  1. It is for marriage but a non imm O is a non imm O!! There is nothing on the visa its self to say why I have it. I also have friends here working with WP's on retirment visas!!

I am just about to get my 3rd WP this year!!!

You are right Andyadam:i am sorry. What documents you need for obtain it?

next month i have to start work as a baker for an italian bakery:can i obtain the wp?Thank's a lot.

I don't have a clue, I fill the forms in and hand over the photos, a week later we gat a visit from the WP people and I sign it!! It's all taken care of by the employer.

  2. I live just outside Pattaya and the Tarantula count in my garden so far is 5, the largest was about 10cm. Last night I got a phone call from the guy across the road just to see what he had found, must have been mummy/daddy to my spiders, it was close to 8 inches across!!!!!

  3. I dont for the life of me know why they stopped Thais owning guns cos there are enough illegal weapons out there you only have to read the pattaya news.

When did they do this, we bought a shotgun a couple of months ago, no problem with the permit.

  4. I travel with tools quite often through airports, have had a few "questions" but no real trouble.

I wouldnt bother with the drills, flog them at home and replace them hear if they are power drills, battery drills, bring 'em!! But remember......220/240 volt power here, if you're coming from the UK just change the plugs but North America check to see if your chargers are dual voltage.

I have worken on jobs when they ship a container of tools from the US and can't use them!!!!!!!

If you import them through a frieght company, you may have to pay duty, travel with them and you should be ok.

BTW good tools are hard to find here and when you can find them they are expensive!!!!!!!

  5. HEALTH QUESTION & ANSWER SESSION

Q: I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life; is this true?

A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it... Don't waste

them on exercise . Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart

will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life of

your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap.

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?

A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and

corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an

efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat

chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable).

And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of

    vegetable products.

Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?

A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that

means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of the

goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms up!

Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?

A: Well, if you have a body and you have fat, your ratio is one to one. If

you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise

    program?

A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain...Good!

Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?

A: You're not listening....Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil. In

fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad for

    you?

Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the

    middle?

A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should

only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?

A: Are you crazy? HELLO Cocoa beans! Another vegetable. It's the best

    feel-good food around!!

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?

A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.

Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about

    food and diets.

    And remember:

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving

safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in

sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly

used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO, What a Ride!"

  6. I think the answer may be here!!!!

    Prisoner thread

"Another case I am following at the moment involves a guy from the United Kingdom. In a state of deep depression (he was having problems with a Thai girlfriend who just stole all his money) he got drunk in one of the bars at the airport. The waiter was verbally abusing him (according to witnesses) and the UK guy picked up a knife from the counter top and stabbed the waiter. The Thai man was in hospital for four days and has now fully recovered. The UK guy was charged with ATTEMPTED MURDER. This happened back in October 2006. His courtcase has only just started and he has been in prison up until this time. He hasn't coped at all with the prison ordeal and often isn't aware of what is happening around him"

I love this picture. How many attractive young women would be tending to this guy for love or money back home? This pic sums up why they come, and why they will continue to come.

With a bit of luck his wife and sister (I'm talking about 1 girl BTW) will see the pic and story!!!!

  8. I have at time worked in and around the jungle near Chiang Mai, antivenin/antivenom is a must for the medics with us. We also have a snake wrangler to take care of the little beasts. On 1 day he removed 4 "life enders" where we were working, 2 of them were green!

At home I have had a few snakes in the garden and so far only killed 1 (very angry cobra), I have a very long stick with a wire loop on the end, failing that it's the rifle!!

  9. Snakes I can deal with, I have a "snake stick" to remove them alive (which I have done in the past) and an air rifle to deal with the big nasty ones!!!!!

Back to the spiders, according to some of the articles I have read, these are a very aggresive spider and have mild venom (worse for a baby) and the people that keep these things as pets advise against handling them.

I have so far got close enough to take a pic on macro without incident. I am however thinking about the future, if I have a breeding couple where will it end!!????

I killed the one in the pic and did feel quite bad about it, I don't think I want to take the risk of the babe of getting bitten.

If I can find a safe way to remove then I will, but they live in holes about 8" deep (no jokes please boys, keep it clean!!)

  10. I use IP Star, it's an overpriced bit of poo!!!!!! And the customer service is non existant, in fact probably the worst company I have ever dealt with!!!

If you can get a land line/cable Hi speed connection do it. IP star is only a last resort for someone who cannot do without the internet.
