  1. The US allows up to 125000USD not to be taxed. After that it is taxed here in US and in Japan.
  2. I think you for your kind reply. For me a 50 year ... well, ok, again I thank you.
  3. All my papers are in Japanese. I will try Express Translations. Is this the one I should go to... https://www.expresstranslationservice.co.th/cms.php?id_cms=6&id_lang=1
  4. If you think that is bad, here in Japan one must have Japanese proficiency ( starting in 2027 ) to get permanent residency. Now that is a tough one. Get ready to see an increase of language schools now. By the way Chulalongkorn ( https://www.chula.ac.th/en/ ) with ChulaMOOC offers a free Thai language course.
  5. After marriage, should she apply for Social Security card and how does the "Green Card" come into place? Thanks.
  6. A little back ground I live in Japan (permanent resident ) My income is Social Security Thai lady Government retired worker real estate owner Will get married in Thailand. Location is near DMK airport
  7. Oh, and by the way, I have the Thai driver license for car and motorcycle. That was one of the first things she helped me with. Thinking of the future "thinking of the future together, I guess we can call that".
  8. Not married yet. Going on 3 year Japan to Thailand relationship with her. She's happy, but ... she did keep the telephone number I gave her for the city office when that day arrives. We "always" eat out every day. Not cheap either, but what the heck and we try new places to eat. Most are worth a re-visit in the future. We both love to hop in the car and go 3 hour one way distances just to see places she hasn't been to. For me, my free time I'm a cyclist so I bum around town while she stays home and watches Netflix. I'm not a TV fan at all. I've met all her closes friends over the past 2 years. That is a good sign. Thai women don't do that unless... ( you guys know what I mean ). She understands that we both are retired and we get pension. We get by on it. But reality, one needs about 65000 baht a month to live the way we currently do. Somehow I manage with my small pension. My rent for an apartment is 2000 baht or $68 a month. The landlord reduced the rent for me this time around also. Why... I pay on time, whether I'm in Japan or Thailand. Since I also rent in Japan ( university student size apt. ) it is very low cost. I do want to see if I can actually stay in Thailand, but I understand health insurance for me is very high cost. In Japan we have National Health Insurance with "NO" deductible and very affordable. Since we both have what each other want in our lives, the compatibility is working. Her parents live with her and I have adapted to her family situation. ( Strict Buddhist upbringing ) So we go to the Buddhist Temple north of Bangkok and bring water for the Monks and sit down and chat with the people in the Temple. We also bring candies from Japan to the children orphanages in Bangkok and near Jomtien. To sum it up. Life is a challenge, but that is what makes the day in our lives "always on the go". Thank you for reading.
  9. Maybe we should add inflation with your comment. A stupid Hersey candy bar was 100 yen not too long ago, now it is 217 yen and size got smaller and thinner. But that might be another story though. Be careful when buying Hersey's candy these days, check the country its made it. China even made its way into Oreo cookies. wtf.
  10. The new laws in some States are the reason. I once read that you'll own nothing and be happy. Telsa is moving out of California. The headquarters relocation was primarily driven by California's high cost of living, high tax rates, and what Musk viewed as an anti-business regulatory environment
  11. no link, just common sense what other country says "come in" we give you everything free. try that in Japan and they laugh at you at the city office
  12. Tariffs are good, if they weren't other countries would not have them either. People, wake up. Trump is on the American people side, but now I can see the increase of "yes means no, and no means yes". Seriously, the people around the world are really going mad... was it because of the fake Covid shots, hell, even the Chinese in China are suffering, like over 40 million of them are on Risperdal these days.
  13. I've been to Hammasat University Medical Hospital and it truly is a very sad story to see even the younger kids now permanently in wheelchairs or visiting the dept. where the brain has been damaged. I am totally in agreement with confiscating the bike or vehicle. PERIOD. But, sadly my real life experience tells me something I wish I didn't write, "confiscating" and also a permanent loss of driving privileges. I see many and I mean many men using a bicycle these days near the police station near Don Mueang Airport. I'm a cyclist and I currently have both car and motorcycle license for Thailand. I still love motorcycles and will continue to use them for my transportation.
  14. SKYPE is now called TEAMS
  15. The one in bangkok rents the car 200 baht, motor cycle 125 cc is provided, maybe it was 100 baht for me. 50questions 45 or above pass. Motorcycle test written is a bit different. Please study. The office there gives you a qr code for practice, but about 20% of the questions that you need to know are in the video you must watch. Good luck.
  16. Whats App is free and so is skype too.
  17. You do realized he used his owned money in doing that. His Presidential income that is. Which is about $500000 a year I believe.
