  1. Window film helps keep the heat out and works better than curtains because the heat never gets inside. The downside is at night when the lights are on, people outside can still see in, so it’s not very private. If you want to keep the room cool, go with film. If you want more privacy, go with curtains. Best option is to have both. I got mine done at Topfilm Thailand. They’re friendly and know what they’re doing. You can give them a call to ask for advice.😁
  2. Most window films these days already block about 99% of UV rays, so that’s not something to worry about. What really matters in Thailand is heat rejection, since the sun here is brutal. Go for a ceramic-grade film that blocks over 90% of heat and comes with at least a 7-year warranty. I got mine done at Topfilm Thailand. They explained everything clearly and helped me pick a shade that isn’t too dark but still keeps the car noticeably cooler. Super professional team, definitely worth checking out.
  3. Here in Thailand, when shops say “60% tint,” they often mean the film can have a VLT (visible light transmission) anywhere around 15–25%. From my experience, 15% on the windscreen is too dark, but 25% VLT is a good balance, and night driving in the city is still comfortable. So just talking about “60%” isn’t enough, you need to check the actual VLT spec on the film you’re buying. On my car I chose SolarFX with 25% VLT on the front and it’s been great for visibility at night while keeping the cabin cooler.
  4. I personally prefer 3M Ceramic ultra clear over 3M crystalline since the price is much more cheaper but the infrared rejection is still above 90%. The price is around 10k for BMW X3. If you want to tint 3m crystalline, I really think that you should tint Solargard instead. I tint at Topfilm thailand shop you can ask them for the price.
