Does this dumb attempted Thai bash have anything at all to do with seasonal wind variation and adjusting the approach / takeoff direction at both of Bangkok’s Airports ?

Clearly you did not understand my comment. In other countries they operate at a much higher extreme levels with weather than Thailand. Before they make changes to a situation. The comparison is not Thai bashing.

  2. It is not the Thai Customs you need to worry about. It is the corrupt courier companies who say the Customs are making the charges.

My own experience of DHL is they charged me 3700 Baht on behalf of Thai Customs. In the post I received a receipt for 200 Baht from Thai Customs. Where did the other 3500 Baht go??? DHL. Which meant DHL were paid twice for the consignment via corrupt Thai Employees, performing on their behalf.

Well when he left Thailand how many billions of dollars went with him corruption at its best TIT

He has never been prosecuted for financial corruption and found guilty. He made his on money. He once owned Manchester City Football Club with his own money. His greatest achievment was the building of Suvanabhumi Airport that has benefited the tourism of the whole of Thailand. Let us not forget the antics of Suthep Thaugsuban who dodge all legal formalities and the harm he did to Thailand.

  4. Does it mean they have discontinued the compulsory Covid cover? Then I don't mind the 300 Baht accident cover. I once spent 24 hours in a Thai hospital at a cost of 1750 Baht for a minor accident. I did not have the money on me they did not force me to pay. Later on in the day I was signed off I went back and payed it. 300 Baht is better than the high price Western Insurance cover. Most of which never ends up in Thailand anyway. Most of the Insurance companies took advantage of Covid to charge high fees for all types of medical cover.

No problem, Thailand has plenty of police to go around.

There are currently about 230,000 police officers in Thailand. Thailand has about 340 police officers per 100,000 people. This ratio of police officers is much higher than that of neighboring countries such as Myanmar and the Philippines. It is about 1.5 times that of Japan and roughly equivalent to that of the United States.

Yes, but half of them are deployed at immigration to deal with foreigners.

Biggest problem from US is availability of flights. When my wife flew out on 6/14 the cheapest tickect was through Doha of all places and $US1,500 (R/T) which would have been 30 hours. Went with Philippines Air at $US2,300 (R/T). I fly out out August on Philippines at $US1,500 (R/T) When we flew in February it was $US800 (R/T) on ANA/United. Just like everything else, the prices have doubled.

The price at present are based on the large initial to fly now. I am getting quotes for the end of November at  £624 or $755 Via Skyscanner from London return. Just wait and avoid the stampede. If the Ukraine war ends watch the price drop.

Not sure if it will catch on with the Golden Triangle.

This is the area where the borders of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar meet at the confluence of the Ruak and Mekong rivers.

Could be they are thinking of exporting back the other way. There is always a method in Thai Madness. Still it will increase Thailand's Cancer rates no end from smoking. The 2 big "Cs" Cancer and Covid; are they sure they know what they are doing.
