Look at the cost of living in Thailand, about a third of in the USA, i was a teacher for 7 years here and final salary was 50,000 baht a month plus tuitoring on the side, so I easily made $2000 a month, with my house rent $225 a month, utilities/internet $100 a month, car paid cash 50,000 baht and auto insurance 650 baht a year, and I'm still here after 12 years retired easily on SSB, summer all year round!!

Drag queens are males who dress in female clothing, and are he's, not she's, only post op transgendered males are she's.

Every human being is psychic to some degree or another depending on how many times they have reincarnated on planet earth and how spiritually advanced they are. If you totally reject it all, then it's only common sense that your spiritual advancement is minimal.

If you don't understand it, then you need to take some lessons in Thai culture. Every country is different, try to do this for instance in Africa and you'll probably get your head cut off.

Farangs get caught being under the influence of drugs and they go straight to jail with huge fines, while thai monks get a slap on the wrist, anyone see a double standard here?

I was a Maintenance Coordinator for many years in the USA and I was always up to date on preventive maintenance. For the most part Thaiand gets an F grade when it comes to preventive maintenance, many home owners would rather let outside wood on a building rot, instead of painting it to last longer.

Duh, it's hotter than usual and the snakes are seeking water, which they can sense in the air, plenty of water in the homes, same as roaches do.

April 27th was suppose to be the hottest day of the year and I was driving on Chao Fa west out of Chalong going north, and at the stop light where there's a organic veggies shop, the police had the road blocked off and all traffic diverted to Chao Fa East, it was a huge back up and took at least and hour to get to Villa Dowroong.

Better to role it slightly and put it in a tube, or put some of that thick plastic sheet with it. Postal employees have little time to read other than the address, let alone added messages.

It pays to have a good Thai friend who has been in the area a longtime and knows many tradesman, but even then it takes time to find a good reliable auto mechanic, AC technician, dentist and etc. Generally speaking just about all Thai people are late for appointments, and I was actually told this by a Thai person. I America the reason why so many say carpenters are ther one week then gone the next, is because they do more than one job at a time. There is quality workmanship in Thailand, but you have to look for it patiently.

Quitting and taking a break from politics are two different, if she's going to quit, then quit, don'tcarry on blah, blah, blahing about it. This family has proven to many times all ready it can't be trusted.

I taught at 4 schools in Bangkok, bilingual/international and one in Phuket, then retired 4 years ago. I know all to well how much of a scam these schools in Thailand are, hireing unqualified Filipino teachers at 13,000B a pop, copying all the school books for the students, which is against the law, serveing sub standard food for lunches, and using lots of Burmese labor. It's big business and the owners are rakeing in the dough.

Few of the boys and Thai teachers will give you any respect, only the girls are the serious ones about getting ahead in life. The boys will constantlly give you the finger behind your back and say to your face
"Your father is dead" (in thai). Best bet is to eventualy get your TEFL degree and look for a bilingual school at the beginning of the school year that is desperate to fill a position. I taught at several schools for 7 years before retireing, in Phuket and Bangkok. At bilingual, international & thai government schools, K1-3, P1-3, and M1.

Having good bolt door locks, certain lights in the house on night timers, and close good friend neighbors to keep an eye out, are better protection ideas.

Peoples pets wouldn't be at risk is they didn't let them roam the streets and kept them inside at night, instead of letting them bark all night keeping neighbors awake, all the barking just lets the theives know where the pride goods are. Those who allow their pets to roam the street and bark all night don't deserve pets.

Love is universal and all Spiritual Avatars taught Love above all other teachings, whatever the differences between religions regarding the after life has no bareing here, and you should have no concern regarding it until you get there and discover the Real Truth, before you reincarnate once again in graduating beyond the pit falls of religion.

I'm a female farang and have been here for 12 years, and find the total opposite. For the most part it depends on how you approach the Thai's, as for myself it's always with a smile and a nice comment about how nicely their dressed, their beautiful baby & etc. When driving my car I smile and give a friendly nod to everyone, in addition to a wave. I'm also a retired teacher, so I get alot of respect from mostly everyone. I always look directly in their eyes while smileing, and just about 100% of the time get a friendly responce.

Farangs standing for the Thai National Athem is out of courtesy, just like in any other country, also like standing for the King at a cinema before the movie. Thai immigration just about everywhere is like the wild west.
