  1. And the thing is, workers in the US on these visas don't have a right to look for employment elsewhere. Which means they're tied to relatively sh***y wages. Which depresses wages for that sector of the economy and makes the situation that much worse of Americans looking for a living wage.
  2. Seems unlikely US government slams mRNA vaccine research US Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr is cancelling $500 million in mRNA vaccine research, citing false claims about such vaccines’ safety and effectiveness. The funding will be cut from 22 grants awarded by the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) to develop mRNA vaccines for SARS-CoV-2 and influenza A and B. https://www.nature.com/articles/s41587-025-02826-2
  3. I suspect they'll be using exorcists over there.
  4. I know just the right team to face this threat: https://www.ebay.com/itm/335509791047?norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-167022-189232-7&mkcid=2&itemid=335509791047&targetid=&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9199093&poi=&campaignid=21272459403&mkgroupid=&rlsatarget=&abcId=&merchantid=119648210&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=21278987735&gbraid=0AAAAAD_QDh9bRf2A-IdITOVQ8XL3oB0P9&gclid=CjwKCAiAoNbIBhB5EiwAZFbYGDsfOyZgjMWm5mBeoLfcGjdhhHUkIMrsvDA7V9xc0UUvmPX3M07QrxoC6a4QAvD_BwE
  5. Probably not a good idea to cling to every any word he says.
  6. I propose the Miranda Devine be awared the Alex Jones award, for denial of reality above and beyond the call of duty In February 2020, Devine alleged in a series of tweets that a video showing Quaden Bayles, an Indigenous boy with achondroplasia dwarfism, crying after being bullied at school, was a scam and that Bayles was actually an adult actor.[40] That led to Quaden's mother, Yarraka, suing Devine for defamation on behalf of her son, and also suing on her own behalf over Devine's suggestion she had coached Quaden.[41] In September 2020, ahead of a settlement of the suit, Devine, who was on secondment at the New York Post, tweeted an apology for her allegations that the video had been faked https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miranda_Devine#cite_note-21 https://7news.com.au/news/qld/family-of-bullied-queensland-boy-quaden-bayles-progresses-case-against-columnist-miranda-devine-c-1261815 https://www.smh.com.au/national/miranda-devine-apologises-for-tweets-ahead-of-defamation-settlement-20200919-p55x88.html
  7. A Massachusetts Institute of Technology team has found a way to make a type of concrete that can store and release electricity. This means that the concrete walls and sidewalks around us could double as giant batteries, powering lights and devices. About 5 cubic meters of the electron-conducting concrete—the volume of a typical basement wall—can hold enough energy to meet the daily needs of an average American household. https://www.anthropocenemagazine.org/2025/11/this-concrete-could-turn-your-house-into-a-battery/ According to the abstract it seems to be a combination of battery and super-capacitator. https://www.pnas.org/doi/abs/10.1073/pnas.2511912122 (The spellcheck function has suggested that there may be a sinister agenda behind this development. In place of super-capacitator, it suggested super-decapitator instead.)

  9. U.S. faith levels plummet to lowest on record Fewer than half of Americans now say religion is an important part of their daily lives, a 17 percentage point drop since 2015, which ranks among the largest declines in the world, according to a new Gallup poll. Why it matters: The U.S. was once exceptional for its high religiosity among wealthy nations. The shift reflects profound cultural changes that could reshape politics, social ties and even national identity. By the numbers: In the latest Gallup Poll released Thursday, only 49% of U.S. adults say religion is essential to their daily life, down from 66% in 2015. https://www.axios.com/2025/11/13/gallup-us-religion-plunge-shift-global-declines
  10. I don't claim to be. But, unlike you, when it comes this sort of subject, I know who my betters are. And you most decidedly aren't one of them.
  11. I stand corrected about watts vs kilowatts. Unlike you, I can acknowledge an error.
  12. If I buy a car does that make me any kind of authority on automotive engineering? Or the economics involved in manufacturing automobiles? P
  13. And you also didn't understand that the kwh measurement referred to was for the cost per kilowatt of the panel, not for the electricity. And yet you accuse me of ignorance. Projecting much?
  14. This is coming from someone who didn't understand the difference between a solar panel and a solar panel plug-in system.
  15. So, can you share with me what you think of the the latest advances in tandem perovskite solar cells? I eagerly await my education.
  16. I firmly believe that one day, instead of making things up, you will start looking things up.
  17. Only to mock this ridiculous and typically bigoted appraisal of yours: "Her genetic background looks weak, really a non-science person who moved over to genetics at a later date. Only in the UK. Yet another female "Token" by the BBC. This characterization would not be synonymous at best with "second rater". Once again. The authorities entrusted her with this: "In 2012, she led the genetic analysis and verification during the exhumation and reburial of Richard III of England.[25] She was able to use the mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) from direct living descendants of Richard III's sister, Anne of York, one of whom (Michael Ibsen) was traced by British historian John Ashdown-Hill, with a second relative (Wendy Duldig) traced by the University of Leicester team.[26][27][25][28]" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turi_King Not exactly the kind of thing an unqualified person would be put in charge of.
  18. Always so sad to see someone making themselves the referee and declaring themselves the winner. The mark of an inveterate loser.
  19. You misunderstand. It's the cost of the panel per kwh of generating power. Not the cost per kwh of electricity.
  20. For one thing, you're sayiing something different now. First you claimed you would have to cover the whole country in solar panels and now you're asking if I think a whole country could run on solar power. Make up your mind.
  21. As the article noted, it was about saving people money.
  22. Please. So do lasers. Does that mean that the scientists who created them were greater scientists than Einstein You clearly don't understand the difference between basic and applied science.
  23. What has that got to do with the competence of Turi King? She's not doing ground breaking research on DNA. She's employing well known techniques to identify certain genes on DNA samples. You'd have to be moronic to think that the authorities would trust her to this hugely publicized discovery if there was any question about her competence.
  24. False "Whilst Einstein left, Germany still had Heisenberg, who was arguably a greater physicist than Einstein ever was..." https://aseannow.com/topic/1377922-jim-crowe-nazi-maga/page/2/#comment-20202111
