  1. As a seasoned female kindergarten teacher in Thailand, most schools prefer female K teachers because of the mothering aspect, and females tend to have more patience with children if they've had children of their own. I found in Bangkok that high quality female farang K teachers are paid a higher salary than say those teaching primary or matium. Keeping these very young childrens attention is an on-going task and you need to have many tricks up your sleeve to be a quality teacher.

  2. I taught at 7 schools in Thailand, bilingual and international. One school in Phuket and six in Bangkok, not one of them had the contract in English & Thai, only Thai language, which of course is illegal, and unbinding, so I can walk out anytime without notice, which I did once because of a bad attitude towards me by the 2 owners and Singaporian principal.

  3. When it comes to more expensive things like say car repairs, I have my close friend Charlie take me to a mechanic he knows, trust and will charge me the Thai price. Other things like clothes and such I go to places like Big C, Tesco Lotus and etc. where I pay the same as anyone else there. Those small mom & pop stores are to often a rip off, especially where the items are not clearly marked with a price tag.

  4. When they play music at parties or at home, they play it so loud it is distorted and sounds bad.

I agree, not only that but most Thai's don't know the difference between loud distorted music and undistorted music, caused by over driveing the amplifier or speakers.
