  1. Clearly a minimum 200,000 baht as the report said hundreds of thousands.
  2. Taking the stitches out. Funny the difficult bit is a few thousand baht but the long term post operative care is hundreds of thousands.
  3. I was just about to comment on that. Who writes this rubbish.
  4. Yes the UK has large coal reserves that is why the UK imports most of the coal that it uses. The UK has no facilities to produce coke for British Steel and I believe the recent deliveries came from Australia. Can somebody point out the Ed Miliband that bulk tankers don't run on fresh air.
  5. Ed Miliband is an idiot. His latest crazy idea is to have differential energy costs of the north of the UK and the south. The south being higher of course. So those on fixed national incomes living in the south, like pensioners, are screwed.
  6. Why does the email notification say "Man Dies After Concrete Slab Falls on Pickup Truck on Rama II". I read the whole article waiting for the bit where he died of his injuries but it only mentions injured.
  7. And on another thread "Foreign Lamborghini Driver Sparks Outrage in Phuket Over Reckless Behaviour". Thais are outraged by the behaviour of some foreigners but they don't understand how outraged foreigners are to Thais me me me culture and complete disrespect for emergency vehicles.
  8. Did I miss the post about what we are not being told and he probably deserved it?
  9. I have have had a Kasikorn account going on for 11 or 12 years. I am only a tourist and use it to send money to Thailand when I am on holiday. I did notice that when ever I log on or use an ATM it says Savings Account but appears to work like a current account. So what exactly is the difference between a current and a savings account?
  10. Says everything there is to say about the hatred of the British by the EU. "and pressure from France and other member states to uphold a “Buy European” policy." Where do the French think Japan is?
  11. CN is China I guess. "flee tyrannical govts, oppression" you mean just like China? At least China bullies countries to take back its own refugees. May be the UK should bully France more to take back the ones crossing to the UK.
  12. The trouble is it goes read only on my computer. So have to uninstall and down load again or buy a package.
  13. Still free but after a while it becomes read only unless you buy a package. But if you uninstall the programme then re-install it the free clock starts ticking again.
  14. It comes up all the time here but what is a Netizen?
  15. And despite all the surveillance https://metro.co.uk/2024/04/14/heathrow-baggage-handlers-haul-stolen-items-20644482/ Very lucky to get a suspended sentence.
  16. When somebody works at a major airport and is aware just how much surveillance there is.
  17. The Victorians got the whole of Britain connected by rail in a lot less than a century. Using Thai expertise how long would the US have taken to connect the East and West coasts?
  18. Yes it did take a long time to get initial approval however the Thai rail ling has already started. It is only the next stage. Mind you the UK has ****ed up the last 5 miles from Old Oak to Euston. A bit like ending the Thai link at Rangsit then everybody piling onto a commuter train.
  19. I have no idea. Bank holiday this week end. I will check next week.
  20. Think how long it is going to take to do the 1000km from Bangkok to the Malaysian border.
  21. I read that as construction starting in 2031. Six years from approval to construction start?
  22. So many pot holes in the UK needing to take a wheel off is quite common. Up until last year my car was old enough to have a spare. Now the car I have has no spare, not even a space saver. And not run flat tyres. How useless is that.
  23. So was it 40 feet or 20 feet? Makes a difference. I would have thought 40 feet was survivable.
  24. I had the shingles vaccination about 4 years ago. I was never told that I needed a second shot. The only problem was I was due get a covid vaccination at the same time then there was a last minute decision not to have covid and shingles at the same time.
