  1. You would do well to remember that Venezuela ain't Panama.
  2. Under Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro’s predecessor, Hugo Chavez, the Venezuelan government seized assets from some American oil companies after the country nationalized oil fields in 2007. President Donald Trump on Wednesday assailed his White House predecessors for not pushing back against Venezuela earlier and stated that his intention is “getting land, oil rights, whatever we had” returned by the government in Caracas. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/watch-we-want-it-back-trump-demands-venezuela-return-land-oil-rights-to-u-s I hope that all those cynics out there who claimed that the narco-terrorism claims were just a pretext feel really ashamed of themselves for getting it right.
  3. Fact-Checking Trump’s Prime-Time Address on the Economy The president cited misleading statistics to insist, wrongly, that prices were coming down. https://archive.ph/4Py5S#selection-503.0-507.91
  4. In other words, whatever bad things happen for whatever reason is their fault and whatever good things happen for whatever reason is because of Trump.
  5. It's reasonable that the President of the United States engages in practices that clearly violate principles of self-interest? That by engaging in such acts he could be putting self interest over the interests of the country? It is to laugh.
  6. What makes your claim about covid vax genuinely the opposite of reality, is that it's MAGA supporters who overwhelmingly claim that the vaccine was developed too quickly to be safe. And in fact, the redder the area of the country, the lower the vaccination rate. Which is why, once the vaccines were introduced, the mortality rate in redder areas became correspondingly higher.
  7. Even if that was true, it has nothing to do with Sunny in Bangrak's assertion: "remember when the lefty narrative was it would take many years if not decades to develop a vax" And who's the Health and Human Services Secretary now?
  8. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, recently said that a COVID-19 could take 12 to 18 months to develop, test and approve for public use. But new vaccines typically take years to earn approval — can we really expect a coronavirus vaccine to be ready by summer 2021? https://www.livescience.com/coronavirus-covid-19-vaccine-timeline.htm And by the way, only one of the 2 Covid mRNA vaccines was developed in the USA. The other was made by BioNTech, a German company which then authorized Pfizer to manufacture it and use it in trials in the USA and ultimately sell it in the USA. It was the first mRNA vaccine to be fully approved.
  9. You might want to acquaint yourself with the type of false reason called Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc. Namely, after this therefore because of this. What follows is an inflation graph of the EU: I suppose Biden is to blame for EU inflation, too? And for the high inflation that plagued most of the rest of the world in the wake of covid?
  10. Federal prosecutors attempted to get a grand jury in Alexandria, Virginia, to add a third felony charge to a failed indictment of New York Attorney General Letitia James last week, while omitting earlier claims that she fraudulently converted a second home into a rental property. The third proposed charge, which hasn’t been previously reported, was an additional count of making a false statement to a financial institution. The earlier indictment against James consisted of one such false statement count and one count of bank fraud. https://www.politico.com/news/2025/12/17/letitia-james-indictment-third-charge-00697148 After the rejection, they asked the judge to keep the details of the proposed indictment secret. I guess to protect them from even more embarrassment.
  11. It will be interesting to see if he can revive his previous career given that he now rejects conspiracy theories that he used to promote on his show.
  12. What question am I avoiding? Did I ever claim that Trump celebrated Reiner's death? You continue to misunderstand the basis of your double standard?
  13. In a way you're right. It demonstrates how how low standards have fallen that this unethical act, is just one of many and not the largest by far.
  14. So Biden is to blame for the catastrophic inflation the entire world suffered." And even if, contrary to fact, that was the case, was inflations "catastrophic?" I think you might want to reserve that word for hyperinflation which has been widely predicted by right wingers since the Obama administration and has yet to materialize.
  15. It's just so woke of you to support punishment for certain kinds of non-criminal speech that offends some, but not for other kinds.
  16. Well that's one way to raise the white flag.
  17. If Donald Trump was a private citizen, or even a lower level politician you might have a point.
  18. What don't you understand about the fact that you're the one who made it a relevant point that unlike some who celebrated the death of Charlie Kirk, Trump didn't say Reiner deserved it (although he did claim that "reportedly" he was killed because of that infamous syndrome). In other words according to you, some unpleasant speech deserves punishment and some doesn't.
  19. Because the point I raised about this was that some people got punished for making hateful speech about Charlie Kirk. And that's what you replied to? In the future, should I assume that when you respond to something I post you may have lost the plot? Let me remind you: Kirk was a political assassination, Reiner was killed by his own deranged son. Big difference.
  20. If anybody's clutching at their p************* it's you. It's you who wants to distinguish between certain kinds of nasty speech and the ensuing consequences.
  21. What does Reiner's alleged inattention to his kid have to do with whether or not punishment for speech is okay? Not only are you woke but you also are confused.
  22. Before the Soviet Union did Russia have a tradition of democracy? Dostoyevsky was actually subjected to a mock execution for alleged anti-government activity? For others, "mock" was absent.
  23. So punishment for certain kinds of speech that aren't criminal is ok? Woke much?
  24. I should clarify this. I was only referring to first amendment rights. Not the right of private venues to censor speech.
  25. I think it's quite transparent that you want to steer attention away from something that has hurt the president politically towards a more anodyne topic.
