  1. Why the false equivalence? A wise man speaks when he has something to say, a fool speaks when he has to say something.
  2. Nothing like washing down a food court meal with a bottle of cheap rice liquor and my homeless paramour grinding on my lap. Families and pearl clutchers be damned.
  3. Sounds like a mission for the Pattaya branch of the SAS.
  4. Treat the symptoms whilst nurturing the cause. Why not tighten lending standards? Because it would slow down the asset and weath being transferred from the middle class to the top class.
  5. Rearrange the deck chairs on the sinking ship instead of tightening lending standards. She's goin' down boys! She's goin' down boys, head for the lifeboats!
  6. The Cambodians are talking about marching in to Bangkok, deposing the current regime and holding proper elections, believing the Thais would appreciate it.
  7. They're conscripting foreign retirees for the Fighting 104th Geezer Brigade. Recruitment has started in Pattaya and Bangkok bars which are known to be frequented by former SAS, SEALS, and other aged hardmen. Hell, even Vinny Jones has signed up.
  8. This is like blaming problems on the Freemasons and J-ews, no self respecting person should do such a thing.
  9. The tiny hat banksters will arrive soon, with US arms shipments to both sides to follow. Fire up the propaganda machine in both countries and count the filthy lucre as the bodies pile up.
  10. Are you talking about the decision back in May that was stayed by an appeals court? The tariffs are alive and well, for the time being.
  11. Canadians have all but stopped going to the US and American liquor has been removed from government liquor stores in some provinces. It's hitting American border towns very hard. More innocent people suffering for the asinine policies of a central government. Canadian corporations are whipping up nationalism and reaping the profits, as Canadians are largely stupid and easily manipulated.
  12. Some Brits have education and a sharp wit. The rest just think they do.
  13. The winnings would be a small portion of a very large pool of money, just like any lottery. The difference is that instead of the profits going into someone else's pocket, they would go into an investment scheme that would hopefully grow over the years. Aside from corruption, my concern would be that the fund be too conservatively invested and the value of pay outs being destroyed by inflation.
  14. Nowhere did my post mention the English. Why did you think it was them?
  15. Then the trope that Thailand is full of draft dodgers must be false. Why would white, affluent Russians flee the country if they're not being drafted? I'll let you in on a secret that the Russian property manager at my condo building told me: they are avoiding the draft.
  16. This is something I've wondered about. Some restaurants must be selling at a loss, but it isn't a loss leader that can be offset by other purchases because the customer doesn't set foot in the establishment. Restaurants closing down is nothing new. This is how franchises and big money take over. They're the ones with deep enough pockets to weather downturns.
  17. Shades of Macron in this story. I wonder if Angela is also a tranny. Will the UK government deduct the gofundme amount from his benefits?
  18. Yes, and how many legitimate transactions were blocked and what were the financial and human costs of that?
  19. Long ago I had a Thai gf who told me a story about her village. One day a flock of tiny birds showed up in the village. Her nephew shot a few and made khra pao (spelling?) with them and it was delicious. Soon everybody did the same, with a predictable outcome. Like she said "then, one day no more bird" with a nonchalant attitude. Nothing was learned, no sense of self restraint or lofty ideas about conservation. The people had plenty of food to eat, so it wasn't driven by hunger. Keep the birds on the list.
  20. The World Health Organisation might drive the final nails into the Thai and global tourism industries. I'd put my eggs into a few different baskets.
  21. Are you familiar with this essay? It's brief, and to the point. I suspect the author was someone other than who is given credit for it. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discourse_on_Voluntary_Servitude
  22. Neither Cambodia nor Myanmar have anything worth invading for. Also, it's very difficult to keep what you take by force. The best scenario for keeping a territory requires it to have a well structured government. Replace the key figureheads and any in power who dissent with quislings and you've got control with minimal bloodshed.
  23. Nor did I call it that, just posed a question. What rich kids fight in any wars? They just get deferments or posted to the National Guard l, or a medical exemption (didn't some American have bone spurs?). The ones who do 'serve' do so far from enemy lines. The fact that men with resources are being drafted might indicate that Russia is more egalitarian than Western nations. There's a price to pay for saying 'no' to some government mandates, but at least that person can look at themself in the mirror and know that they stayed true to their own beliefs.
  24. I'm surprised they didn't work 'climate change' into that story as it seems to be all over everything else the government disseminates.
