I came to East Asia for adventure. The women were secondary. I'd written off marriage by early 30s. Had vasectomy at 35. Said goodbye entirely to USA save for visits by 40. TBH If the tourist has a way to avoid all means of roads and transport including tour buses and all boats. Only on public transport. Stays off Bangkok footpaths. Stays out of Pattaya and Phuket (and probably BKK) red zones. Stays well away from prostitutes, drugs, Africans and soi dogs and traditional Thai scammers. Thailand is very safe. My wife is on her second 10yr. 2nd no interview. First was given about one year into our relationship, unmarried. Owning stuff, big bank account and having kids here means nothing imo. She may be asked where you or how you support yourself. She should be prepared to answer that. I would say that a teacher just struggling to get by might have the bright idea of going to the United States and teach bringing his wife along with him. So, forewarned about that. If you're over 50 then that ? Might not arise HER corporate job with employment verification letter. Min three years employment. No kids. My wife had a passport with five or six country stamps in it.
