Keep in mind that a few years ago the DTV didn't exist. I doubt you could get half that now. The primary value now seems to be the golf and transportation perks. Or perhaps more if you can find someone who is willing to pay up for the certainty of 30 years.

Check if your bank lets you create digital card numbers for online purchases. All my US based credits cards have this feature, so when I make an online purchase, and I don't 100% trust the company, I can create a special card number just for that purchase. As soon as the purchase is done, I can deactivate that card number.

That is quite obvious because entering 50 miles for X and 3959 miles for R into your equation d=R−R2−x2 would give a ridiculously large drop value of greater than the diameter of the earth. Any high school student could see that.
