me I think. I really like Thai people.

    If they do it everyday is that not a routine? And it sounds better than a hospital cleaning routine. Sounds like you might be a bit jealous and lonely.

    Girlfriend says her mother will ask the monk at the temple which is the best time to get married. I don’t really care. It was only important to do it quickly if I needed the marriage visa. But sure will use retirement now. Not yet, but I will before it runs out.

    Thankyou. I was not planning on going there until after I get the retirement visa. But maybe do it all after the Vietnam trip if I can not open an account in Phuket. The system seems a bit messy to be honest. Chicken before the egg. But obviously possible as thousands of people are doing it.

    Sounds like a bit of a hassle. Thankyou for the link. I came on a holiday visa? 30 days which someone said I can get a 30 extension if I go to the immigration office. i don’t really want to return to the UK. I was thinking of takingmy girlfriend to Vietnam for a holiday when that expires and get another one. I heard it is nice there.

    I heard that if married in Thailand that the money gets split up 50/50? a lot better than western countries.

    No offense taken, than you very much for your help. That is why am asking here. Don’t I need a bank account first to get the visa to get the certificate of residence? I am in Phuket but will live in the countryside where my wife is from soon. we will go up there after I get the retirement visa.
