  1. I don't normally side with the Pattaya ArmChair Regiment (motto-Hang em and Flog em) but this time I feel that the 3 slow injections at execution are too good for this trash. Slow hanging without Pierrepoint's necksnap knot while crows peck at his liver...sounds much better.

Yes of course, he won't last 3 hours in jail as a kid-killer. In the showers, the guards will just look away and pretend to do something else. Good. God take you, little boy. Darling baby RIP.

    I am totally gutted. Utterly.

  2. Thanks to everyone for the nods re using the internet for the 90 day!!

I had a short email (4 lines) today, telling me that I am "approved".

However, the original paper (A4 with a barcode) from the site STILL has "pending", even when I reload it. So I have one paper with APPROVED (a tiny email with no bar code), plus my original data sheet which still says pending.

If I keep both in my passport, is that enough to avoid the 500b trip to CW immig? I agree with those who say that I still have 7 days to go to CW, BUT the whole idea of doing the App is to avoid the heat and queues.

Am I ok now that I have a brief email of approval? I don't want to be arrested next year on a massive overstay.

    Thks

  3. I am within the window (12 days to go) but I admit that I did send it at 23.00 last night. There are no changes to address or passport or anything. It is still pending.

Should I do the forms again (bearing in mind that I now have a reference number)? or just wait a few days? (will take me out of the window!)

Do they need to check each one manually?

  4. I did it from the Mac by using Safari. Chrome did not work.

I now have a full A4 from them with a barcode and number. The only "remark" is blank, telling me to keep the Ref number in case of follow-up.

However, on the top right side, it says PENDING in yellow. Does this mean that they will contact me with "accept"? Or will it appear tomorrow as the same form but with Accepted (or not accepted?)

  5. Cruising in KL is still quite good, altho' Grindr etc. has reduced it.

The Bukit Bintang McD is often cruisy, but the Dome (opposite) has long gone. The Starbucks walking area is still good. Pavilion itself is fairly good, with lots of young eye candy and sometimes real action.

The chinese and the malays dont have the Thai "attitude" ("I'm Thai=I'm so special") which is refreshing after so many years in BKK.

  6. My UK PP expires in Dec 2021 but is already full APART from 1.5 pages.

My visa extension is due again on 30 July, which is about 12 weeks away.

    Questions please:

I need to go to Malaysia in 2-3 weeks. The stamps for this small trip are 4, and I dont need the single re-entry permit (I have yearly). However, I have had some dirty looks at immigration. Should I send it away now?

I don't want my new extension put in an expired PP.

How long does it take? to UK?

Is the new PP 10 years, or only runs 2 years because I am full early?

If on-line...I have photos but I dont think I can get a quality image using my phone. Anyone done that?

    Cheers

  7. I have been retired for about six years with a legit. retirement extension (based on finance).    This morning, I was offered a job which is probably too good to refuse (my background is specialised and pays well). I know that I must give up my Ret Ext and revert to a Non-B. Some people have told me that I can do this at CW next week, but others have advised that I must fly to Laos or KL and go to the Embassy with my job offer. Each opinion-giver was quite adamant. I know KL well,  and I could go there anytime. But I cannot be sure that I need to fly away to KL (Hanoi is also a place I know). I have looked at the Immigration Pages but, as a rarity, this event is not listed.

Has anybody on here actually returned to work and needed to apply at an external Thai embassy to stop being retired? Or can I do a half- hour trip to CW with 1,900b? It's been a long time since I did any of this, incl. WP, so I'm not sure about the whole process.

  8. very easy if Brit. Go to the Embassy webpage and print out your income declaration. Takes about 5-10 days to send it (you pay the EMS express 240b) BUT, unlike the USA where you can raise, your hand and swear, we Brits must send in our pensions advice, bank interests and anything else which takes you over 65,000b a month income. In about 5 days you will receive an embossed letter stating your sworn income proved by your papers and accounts and pensions advice.

If you dont have that income you must put 800,000b in a Thai bank SOME TIME BEFORE your visa and the get letters from the bank the day before that you have 800k.

Yes, you cannot be under 50.

  9. Indeed. This original one re. lese-majeste justified a comment, merely because of the current political climate. Many farang have made innocent comments or bar-room jokes, without being aware of the "perceptions maintained by the current administration". To know that several people have received emails "denouncing" them with "evidence"...I feel deserves a mention.

Were it the case that I had yet another email telling me that I am mentioned in the will of the Queen of Tonga (God luv 'er) and to please send my bank details, I would be laughing to the same extent that you are being cynical. And, I would most certainly not waste my bandwidth in sniping at those who feel some sort of responsibility to inform, even if, like myself, they do not wish to use broken Thai while explaining dodgy emails for four hours in Sutthisan Police Station.

But, as Mr V said, you are entitled to your opinion and blah, blah....I have no axe to grind with your goodself. You may think what you like. But we can see from the above entries that several people are receiving dodgy emails of various provenance. Maybe I am being too civic-minded and I need to get out more....

    Rest my Case.
