  1. GH you really have got a hard on for yourself, please keep holding your baited breath and do us all a favor.

The figures are at the bottom of the report.

    You're a prick. :o

A well laid out and writen counter to what you had writen and that is your reply? Further more you were complaining about other people resorting to personal attacks only a few posts ago.

Your reply says far more about you than it does about GuestHouse, now thats a fact you cant argue.

At least he understood it. :D

Thats it, good lad, stick to the school boy insults, thats what your good at. :D

  2. Its very simple guesthouse.Just like the 'white flight' surveys of inner cities it would give a good indication as to whom is actually leaving.

The survey in question shows typical BBC bias.No question. This is the <deleted> Beeb were talking about here(are they your only source of infomation or what?).Somehow they have managed to show the exodus of millions of citzens in a good light! They are basically saying, don't worry, thousands might be leaving but the good old 'third worlders' are coming to take their place.. yippee!

Robski made several excellent points about this and you have chosen to ignore all of them.

The BBC are liberal,Labour run loosers that are out of touch with the majority of the population(they have even admitted the latter...).How they have presented this survey is typical beeb BS that anyone with half a brain can see.

There,i have answered your question.Hope you are happy. :o

What 'third worlders' are you refering to? Is it the Thai wives and husbands of people on this forum or is is it doctors and heart surgeons from India? maybe it's the Chinese Neuro surgeons, maybe it's the philippine nurses or the scientists from the Eastern block. What about the Americans that move there or for that matter the Australians or western Europeans?

Maybe you just rely on your tory newspapers for your information who would have you believe it's only unskilled imigrants who move to the UK and decide to ignore the rest.

Oh no, don't tell me it's all the foreign football players.

  4. Market price: US$11.00

    Our price: US$9.00 (Baht 333.00), save 18%

What I don't understand is the above. They can't be bought elsewhere so why a market price and why the special Thaivisa price where it says we save 18%?

Why represent the goods as being more expensive elsewhere and then saying that TV offers a discount?

Either put the right price up or not, don't imply we are saving money by buying it from Thaivisa, it's a misleading underhand sales tactic and I'm surprised Thaivisa allows it to be used on it's members.

    Good points bkkmadness.

  5. Not just the normal (ridiculous IMHO) restricted selling hours but cautioning people not to try to buy more than two trays of beer or four bottles of bacardi breezer, two of spirits etc. Any idea of the reason? I am at a loss to explain it

Maybe a sensible place to have asked would have been in the store while you were there. I'm sure you would have got a more informed reply than waiting until you got home and then asking on an internet forum. :o

Why did you not ask in the store? :D

    :D:D:D

You would have a better chance nailing blancmange to the ceiling :bah:

Have you ever tried asking a question in a shopping store. You would be hard pressed to get someone to give you an accurate answer to anything!!!

In that case i'm sure they would be hard pushed to enforce the restriction, if this is the case then the OP's question is moot.

  6. Well the reason i decided to move to Thailand had nothing to do with any problem with the United Kingdom, i came to Thailand because i like the country and wanted a whole new change of lifestyle, culture and eventualy direction.

I think the UK is a great place to live, i also think Thailand for me personaly is a great place to live, it just so happens that right now i am enjoying living in Thailand. I would have no complaints about going back to live and work in the UK. I would miss the food though.

  7. Probaly to do with how the farm wages compare with other jobs.

Same thing here in Australia, we get many phillipino's and bring them here doing the the jobs aussie dont want to do. The farms are full of filos and euros picking fruit etc.

Social security pays nearly as good

Hmnnn.. Doing the jobs Aussies wont do,,

Wouldn't that be half of the Aussie work force then Lord Donz ???? :o

Is Lord short for Gaylord? :D

  8. BTW bino, it's amusing and it made me laugh, however i would contact them and ask for a replacement card without spelling mistakes as it could easily be refused. People could well think that it is indeed a fake. I would not feel the need to be nasty about it or make a big issue of it.

  10. I would say marry who you can relate too and who can relate to you. That is if your looking for meaningful mentally stimulating companionship. Note however that is a big "IF" I have seen a ton of marriages between worn out bar girls from Issan and loosers from farangland that are more along the lines of contracts or marriages of convenience if you will. Security and escape from poverty and prostitution for the girl and feminine companionship of a quality that would not be accessible to him back home for the man. And that works too, for what it was intended. Problems arise when when folks attempt to kid themselves into believing their relationship is something thats it's not.

But really and truly, your best bet is to know yourself and go after someone on or slightly above your caliber.

Keep age and relative financial backgrounds within due bounds. Educational backgrounds should be similar too. Ask what her dreams are, tell her yours, pay attention to what she doesn't say as much as what she dose when you explain them to her. Dose she understand you? Dose she agree and appreciate them? If so your on the right track, if not keep it rollin.

Yes easier said then done, but she should be your life mate so, why not take some time and put some effort into it?

Right on the money, Cptn :o

  11. calling the cops would have worked, in as far as it would prevent any grief in future.

As a farang, you are higher up the food chain than a pick up driver. The fact that he gets worked up about the car simply reflects that this is all he has got (as an observation...our guard downstairs is forever cleaning his tiny motor bike).

Having said that though, the copper probably would have insisted that you fork over 250 to the bloke, call it 'sundry and miscellaneous costs' as a token of compensation for you dirtying his car. I mean, no matter how much you cleaned it, he would have re-cleaned it again anyway...so you'd be compensating him for that extra work. But, with the coppers involved, if the bloke got angry again without cause, you'd be in the clear.

Remember this peoples, as a farang, in the scheme of things, you are above most and perceived 'equal' to a middle class Thai. Most people here only experience the negative side of things (ie...walking ATM machine, easy scam target etc etc). Big deal, many richer Thai's have leaches of poorer relatives who try it on all the time.

However, you also get the chance to be snobbish and uppity (if you so choose) when dealing with idiots and scumbags. Do it calmly though. Flout your status. You call the cop. You control the situation. Watch the little bloke shit his pants. It works, and it is fun.

How did you say you have lived here for? You should know better :o

  12. The other day I was arriving back into BKK and checked the downstairs normal taxi's. The lineup was way long so I went back upstairs and asked one of the touts, ok, how much for a taxi/limo to Sathorn Rd.

I have never been to the new airport, i did not know it was still like this. :o
