  1. a couple of weeks ago my urine color changed to a darker yellow and has maintained this darker color ever since- i can think of no major change in my diet or my fluid consumption - any thoughts on what might be causing this?

    Honest to God, WATER.

    4-5 litres a day.

do it for 4 days. Nothing changes, hit the Doc.

    2. Are you drinking anything like "Gatorade" or the like? Electrolyte drinks?

    3. Are you taking ant Multi-vitamin stuff?

    4. Food colours - check.

Please let me know how you go as urine is a passion of mine having spent years in the bush.

    How weird is that ???????

sounds like good advice - last night i drank 3 liters of water before going to bed - had to get up and pee about 10 times during the night but color was much better - will continue this for the next few days and report back - thanks!

It might be worth picking up some electrolite powder, can get them at most pharmacies about 5 Baht a sachet. By the way they taste like $hit!!!!!

  2. I've had the Tarantulas, the snakes and the other black beasties above, I also have a young daughter and I just wouldn't take the chance of leaving it alive. I am ignorant as far as these creatures are concerned, I don't know their habits, food or much else about them. I also wouldn't have a chance in hel_l of identifying a particular snake so I would rather not take the chance.

We have 3 cats, they do a great job with the snakes and centipedes!!!

  3. I am covered with tattoos although most people would never see them.

    Nidge

You're NOT the tatooed type he's talking about, I too have a few tats but I think we have all seen the guy's he's talking about, usually with tats on the neck, hands, head. It's not meant to be an insult to tatooed people, I cetainly know who he's talking about.

I hope u told the aussie couple to fk off. :o Any rate, none of their business and I would tell them so.

    Spot on!!!!!

  4. The guy did most of his own stunts, fair play to a 61 year old!!!!

Sorry to disappoint you, watch the movie and you can easily see when his stunt man (a nice young lad from east europe whice I met and talked to several times during his 6 month stay in CM) is doing the stuff :-)

I hate correcting people, you're talking about Stani, Sly's stunt double. I worked with him for 5 months (funnily enough, on Rambo), I think I may have noticed who was doing MOST of the stunts, Stani did a lot of stand in work but not a lot of stunt work.

    Hard at work stunt man!!!!

  5. Hi need some help on this one. Have just moved into new house and my wife got a big shock off the dishwasher. The appliance is new and a stainless steel finish. I fitted a 3rd earth pin as a solution told me by the seller, this eliminated the shock issue, but having read on the net that the problem has been only bypassed and not cured, ie loose wire problem is stiil there but is now going to earth.

I then got the sellers electrician who immediately went to open the wall socket not even looking at the appliance. The builders electrician says the electric is fine. The appliance seller actually got a live from the microwave, but we have no shocks from that.Trying other sockets for the dishwasher 2 pin only it is live on everyone. I am confused by the second appliance being live, being sure it was a fault in the dishwasher. anybody can solve my puzzle please, ps no lives from any of the showers or any other electrical device(apart from micro again fit a third pin gone) and we have many. thanks

I had this a while back, the "sparks" from the electric company had reversed the polarity on the house!!!! It could be the pos connected to the neutral at the meter!!!!

  6. Wasn't the mighty Rambo one of the first people to flee from Thailand when the coup happened last year ? I seem to recall an article (or topic) about that back then.

I think you will find that was Nic Cage.

  7. go and see Rambo awesome movie and a lot of Thais involved in the making. Interesting how sfx were all done by Russians

    WRONG!!!!!!

No Russians were involved in the SFX, they did some of the VFX. The SFX crew were British and Thai, oh and one American guy.

Note: Have a look at my profile pic, my daughter!!!

  8. Thank you guys for the advices!

The biggest problem for me is the sizes of equipment (in any sport). The industry just don't produce/sell for persons with height/weight above average ( > 100kg, mine is 120 and 48 shoes size).

So I hope there in bigger shop centers will be a better selection of sizes.

Anyway I want to visit Bangkok soon.

Yesterday I just tried a wakeboard w/o boots but wearing windsurfing shoes. For me it feels like a wakeskate. So maybe I just buy a wakeboard w/o boots.

Stick some floor grip tape on the top, homepro sell it. I thought skates were slightly smaller!!??

  9. Andyadam.....................you are correct with what you have stated.

What can,t be determined with that though is the value of the vehicle that customs will give it. It could be something outrageous.......depends on the officer of the day. :o

Spot on Steve, it should be cost at source but it could be cost or value in Thailand, this is a real grey area!!!!

  10. I want to find nice used jeep wrangler to buy. I would prefer it be 4x4 and not an old willys jeep or a suzuki.

I have been looking through the lots in Pattaya but haven't seen anything I like yet. If anyone knows of a good one please PM me.

    Thanks,

    Tuffy

Not easy to find in Thailand, if you do find one it will probably have a Toyota coversion (engine). I have seen a couple in BKK but with the conversion. They are about 3M baht new here so will be expensive!!

It could be an option to import one but that has its pitfalls!

A second hand one in the UK would be cheap (byt no aircon on the older mods), they are all 4x4 BTW, and the older it is, the less the import duty.

From memory the duty is about 200% BUT, because it's a 4x4 it gets halved, then there is a sliding scale for the age to a max discount of 80% for a 9 year old car (anyone correct me if I'm mis-informed).

There are a couple of 4x4 dealers in Srinakarin Road, near Secon Square BKK.

The only reason I know about this is I havd a YJ Wrangler in the UK and was going to import it but only got the 200% info, not the discounts!!!!!

    Have a look at these

    Jeep1

    Jeep2

But you will need someone who reads Thai!!!!

    Best of luck

  11. In Royal Garden Plaza Pattaya there is only wakeboards but I want a wakeskate.

Also all gloves there are of small sizes (mine is XXL at least).

So I'm considering take a visit to Bangkok.

Super Sports is known to have water sport equipment.

I was not able to find their site for more info.

Hope in Central World there will be a big selection.

Any other shopping centers I should to visit?

There is a wakeboard shop in Siam Discovery on about the 3rd floor, they will probably have the gloves and maybe skates, there is also a shop Ragong way, it's a wakeboard school.

I think there may be a shop at the Cable ski along Suk road in Patters too, if not just have a chat with the locals on the lake, they may be able to steer you in the right direction.

If you get really stuck, PM me and I'll make a couple of calls.

  12. Mr Richard,

My guess is that you want to take the "Camillian Kids" on an outing to see the ships etc near Satahip. If so what a grand idea! My only advice would be to get a local tour operator here in Patters to set it all up. Get one of your buddys here in Patters to do some leg work for you. There probally some open tours in Satahip.

    Bon Voyage

    :o

Hi mate.Close but no cigar. The posse would likely include a whole bunch of big fallangs running around the beach if all works out. 555

See you in a week or so.

    Richard

As a Farang they will not let you in to the base which is where the beach is, you would need to organise it with a pretty high ranking officer for the clearance!!

  13. Where in Pattaya can I buy earmuff type ear defenders - the type that fit over the ear that you might use when drilling or whatever. Plenty of places sell earplugs but for ear defenders I've tried Carrefour, Home Pro, Index and Big C and they don't have them. The closest I got was Big C where the assistant took me from the tools section to the other side of the store and showed me some pink fluffy earmuffs. She meant well.

Homepro, Homeworks or Truevalue on Suk, top of Theppasit Rd. I would have a look in any of the little powertool shops, there is a good one at the top of South Pattaya Rd.

  14. Hi, I'm looking for a GOOD short term serviced apartment for around 2 months, I may need 6 or 8 apartments if the place is really nice! Nearer the town the better but need good access to the ring road.

Budget wise, up to about 30,000 baht a month.

    Thanks guys.
