Shocking- you generalise an entire faith of over 1.9 billion people based on the actions of a few of the horrors of conflict. If you truly believe that telling your neighbours you want to kill them is unacceptable, then you must hold all sides accountable for dehumanising rhetoric and violent actions. That includes not just the likes of Hamas, but also settler violence, civilian bombings, hostage-taking, and collective punishment. These all fuel the same brutal cycle of fear, hate, and revenge. No one side has a monopoly on victimhood or guilt. As for the idea that this is about “Islam” - that’s a dangerous and lazy generalisation. “Reading the book” isn’t enough. The Bible has verses about stoning people and slaughtering enemies. The Qur’an, like most sacred texts, can be interpreted peacefully or violently depending on who's doing the reading and why. But in reality, the vast majority of Muslims worldwide live peacefully, raise families, help their neighbours, and abhor the kind of violence associated with groups like Hamas or ISIS.
