Here is a reminder that alongside its strikes on Iran, Israel has been continuing its attacks on Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Here is a summary of what’s been happening today in the besieged enclave: The Health Ministry reports that 90 people in Gaza have been killed and Israeli strikes have wounded 605 in the past 48 hours. https://aje.io/sz649c?update=3774474

Israel's Smotrich says victory means Gaza fully 'destroyed'
SamSaraburi replied to stevenl's topic in The War in Israel
An approach to protest by EU could be the closure of Israeli embassies and consulates, as well as suspending the operations of Israeli airline offices. These steps could serve as a diplomatic means of expressing concern. -
Lots a month ago, a real pain in the butt.

Is this the same Katz that threatened 'total devastation of Gaza'? Is this the same katz that David Lammy condemned? https://www.politico.eu/article/uk-david-lammy-rebukes-katz-israeli-defense-minister-total-devastation-gaza/ Britain’s top diplomat on Thursday condemned Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz after he threatened the “total devastation” of Gaza. -

I suggest you read this about the finance minister and the defense minister - how on earth can you say the latter is not known as far right? https://www.nytimes.com/2025/06/10/world/canada/uk-canada-sanctions-israel-smotrich-ben-gvir.html -

My point is they are all far right. It sounded like you were singling him out as being the minority. -

Who is not far right in this cabinet? Just the Finance Minister 555. Usually, the second most important Ministerial job in a government is followed by the Defense Minister. Would you say the Defense Minister is far right too? -
Sounds like you are mocking human suffering. To suggest that people in Gaza "look healthy" while starving is both cruel and disconnected from reality. Malnutrition doesn’t always show in ways that fit media stereotypes, especially in children. That doesn’t make their suffering any less real. The fact that people are still alive doesn’t mean a genocide isn’t happening. Genocide is defined by I”ntent to destroy a people”, not whether every last person has been killed.

Also on X by the UN Special Rapporteur 17 hours after its unlawful seizure and capture, the #Madleen crew remains held offshore, reportedly near Ashdod. I call on: – Israel to release them immediately, and let them sail unimpeded to Gaza; – The UK to act under its Article 94 UNCLOS duties as flag-state to ensure the safety of the crew; – Crew members’ home states (Brazil, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Turkey), to intervene to ensure the safety of their citizens. There is no legal basis for Israel’s actions. All states must uphold their obligations under the Genocide Convention—to prevent further acts of genocide and end Israel’s impunity. It should never have fallen to ordinary citizens to do what states refuse to. https://x.com/FranceskAlbs/status/1932138690484253047?t=yBYZ2pyeHt70Iwx0vJWgjA&s=19

People in Gaza have been pushed to the absolute limits of survival, says James Elder, UNICEF spokesperson in Gaza. The new system of aid distribution installed by Israel is about forcing a population to move to the south, using food as bait, he says. https://www.dw.com/en/unicef-james-elder-gaza-aid-displacement/video-72792684#:~:text=UNICEF%3A-,Gaza%20aid%20distribution%20%27a%20veneer%27%20for%20displacement,-06%3A08

As you don’t understand what administrative detainee means. https://www.btselem.org/administrative_detention In administrative detention, a person is held without trial without having committed an offense, on the grounds that he or she plans to break the law in the future. As this measure is supposed to be preventive, it has no time limit. The person is detained without legal proceedings, by order of the regional military commander, based on classified evidence that is not revealed to them. This leaves the detainees helpless – facing unknown allegations with no way to disprove them, not knowing when they will be released, and without being charged, tried or convicted. -

I said the ambassador to the UK called them hostages. You are very quick to slander anyone pointing out Israeli crimes. Try for a second to see it from both sides Do you think it’s OK to detain people with no trial? https://www.hrw.org/news/2023/11/29/why-does-israel-have-so-many-palestinians-detention-and-available-swap -

The Palestinian ambassador to the UK in the interview called the administrative detainees “hostages”. Prisoners or hostages in both sides have to be released, do you agree? In April 2022, there were 4,450 Palestinian security prisoners in Israeli prisons – including 160 children, 32 women, and over 1,000 "administrative detainees" (indefinitely incarcerated without charge) above is from Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palestinians_in_Israeli_custody also they are mistreated and tortured https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palestinians_in_Israeli_custody -
