Do you live in a Tourist Ghetto or out in the sticks?
Didn't we do this yesterday? When I stated that you don't even live in Thailand and challenge you to take a photo. You absolutely refuse to take the photo and then told me that I needed to take a photo. So here we have you as the liar once again. I'm asking you about the picture that you posted. You said that I eat crap and that you eat better. What are you eating precisely?

It's KhaoHom. It's the more formal name for rice. It means fragrant rice ... Like HomMali

Are you bitter about western women?
Western women in Thailand tend toward entitled, bitter, fat and miserable. They bring all of their head trips and insanity in big bags to Thailand. Anyone remember that teacher and I believe it was Chonburi that locked herself in her room for days and was having a mental breakdown? typical I often wonder how a person could be so fat after living in Thailand for years. Today I happen to go to tops supermarket. I rarely go there only for some special greens. Anyway, saw some Large Marge surprisingly in the veggie section. She bought cucumbers 😳. Her basket was unsurprisingly full of bread and baked goods 🤯 They dress slovenly. Often in mumu type dresses or tired and way too much skin for their girth. With the exception of the tiny minority that are qualified - they are hell to work with. They never last... stay a few years and leave. Never hire a western woman she will do precisely that.

Indeed. It's your username. Having been in South and East Asia for 35 years I lean toward the long game.

It's usually this sort of lifestyle that makes one a Short timer 😉

Do you live in a Tourist Ghetto or out in the sticks?
None of the above. I live on the Blue Line corridor and love it. Lots of pretty girls in the half dozen malls, chock full of delicious Thai food, no farang. Open green spaces. Thai prices. MRT miles better than bloody BTS. Don't move here there is no farang food!! Go away now. Danger!!

Men’s Shirts US XL
I'm guessing you're an XXL here. Hard to guestimate these days because everything is extrasized up. Shirts: Try Uniqlo (4-700), AIIZ (3-600), Yuedpao for inexpensive hq Ts (150-400). AIIZ is my go to shirt store. I have half dozen + of these. Robinson's is very pricey and poor value generally. Good clothes they're just ridiculously priced. HM is total junk. Giordano is just ok, but poor value. They had some excellent shorts for 990 that I was eyeing but they just never went down to a price point I was comfortable with. By the time they hit around b600 the selection was sketchy and I just went to Uniqlo as they were having a big sale. You might find something at Muji. Lacoste has nice polo's, but always ungodly overpriced. In all the malls along Ratchada corridor there are pop-up shops you might find shirts, Ts about b300-400 Make a trip to BKK where you can shop with selection and get your size right. It's a good time to buy clothes, lots of sales. None of the stuff is cheap or fair value but it's less expensive than the ridiculous full retail pricing If you need help or bit of guidance message me. EDIT I just bought a bunch of shorts at Uniqlo on sale 599. I'm also 36 resized 35. I'd recommend the Chinos although I almost went for the slim fit. I just looked too gay wearing them. They're nice in that they're not that typical Chino fabric. Do not under any circumstances by cargo shorts for <deleted>sake! EDIT2 in a lot of those pop-up shops there are rayon shirts which are quite thin but I don't like the way they hang on me. I'm also okay with a bit of poly insurance but I don't want the whole bloody thing to be made out of plastic. Anyway, these shirts are everywhere and can be found for as little as 300 baht

Activists Accuse Thai PM Paetongtarn of Crimes Punishable by Death
Well, Canadian economy is about the size of US NY and even more mismanaged than Thailand lol. An economy is far, far more than the strength of the nations currency. Thailand hasn't had reasonable growth for developing country in decades. Grads from top universities take years to be absorbing into the workforce Wages are stagnant despite... Large inflationary pressures Large, inefficient and ineffective bureaucracy Succession of bad governments including Military coup government. Where do you live? Not Thailand?!

I thought it would get easier here at older age
I always say the game is not to die with the most stuff , but with one baht in your pocket owing no one. Now married, that's changed somewhat, but overall philosophy not.

That is a luxury that many do not have. Consider yourself fortunate. Especially being from such a wealthy country with a well-managed sovereign wealth fund is also huge benefit

If I may be so bold.. I wonder how much living in Chiang Mai has to do with it. I've always intensely found the place utterly boring to a fault. Then you have the bad air on top of it. It's a dead city for dead people. No amount of silly motorbike rides in the mountains or whatever will change that. It's not even Thailand's second city although it's often thought of as such. Second City is Phuket or Pattaya. CM just a wasteland

This was my plan. I lived it large (35)40-50 and married at 50 (unplanned) to a 32yo. I have to laugh the guys that wait until they are not only retired but on full Social Security or pension. There's good as dead. My guess is they settle in and by the time they're pushing 70 they've got serious health concerns, can't much handle the heat nor the food and don't last. Planning is good but too much planning or plans that disallow spontaneity or simply you actually doing or taking action or bad plans.

Maybe you don't look so much as old as beat. I'm pushing 65 and treated as well as when I was 45. Even winks and smiles from many BKK ladies. Do you drink? Overweight? Skin looks like shi+, dress like shi+? You just might look like dottering old sex pest.
