Watching videos on a LG TV – from my home computer
AlwaysThere replied to tomgreen's topic in IT and Computers
Such a funny thread. Wherein the suggestions that cannot work are given positive responses and the ones that do work are ignored or criticised unduly. What an odd place this is. -

DLNA can work, though probably easier to use Plex/Jellyfin/EMBY. With your other suggestion, you would have to Cast from another device, since you cannot install VLC to the TV. -

I'm guessing from the lack of a step by step guide, that you have realised that your suggestion doesn't work. After all your unnecessary critique, Plex is the solution that best suits the criteria given. Alternatives; https://jellyfin.org & https://emby.media -

I still don't understand. How do they play the media stored on their laptop via the LG TV using CX? Step by step please. -

Why the exaggerating? Quick Start This quick-start is the fastest way to set up and start using your very own Plex Media Server. Should you need more detailed instructions, the links provided should help! Setting Up and Installing the Plex Media Server Download and run the installer for Plex Media Server. Tip!: It’s important to understand that Plex Media Server does not have its own graphical user interface. When you run the server on your computer, NAS, or other device, you won’t see a window open with a “server UI” or similar. Instead, you use our web app to manage your server. Using Plex for the First Time The very first time the server runs, it should launch a browser to sign you in (or create a new account) and start the Setup Wizard. Completing the Plex Media Server Setup The short Setup Wizard will help you configure your server and account. It will also help you create and add media to your libraries. There is often some preparation of files needed, but you can set up a test library now and rebuild it at any time. Installing Plex Apps Once the server is running, you can download and install apps for any of your devices. Exploring Plex After your devices are connected, there is plenty of other functionality to explore! -
Don't waste your money on the Tourist SIM. Why pay 1200 baht for one month of 8 to 20Mbps? Don't just throw money at things and hope for the best. NT SIM 599 for six months might be better in your router. You should check what's best.

Watching videos on a LG TV – from my home computer

Rather than arguing with me, you could have just explained how they would play the files on their TV. Doesn't take hours with Plex and you don't need all of the features. The “Free to Use” Parts: The Server and Apps There are some details to get into, but the summary of “free” is simple: The video/music/photo media you own is yours. Of course, we don’t charge you in any way for that. The Plex Media Server is free to use. Our 'Movies & Shows' streaming service is free to all users and ad-supported. Free TV streaming is available from our ad-supported Live TV on Plex service Connect a compatible tuner and antenna to your server to let you watch over-the-air broadcasts available at your location live. (Recording of broadcasts requires a Plex Pass subscription.) All of our non-mobile, public apps are free (with the exception of Plex Labs apps). These include Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, Plex HTPC, Roku, Smart TVs, Windows & macOS computers and game consoles (PlayStation and Xbox). Even if it did take a while to set up(it doesn't), once it's done, it's done. Now please explain the procedure with CX. -

Okay, let's go with your idea. You install CX File Explorer on the PC after installing Bluestacks on the PC. That's already complicated. Then what? How do they play the media on their LG TV? With Plex they install the Media Server on the PC and the App on the TV. That's it. I cannot see how your suggested method is less complex. -
Another option if you have good reception up-country: https://www.lazada.co.th/products/6-nt-wireless-net-thunder-599-i5169617634-s21904984233.html

I haven't seen those 30 Mbps 1 year SIM. When last did you find one?
-
He would have known about the free faster 2GB of data from the ZEED SIM and that it was a 10 Mbps package. Will you insist on a refund? I think you have a case for it.

They don't want an extra TV box. Easier to just use Plex. They can even install KODI to the TV for more options. -
Is this the normal behaviour here? Where someone asks for help, but people like yourself post only unhelpful and insulting comments towards them? Why would you do that? It's their primary gateway to the Internet. Didn't you read that?
-
Did you post only to insult? @Hummin needs 200GB per month. What's your solution?

For a capped package, https://www.gomo.th/package GoMo is cheaper. 259 baht for 15 Mbps. AIS sub brand. 99 baht for SIM.
-
Did they claim that it was a more than 10 Mbps package?
-
If you've had good experiences with DTAC, take a look at https://finnmobile.io/en/promotions DTAC sub brand. They have 20 Mbps unlimited from 259 baht. No contract. 429 baht for full speed unlimited. Since you wrote that you saw 8 to 20 before, the cheaper pack might be enough. Comes with a 200 minute call bundle for 299. Found them whilst searching for unlimited data packs.
-
That's just a SIM. What's the package applied to that SIM? Should be in an SMS. The ONLY truly unlimited package I've found from AIS, is capped at 10 Mbps; 482.50 baht. If that is the one you have together with that SIM, you get 2GB per monthly top-up of at least 150 baht. So the higher speed that you are seeing is that 2GB of free data.
-
I too am looking for an unlimited package. I haven't found a prepaid full speed unlimited package from AIS. What package do you have exactly?

MP urges central bank governor to resign over call centre scams
AlwaysThere replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Single out? Are you suggesting that the MP is one of Thaksin's cronies? Does not look that way to me. Could it be that he is working on another solution to the problem? Do you think he will be more successful tackling the "call centre scams and illegal phone centre gambling operations"?
