  1. I'm not talking once, like dozens of times. Nobody cares about money. This is just an arrival thing for customs like anywhere in the world. Yes obviously you need to declare it if it is that much, which isn't a big deal either.
  2. That's a load of BS, I just flew with like 1M baht in cash multiple times and was never even asked to show it. Same they would have no clue if you exchanged it at local shops, neither would it be any of their business. This is the job of customs, and one can simply declare it. What would even be the purpose of having scanners in walls lol, if you have a main security point for all this. Same for the machines to do a swab on the bags and tell you your good or not in seconds.
  3. All gold in Thailand is around 96.5% and the prices they stated are correct. Pure gold is never used for jewellery in the first place too. Bit of a shabby time to buy gold now, I've gotten it 6 years ago for like 26,500 per 1 baht hehe. Not a bad deal to have bought 265,000 baht of gold back then with a profit today of nearly 150,000 baht. One wonders when fiat money becomes toilet paper.
  4. If you read the article you would have that answer already.
  5. In combination with stupidity of aged man who like to get 100 shots. Yeah you're right stays fun to read that.
  6. I launched multiple last year in the city as well did hundreds if not thousands of other people. But yeah not as busy as it once was.
  7. Wether they give you something or not is not really relevant. As far it was proposed now this is purely an entrance fee, to deter them gambling too much or only if they apparently have more significant funds to waste.
  8. It's barely more than it was before the change and still a better deal to use the minivans in terms of their time efficiency. Also it easily would cost 1K just to get a grab from Chiang Rai, and from the border side otherwise, your options would be very limited aka needing to take a public bus to CR first. That alone is likely 2 hours gone already, that's over half way with the run services minivan to CM.
  9. I notice that the long running Chiang Mai border run service also mentions this on the website now, it says you have to stay 2 nights in Laos. I doubt this came from the Laos side, this must be from the Thai border to try and surpress the amount of people going there as the Laos side in fact always offered you to say 'visa run' and then not needing to fill out any paperwork + being stamped in and out at once on the application desk.
  10. I thought the entrance for locals was going to be like 5,000 baht, I doubt many will show up at all.
  11. The declaration of war to both UK and USA was perfectly fine delivered, however neither took it serious.
  12. Anyone it is not the same as Netherlands / Europe. It's fully Thai owned by now too in SE asia.
  13. Slow people who can't read something simple as their assigned seat on a airplane, or push in front of others even it is not their turn. Or people who stop out of nowhere in the middle of malls, as if they were alone, blocking everyone behind them. Or staff that wants to scan my barcode on automated gates, thinking that I can't do that myself, or I guess, they just wanted to let them keep having a job.... Guess that is the same for immigration etc, they don't want to be efficient as it costs jobs. Makes it also so obvious that various forces here work against each other: one force buying auto gates, others trying to keep things were they were.
  14. They are worth it so much, the batteries last up to 2 years and can be replaced with a bat from 7/11 in a minute too. I have them in all my bikes, bags, key ring etc. Can find things back up to 10CM in distance. The Danish can only wish to time travel and have done that.
  15. They finance it and the students pay back later in installments.
