As I stated No yellow book. I could have gotten a yellow book for MiL home, but I don't live there and so nixed idea as it was a bridge too far not having matching residence, tm30... That probably would have worked. With PR maybe you're allowed in blue book - as you've replied. I think that will be shaky for Thai bureaucrat bc it's non standard. Having said that it should work. As you know, general rule farang cannot be placed in blue book Good luck. **The insurance is absolutely crap. Even my PiL 30b gold card we often just pay cash bc of the hurdles. I would imagine SSO coverage upcountry even more dire than BKK but possibly less wait depending

How utterly random. Ok, what how have you planned for that ??

Hospital deposits and insurance
Funny, when I lived in Pattaya 25 years ago it had that reputation as well. Bangkok is a very good but notoriously expensive hospital. No surprise it spread to Pattaya.

You MUST own a condo (have yellow book in your name). Rule about 1++ year old now. The insurance is absolutely sh+ and should only be used in dire, expensive emergency. Insane amount of waiting and only worst hospitals I paid in for years only to be shot down. Don't bother. Fing Thailand. ..

*Medical tattoo* in Bangkok or Pattaya?
Anyone know of someone / shop that does medical tattoos? This is where they tattoo a scar with ink that matches your skin. The tattoo area is over a scar to minimize the appearance. Thank you

Hun Sen Responds to Revocation of Honorary Degree
Such a ridiculous petty thing to do from an under average university - even for Thailand I'm sure Hun Sen lost sleep over it

Lived in Thailand longer than any other place in my life!
It looks good in hindsight, but only because the powers that be blew up the economy. Absentee landlord nothing but problems. All that inflation since 08 never should have happened

Taxes: Filing and Free SW
Thanks. My reading tells me to do the same. Wife has visa. No resident visa, GC, never worked US. As for a tax number for her I've always wanted to keep her entirely out of the tax system. If I'm married filing separately it's same tax profile as filing single, divorced, etc not married correct? What is gained by tin if *filing separately*? Thanks

Tax Break Bonanza: Thais to Benefit from New Foreign Income Rule
Exactly. A favorite student of mine is working in a boutique wall st brokerage house. Does he want to keep his money in that game or bring it over here for < 1% ?? The interest rates in this country are truly criminal. The banks are absolutely awash money at current rates. Lent out at 5-25%.

Can't set up a monthly transfer.
Interesting. My troubleshooting would have probably pinpointed that. Good, well you have your answer. Have a great week

Can't set up a monthly transfer.
Right I would resolve the face scan thing first and foremost Question isn't whether you can make a one-off transfer to another account or another bank and account. The question is can you make a recurring scheduled transfer. Therefore, I would suggest that you set up a scheduled recurring payment of b50 to another bank instead of GSB. Try b50 over three days. Like that. If popup comes immediately after you send - it's probably on your end. The longer it takes the more possibility it's an issue outside. Finally, if the error message has a code it could be very helpful in troubleshooting.

Income tax on foreign-sourced earnings within this year
Yeah, we're slow out of the gate, don't really know what we are doing, constantly change our minds, politics corrupts the effort, but when the dust settles your on the hook for back taxes. I really wish I could afford to take my wife and leave.

Income tax on foreign-sourced earnings within this year
I recall reading something some time ago. It included farang as well if memory serves. Bring money in within two years - no tax. See above post* So, Thai free - farang pay. If true, what an insult. That's worth possibly leaving over. Thai Examiner has done some good reporting on this issue

Can't set up a monthly transfer.
When you go in - set up a payment with the CSR together. They probably won't have a clue, it's a longshot Another thought...do you do anything with sending money abroad ? Maybe there is a currency switch that is stuck in say USD. Therefore, you'd be sending USD to THB account. Q: Can you enter everything and then it craps out on SEND or when you start pulling menus it disallows recurring payments? Error messages would be helpful for bank staff. Face scan: another long shot. Check to see your face scan is registered. Yes, I know you've done it and you sent b4 and it WAS working.

Can't set up a monthly transfer.
What is preventing you from scheduling payments? Option grayed out? Pop-up? Did you try scheduling b50? I know 15k isn't much but ... Schedule tiny payments to a different accounts to eliminate variables: Send to different bank - this will tell you if GSB is the issue in general. Different GSB account if possible - this will tell you if her account may be flagged for some reason. If the options grayed out and unavailable? That's probably app related. * Check the account number, routing is correct. * Check name is correct if needed * Update the app * Check the time, day set correctly on device * Again, go thru the app settings and look slowly and carefully * Is your internet connection solid. Rock solid? * Try to search issue on internet. I know it's app specific but maybe some general knowledge out there Can you schedule on a computer? I don't know if all bank access is only via app - I don't use banking apps. Is your phone old? Perhaps the OS doesn't meet minimum requirements - long shot Eliminate the variables

Can't set up a monthly transfer.
This is a total longshot, but see the OS is up to date and especially you are running latest app iteration. Go back and check all your settings carefully. Something may now be disallowing the recurring payment. Have you tried sending to another account at GSB? Another account anywhere? I don't think any staff in any bank will be helpful tbh. Just hand her the 15k. Works for me every time.

Any real skin clinics in Thailand?
I would also recommend St Louis hospital as well. Possibly Rama 9 hospital. The institute above looks promising Stay clear of beauty Skincare clinics, but if you want one of these I'd recommend Patcha (Sutthisan) or Aura (DinDaeng). Aura may be a bit of high pressure sell. There are also a few big clinics in Pohan Yotin. Derms in clinics are basically just Botox injectors and thread lift mechanics. I think steroid cream is the ticket. Try washing the area with Head Shoulders shampoo

Do I need to file taxes for year/s prior before I start SS?
Thanks Social Security question, not tax question.

Do I need to file taxes for year/s prior before I start SS?
Quick question - I've not filed taxes in some time as I'm living off savings. My investments in US Treasuries return no close to poverty/filing requirement. My 401ks exempt. Anything within the SS requirements? I've a bunch of 00s next to the years. Huge gap. I will be signing up online both SS and Medicare A Thank you
