  1. There are so many existential threats in the world; disease, environmental issues, food shortages, natural disasters. This is just one more thing added to the pile. Eventually, something will get us. Maybe we’ll live another 30 years and die of old age, but with the trajectory we’re on now, it feels more likely the amount of time we have left is something in between.
  2. Ah, a bridge too far, you say? Perhaps, but isn’t it delightful to stand on the edge and watch everyone else try to cross it anyway? Nothing like a front-row seat to humanity’s greatest overreach!
  3. Ah, Gamma, you’ve truly outdone yourself with this one. The existential dread you have laid out is nothing short of a masterpiece. Who would not be kept up at night by the thought of exponential technological and social change racing far ahead of our humble biological pace? It is the perfect recipe for sleepless nights and endless questions. But fear not. While the world hurtles toward ever greater complexity, I have taken matters into my own hands. I have enrolled in a series of advanced courses to prepare for the modern era: Quantum Mechanics for Beginners, Navigating Bureaucracy Without Losing Your Mind, and the ever-popular How to Fake Understanding of AI Ethics. By the time the singularity arrives, I plan to be the first in line claiming I knew it was coming all along. As for human existence becoming too complex, I say bring it on. When the world is too overwhelming, I will simply retreat to my happy place, preferably somewhere with good food, a few strong drinks, and absolutely no need to worry about the latest trends in computational theory. Cheers to progress!
  4. Drivel of the highest order. Who could even come up with something like this, let alone spend the time to write it. Is there something wrong with you?
  5. So the question to ask yourself is if your Thai wife is really just a long term rental or would she still have chosen you for your great looks and charming wit if all you had was an empty bank account?
  6. Zero surprise there. Russians go Russian.
  7. I live permanently in a short time hotel in Pattaya, right next-door to a beer bar and a massage place. Two birds with one stone style living, innit.
  8. Doubt it. I don't get pickpocketed, nor do I go with Vietnamese hookers.
  9. Well isn't that special? Another white knight in shining armor rescuing another SE Asian damsel in distress.
  10. Cosco royally blows the dog's b*llocks. Only mingers and tossers of thee highest order shop there.
  11. Well, they used to call me bar boy until I got banned from so many bars in Chiang Mai prior to Covid for drinking so much and often needing to be escorted back home. But they usually just call me Short-timer for the last few years. Maybe because of my stature, or possibly because of something else, but I'm not exactly sure. But I don't mind the name. I guess it kind of suits me in some way. Have you ever gone by any other names besides Colin?
  12. From my short time on this Forum so far, this BarBoy character appears to act very much like Trump. Lies and inflates the truth, makes up everything as he goes, poor at covering his tracks, comes up with insulting names for many other posters, praises posters who admire him, and attacks any who don't. Total Trumpian narcissistic behavioral disorder. Is there anything else about this BarBoy poster that I am not aware of?
  13. https://www.thedailybeast.com/cybertruck-bomber-said-he-felt-like-batman-in-rented-tesla-before-vegas-blast/ Cybertruck Bomber to Ex: My Tesla Makes Me Feel ‘Like Batman’ The Cybertruck bomber shared a rave review for the Tesla car he later blew up in Las Vegas on New Year’s Day, writing that the futuristic vehicle had him feeling like a superhero. Matthew Livelsberger, 37, messaged his ex-girlfriend Alicia Arritt in the days before the explosion that killed him and injured six others outside the Trump International Hotel, according to the Denver Gazette. “I rented a Tesla Cybertruck. It’s the s---,” he texted Arritt on December 29 after renting the Tesla truck in Denver. “I feel like Batman or halo,” he added seven minutes later, referencing the sci-fi military video game. “How fast is it?” Livelsberger’s ex asked of the Cybertruck. “Ungodly,” he replied. The Gazette wrote that Arritt, a single mother, was surprised to hear from the U.S. Army Green Beret as she and Livelsberger had broken up three years before. “I just want everyone to know that Matt was the kindest man I ever knew,” she told the publication. “He got me through a difficult time.” She said she had no idea why he would blow up the vehicle, and knew him as an honorable man who had bought his mother a house when she fell ill. She described Livelsberger as a conservative who loved his country, but claimed his behavior changed when he returned from a Middle East tour of duty after suffering a traumatic brain injury. (She also said he had two back surgeries stemming from his years as a paratrooper.) Arritt, from Colorado Springs, said she was an Army nurse stationed in Germany when she met Livelsberger in 2018 after he was divorced from his first wife, Sara. The New York Post reported that the soldier’s second wife broke up with him on December 26 after allegedly discovering he had cheated on her. Neighbors said Livelsberger and his second wife recently had a baby. “He seemed like a normal guy. His wife is awesome, too. I never expected anything like that. I would never have thought it would have been him,” Cindy Helwig told the Gazette.
  14. Does anyone know if Big Bambu Pure Hemp Rolling Papers can be purchased in Thailand? These are rolling papers made in Spain by one of the oldest rolling paper company in the world and which has been making them for over 250 years already.
  15. She might be frying something using shrimp paste. The smell is wretched. The first time somebody showed me that stuff it was hard to even believe that it was a food item.
  16. I don't think anyone should be producing any kind of smoke in a condo. Whether it's from a joint, a cigarette, a cigar, cooking food, etc. Shouldn't be permitted.
