Thank you for saving me the trouble of asking this really obvious question. I am an Open Water PADI diver and have seen reefs all over the world. Of course, I want them protected, but unless a diver has this cream literally "in hand" how (a) is an arrest made (b) a charge filed (c) the case tried? Oh, my bad ... we don't even PRETEND to have due process in the Land of Surprises!!! Just "Pay me or we deport you." And they wonder why tourism form the West is dying.

Across the board and in many different scenarios, Thailand seems to think that foreigners are psychic, or read the daily government updates, to be 100% up to speed on "laws" . The thing is, they require us to constantly update them where we are. We can't even use a bank without a verified sim card registration. So, it is 2025, do you think they could (A) Have a website with Foreigner advisors to write in plain English what ALL the rules are? (2) Send quarterly e mails will regulation updates? (3) Send text messages for "urgent updates" ? Oh, wait, the nurse is here and says it is time for a double dose of my medication. Never mind ... got a bit dizzy there.

14 years of Non Immigrant O, with funds at Bangkok Bank ... never an issue, and NEVER the hint of "3) The infamous 4-months freeze of funds used for an extension, that only Bangkok Bank imposes in return for issuing a letter for immigration." Frankly, this sounds like pure BS.

I wonder if the USA Tariffs and de minimis exemption, which allowed shipments valued under $800 to enter the USA duty-free, (came to an end globally on Friday) ... will create a supply glut for Samsung and they will dump their phones here and ASEAN at meaningful discounts. Might it be worth it to wait a week or two to see if there is a "fire sale?" (PS: I love Samsung / great company / excellent products)

If "Democrat Party in America claims "higher taxes means more money"..... for the government." would mean they are attached to realty and understand how accounting works. Unlike .... 555! That is my EXACT location! I think when i take the sojourn to Immigration in November for my annual Non Imm O ritual, I will ask them if that office accepts the mail-in solution. The fact is, it has been a loooonnngg time since I left The Kingdom, but "People do not plan to fail, they fail to plan." Thanks again for the valued info!

I wish more people understood this mail in option. People like me, living in the North East, have a one hour drive (one way) to the closest immigration office so this saves SO MUCH hassle if / when we leave the Kingdom and then return. Thanks --- as always Tod --- for your expert and clear advice!

Because of the US changing the rules, sometimes in the same DAY. The Americans do not have an organized, linear, proven infrastructure to manage TARIFF / TAX on packages less than $800, and Thailand is basically saying "Don't make your half baked moronic daily tariff changes our problem, call us when you can hit your own a$$ with both hands"

In what way do higher taxes increase wages? As prices increase (Remember, Tariffs are a TAX American consumers pay) people consume less products. That means less people are needed at shipping ports, less truck drivers, less material handlers, less workers in the stores, and less Americans spending money on goods, services, home improvements, hobbies, vacations ... etc. etc. etc ... HOW do higher prices increase wages, when higher prices create higher unemployment? HOW do higher prices increase American buying power???? I am pretty sure you do not know how tariffs are paid, and who pays them. Right now, Americans are in a buying / shipping frenzy to get as much as possible in inventory BEFORE the tariffs need to be paid. In about 6 months, everything will grind to a halt, and prices for Americans will be about 15% higher. An increase of 15% is called "INFLATION"
