Convenient store cashier attacked for not selling beer

BANGKOK: -- A convenient store cashier was attacked and severely injured by a drunk man after refusing to sell him beer after the alcohol sale hours.

Watchara Adam, 18, the cashier of Family Mart in Bangkok's Min Buri district received a deep cut each on his right hand and left arm.

Police said the attack happened at 3 am Saturday.

He was rushed to the Navamin Hospital for wound treatment.

Watchara later told police that two men came into the shop to buy a pack of beer but he could not sell it as it was after the alcohol selling time.

He said the two men became dissatisfied and one of them bought cigarette.

Watchara said the

man, who bought cigarette left and the other man attacked him with a knife before the two fled on a motorcycle.

The Nation sells itself as a broadsheet - but always seems to have these tabloid articles.

With all due repect it is a bit of a non-event.

It wasnt that much of a non-event for the attacked. And even though it only was 2 people involved it still brings to light some wider issues, about alcohol laws, social violence, alcoholism etc. The very fact we are people are responding to the post shows it as having some ramifications.

My point would be that this sort of article would make a local newspaper - but certainly not national coverage.

I should have written "nearing 50" to help the more pedantic members here.

3 years is 16 percent of the life of a 19 year old...or more importantly, at least 50% of her post pubescent life.

3 years is 6 percent of the life of a 47 year old...or 9 % of her post pubescnet life.

Work it out Einstein, the same variance in a 19 year old is only half a year.

If this doesn't make sense to you (it should as you are a professional), try the same calculation for a 3 year old girl.

She is 37 and i am 33 we are both profesionals. She is independent and very succesful in her chosen career, she retains her own property both in Japan and Thailand. We are from very simmilar family backgrounds and were both educated overseas. We share the same interests and aspirations in life, i understand her needs, desires and goals for the future. We can talk about any subject together and dont always have to agree.

I know exactly why i am with her and i know why she is with me. We have a large circle of friends here in Thailand, Japan and the UK,they are all well balanced, succesful and respected members of society.

The decline in health amongst poorer Asian women (most in relationships come from poor families) has a lot to do with their nutrient intake.

If you hit a poor village and have a look around at the women aged 30 plus you might be surprised to see many with missing teeth, bad skin, poor muscle tone and posture and a whole host of other physical ailments. Their life expectancy is much lower than that of the more well fed Western women.

Apart from that, they lack knowledge on how to stay healthy. In the West single women are often working out, eating health food and really taking care of themselves.

Your first point, 'most in relationships come from poor families'. from this comment i can only assume that you are refering to Asian women in security relationships with foreign men.

My girl was supporting her whole family at age 14....no shit! A family of 8...a very poor family. She built them a house (nothing flash) before she turned 15.

This is the reason that she is willing to sacrafice her childhood to live with you. She is from a very poor background and you are seen as a way out of it.

If she was from a comfortable background and the family had no money issues then my guess is that you would not have got a second look.

This is a long thread, but you should really catch up on background information before you start spouting your bs. I already explained earlier that she had a rich BF before me, and at the time I met her she was "dating" a guy that was supporting her. Both of these guys were better prospects financially...apart from the fact that this girl was not desperate for guys. She's a knockout girl and has always had to beat the guys (young and old, rich and poor) off with a stick.

I do not think there is a problem when there is a big age gap.

It all depends how well you "connect" with eachother, family and friends.

When I was 19 I fell in love with a lovely girl and the age diference was only 6 years (which I found out later). Yep she was 13 but looked and thinked very mature (western girl).

We discussed this issue with her and my family and my family told as long as you and she feel happy, it is OK.

Her family had a bit more problems with it but then her grandma intervened by telling she could see that my GF was feeling verry happy and they should not worrie too much.

OK blessings from family and friends and the relation lasted about 4 years.

4 years of happiness untill we both found it was time to move on. She was getting lots of attention of other guys and I was not getting the mental satisfaction as i was thinking on a whole different level aboutf life.

So we decided to split up, we are still good friends everytime we meet.

So I think that whenever you have a relation (with big age diff) you should be prepared that one day can be the last of your relation because of age or mental level difference.

So if you are near 50 and she is around 20 there is a big risk that someday you will split up and that risk is bigger when the age gap is bigger.
