  1. If he appears to Airline agents like he can't make it, able to sit upright taking care of himself, it might not be allowed. Get a fit to fly with assistance (the daughter escort) certificate from a Doctor and no problems. Book business class
  2. CAREFUL Like the TDAC sites that emerged There is a FBAR site, what is actually a paid service that comes out on top of google searches. Beware of .us vs .gov. The web form looks real good, until it asks to upload photo ID and credit card. $327 for a what is a free government report. These thieves probably just harvest data of those scammed to be sold to third parties and file nothing! See screenshot
  3. The problem with British Comedy is they don't do Irony or Sarcasm Just over the top slapstick, and parody. Monty Python was brilliant though especially the naughty bits. Imagine seeing this as a little kid in US on newly launched "cable TV" The Topless Newsagent (Flying Circus): In Season 1, Episode 6, a topless newsagent (played by Sheila Sands) works in a shop, acting as if her state of dress is entirely mundane, while characters interact with her without breaking character.
  4. Once I was watching one of those old Samurai movies, maybe it was Kurosawa. One of the characters was dying, can't remember if from battle or sickness. The subtitle read "But, I have not had my fill of liquor and dancing girls" I
  5. Maybe this is it. Authorities determined 60 days did not increase tourism at all but gives malefactors more time to operate without hassle. It is a shame because I don't think many aged Westerners in particular are coming to Thailand to make mule account fraud, prostitute themselves on lower Suk or sell drugs but the retired who want to Snowbird the whole winter away in Thailand can still apply for a tourist visa then do the 30 day extension.
  6. So instead of 800k in dead money sitting Thai bank I can now qualify for a one year extension based on purchasing another Condo priced at least 3M Baht at time of purchase? I just saw some curios article on another online Thai site showing Phuket officials claiming this was too low and would attract riff raff and criminal activity.
  7. That is true. But more criminals have long rap sheets back home and never be allowed in Thailand in the first place.
  8. Vast savings? Next time OP apply for non-O online. Easy. You will have 90 days. Open Bank account. Then do one year extension of stay. Visa exempt is for the birds.
  9. The thought is to be helpful. But this confused dullard was quite likely to be a person like you, apt to respond with some predictable and pretentious discourtesy.
  10. The moment he kicked the tail light he should have been arrested, would have saved his life. ICE just drove away. I do think there was something wrong with this guy and he was a time bomb on the edge of committing a serious criminal act, with that piece of his. But when he was executed he was doing nothing illegal.
  11. The title of the post regards tourists not alcoholics. A majority come from countries that do not have multiple "Buddhist holidays" and one election after another. One or two years ago I saw a foreign lady filling her basket in BigC Extra during the 2-5PM period. Obviously avoided the signs and went behind the ropes to enter the huge alcohol zone. I almost said something, decided to either mind my own business or allow auntie to discover the unique contradictions of Thailand on her own.
  12. Of course not. Sure others will come here to argue that Israel would have found another excuse to steal territory. But if the sensible thing was done, accepting their new neighbors side by side in peace, and there had not been a war instigated by 4 or 5 Arab armies the indigenous inhabitants would be sitting there in the West Bank completely secure under the Jordanian flag or another Arab sovereign flag of some sort.
  13. Good luck with that. Obviously there are still irrelevant anti-semites in USA 🫵 MAGA is completely pro- Jewish and Trump is the greatest friend Israel has ever had in government anywhere in the world where if there is still another safe country it is the USA. We will see how many UK Jews vote with their feet and take up asylum claims with the US Dept. of State.
  14. I'm here to enjoy info about expat life in Thailand not get on these political debates. But since there are so many people who think Jews should get out of UK. A community who have lived there for thousand years. A UK until which until recently has a reputation for religious tolerance in modern history. Well maybe that's just another reason for good or bad why the world needs an Israel. Which might not be forever but will outlast all others in the region, even if only for a brief time after their enemies big cities are reduced to smoking holes in the desert. Backed 100 percent by the US militarily and, please look up the "Samson Option".
  15. Like I posted before. It has been always harder for American's Thai spouse to get a "visitor" visa versus a Family visa. I don't know about know about now but an alien with US spouse, the couple could say they "changed their mind" now the spouse wants to apply for residence. They were not deportable unless had comitted serious crimes or prove they lied about intent. Seen as gaming the system, then also black mark on the consular officer who let them in as a visitor so they just deny. Of course many people who are living in Thailand would want their spouse to visit the US with no intent of staying forever. Makes no sense.
  16. This is going back 20 plus years but Delta once had Portland-Narita service one reason it stopped was the Japanese businessmen were calling it "Deportland". One of my friends used to work in a Japanese trading firm ag products like wheat corn, animal feed. Supposedly the local Immigration had a different interpretation of the visa exempt for short business trips Also Guam has a bad reputation with women travelers, it's not untrue some were flying in visa exempt from asia and working as Hostesses but the American ladies who come to be on contract to be strippers got to audition at the airport. Strip searched for drugs!
  17. Not revoke travel, require Visas, minimum income savings and criminal checks By the way, Hawaiian one of my perfectly respectable Thai friends had a wonderful time with ICE at HNL airport after finally (Refused two times before) applying visitor visa to USA. She was separated from her husband and grilled. Accused of prostitution with zero evidence and warned not to run away like every Thai woman wants to escape her privileged life to become an Ala Moana "massagei" therapist.
  18. It had usually been harder, not easier, for American Thai couple to get the Thai lady a visitor visa versus a spouse or fiance visa as trying to "game the system" to never leave once landed.
  19. Thailand should immediately revoke visa exempt travel for US passports.
  20. I never smoked in Thailand. In the 80s we had something in USA they called "Thai Stick". I don't know what it really was but the cheaper stuff was called Columbian , brown with seeds. The good stuff came from Northern California. Bright Green with red pistils no seeds. I looked at it once under a magnifying glass it was covered with white crystals. I hear the stuff these days they sell at dispensaries is much stronger and can knock you on your duff if you are not ready for it. The weed the dude had was dark green actually, another reason I now think it has not been dried throughly. I trashed it.
  21. Yeah, I didn't mean it that way though. Maybe I said bag. 😀Twenty five years ago I checked out of a Thai Guest house where backpackers were smoking pot. I had no desire to get associated with that, and any draconian enforcement and Thai jails. But when I got home the next day I toasted the end. I had a lighter in my drawer to light tea candles. The raw product smelled nice but smelled bad burning , took a small puff, bad taste. I think it was not dried properly according to my proffesional opinion from about 35 years ago. "Dirt Weed"
  22. I smelled some spicy herbs on Saturday a farang man in a bar openly rolling what we used to call doobies back in the 80s From what I would reckon was a "lid" or ounce sized baggie (28.3 grammes for rest of world). Feeling rather Merry I sad something like "Nice looking sack man, cheers". A few minutes later he handed me one.
  23. I saw some underclass types do that in USA. One guy just unclipped the retractable belts from the stantions, threw them down on the ground violently and two moved in without replacing the belts as if it was completely normal behavior. Nothing was done to stop them by security or airline agents. They were not actually cutting anyone off, they just could not be bothered to do any S turns. Must be the same kind of people who leave empty Starbucks cups and garbage on supermarket shelves. Born of a extreme self-centered attitude and disrespectful
