As with any divorce. Get a lawyer. Don't listen to bar room (or in this case internet) horror stories. if their marriage is legal & they have a child & 20 years under their belt then she is legally entitled to certain things. But only a lawyer will tell her exactly what she is legally entitled to. Best of luck to her.

I agree, consult legal proffesionals, if the answer to the question is not to your liking from the first law firm, consult another to check you are getting advised correctly.

Regardless whether or not the original situation could have been or should have been handled in a different manner is now a moot point.

If i were you i would ignore the advice on how to get back at this guy buy doing things to his truck etc. You will get in to something that you cant get out of and may find things esculate to a level that you realy don't want.

Forget about it and move on with your life, if you start trouble the guy will in my opinion probably be willing to take it much further than you and it could become a dangerous sittuation for you and your wife.

You owe it to your wife not to put her in such a sittuation. Relax, be happy and enjoy your time. Let others destroy themselves with anger, hatred and other negative feelings. Ultimatly they only damage the beholder.

Thats right mate, just make sure your fishing in the right place. If you go fishing in the sewer (like a lot of these guys) you will only catch turds (like a lot of these guys).

This is my 5th Christmas in Thailand and i have to say it's always a non-event.

Heres an idea.

Invite the Aunt and her children to the wedding, make sure they are made to feel that you realy want them to come. Give the maid a nice little sum of cash and tell her when the wedding will be and that this is her chance to escape as she will be left alone, warn her that should she decide to go that she must NEVER return for any reason.

If you know people in Thailand you could also even try to find her another employer as far away from the Aunts place as possible.

Also talk to your mother-in-law about the situation as they treat her sister well and must also be unhappy about the abuse.

When the news of the maids disapearing act comes to light you could also quietly let the Aunt know that you had helped her and why. Make it understood that you find this treatment of other people unaceptable and should she hire another girl and start the same thing again there will be a problem

Face saved, Wife happy, Maid free and Aunt knows the score.

Just to put you right on one subject, the steam railway engine (I'm sure that is what you are referring to) was in fact fist built by Richard Trevithick (a Cornishman) at Coalbrookdale in Shropshire in 1803. Now I know that nearly all Cornish people think they do not live in England !!! but just for the sake of argument and geography lets say you do !!!

The steam engine was invented over 40 years before by a scotsman from Glasgow named James Watt who also married his cousin.

I wrote a paper on it when i was at university.
