I'll ask the obvious question: Which newspapers still write in proper English? That is worldwide, I am not just asking about Thailand.

I expect more from journalism. We all know journalists worldwide have no integrity, but now they lack the skills to showcase their lack of integrity.

I looked forward to reading the entire newspaper. I always gave away the sports section, and I would read every article. In 2001, the articles were written at an 8th-grade level. Now, most newspapers are written at a 1st—or 2nd-grade level. To someone like me who has an education, newspapers are a joke now. I can't read either significant newspaper, so I don't bother. Grammar is almost nonexistent. It was a pleasure to read them in 2001. The reporting was superb. What a shame.

DO NOT underestimate what these people will do to save face.

The reporting in Thailand is just as bad as it is in America.

There is no excuse. The writing astounds me. Did he do it, or did he not? Is there any proof beyond circumstantial? Did the hospital use a rape kit on the child? If a 3-year-old were sexually violated, I would think the baby would scream. No one heard the child cry? No one changed diapers to find it earlier. There is so much wrong with this story. Maybe he did it. If so, put him under the jail. But, what if an uncle or some other family member did it and the blamed the foreigner? This family from the description, doesn't sound very responsible. They appear drunk all the time, or always drinking. Who takes care of the child? Something to think about before you nudniks blame the foreigner.
