You can top up the card at 7/11 or at a bank. I got my at the auto show, but long time to wait until the next show
How do you Top up at a 7/11, do you just take the card supplied, and hand over the amount you want topping up?
Thanks

You have to pay with a bankers draft, cash and cards are not accepted.

You do not need a certificate of residence if you have a work permit. That's the place.
http://www.pattayacityexpatsclub.com/expats/docs/thai license Checklist.pdf has all the details.
You don't need to pay the 300B mentioned on that page for the residence certificate unless you want it immediately. If you can wait it's 200B which is still 200B more than it should be.
Doctor's certificate is 100B in most clinics.
Thanks BPB, Some says that if i have a work permit ,which i have, i don't need the residence certificate. Is that correct?
Yes, a Residence Permit is Required of All Foreigners regardless of your Visa Type.
Last time I went, I took my WP, with no Residence Permit, which was accepted, no questions asked.

many thanks for the infoFor my clarification, do I need to open many accounts to keep under the 20k interest paid yearly to avoid paying tax?
I opened a fixed rate account yesterday with Krungsri, I wanted to put in a resonable amount, but was told it would be better for me to open several accounts to avoid tax payments, this just seems a long winded way of doing it, but if it avoids tax then I will do, any advice please, and is this still one of the best deals around?

The advice you were given works although strictly speaking the banks are meant to aggregate accounts for interest purposes but most do not do this.

The pollution & heat that they kick out is horrendous.
If you're near a few when they are parked up then you get the full benifit as the drivers often leave the engines running to keep the AC running properly.
I don't think that they should be allowed down the small sois nor allowed to drop-off & pick-up as they please on Beach Rd.
Traffic would flow better if they stopped at allocated coach stops on 2nd Road & their passengers can walk the short distance.
Totally agree, they should keep out of the small Soi's.

Couple of years back they came to my home only 2 or 3 days after the 7-11 date passed ready to cut me off, managed to stop them by promising to go to the office immediately and pay the bill, which i did.
Same for me last month, missed the payment date for 7/11 after 3 days they were at the house ready to remove the meter.

I've amended it a bit; to cut out some repitition and also to insert paragraphs to make it easier to read. I've also added some comments in italics.
I notice that sometimes you refer to Pikky as 'he' and sometimes as 'she.' Which is it? Amend the letter as appropriate.
Brief Background
I am a British national of 54 years of age and work for Domino’s Pizza UK, Ireland & Germany based here in Thailand as an International Sourcing Executive.
Thanaphon Kanphan (Pikky) is a Thai national of 30 years of age and currently owns/runs Cupidol Bar in Pattaya, which makes a reasonable profit each month.
I first met Pikky back in 2009 when he was working as a waiter in one of my friend’s bars, we got to know each other quite well and started forming a relationship in March 2009 and now see each other every day and spend all our evenings together.
I currently live at (address), sharing with a friend, where Pikky stays every night. Pikky currently still maintains his own apartment until we find somewhere to live together later this year. Say why you do not live there now, does he share too?.
Over the past 3 years we have travelled together to Hong Kong two times, South Africa (Cape Town) and Shanghai China.
In July of 2011 Pikky bought the leasehold to Cupidol bar with my financial help, this has been a good success which you can see from the accounts submitted.
Reason for visit at this time
As mentioned before I currently work for Domino’s Pizza and have to return to the UK twice a year for updates with my boss and other colleagues, on my trip back in August I would like to take Pikky with me and make a holiday of it as well, meeting up with family and friends, it is also my Nephew’s wedding on the 4th August (invitation attached) which would be a great opportunity for Pikky to meet all my relations. We would both return to Thailand at the same time so we can both get back to work.
Finance and accommodation for visit
My salary is £xxxx and I have a living allowance of £xxx per year, plus I have a rental income from my home back in the UK of £XXX per year. I will be financing the visit from this.
I own a 4 bedroom house in Northampton which is rented to a friend Mr Niels xxxx, where Pikky and I will stay during the holiday (Letter attached).
I will also ensure Pikky has accurate health insurance for the duration of holiday.
Reason why Pikky will return to Thailand at the end of her holiday
Pikky will hand the responsibility of the bar to Mr Dang the current manager of the bar and a friend for many years, he is more than competent in doing so. However, he is the owner of the bar and this would only be a temporary arrangement Provide proof of ownership. Pikky has a very good profitable business with 30 plus staff he is responsible for and cares very much for their well being.
Pikky also owns a car (papers attached) which he is now into one year of payments made, he definitely would not want to lose that.
Pikky is an intelligent individual and understands very well it would be folly to jeopardize our relationship or any future trips we may want to make to the UK in the future.
You don't submit the application, Pikky does; so:- Included in the application are the following documents, which I hope will be of assistance in considering Pikkys application.
Many thanks for the info.
I will change and update accordingly.

Dear Sir’s,
Re: Application for a visitor’s visa by Mr Thanaphon Kanphan, known as Pikky.
I write in support of Mr Kanphans application to visit the United Kingdom for a holiday.
Brief Background
I am a British national of 54 years of age and work for Domino’s Pizza UK, Ireland & Germany (Domino's Pizza) based here in Thailand as an International Sourcing Executive. Thanaphon Kanphan (Pikky) is a Thai national of 30 years of age and currently owns/runs Cupidol Bar in Pattaya, which makes a reasonable profit each month. I first met Pikky back in 2009 when he was working as a waiter in one of my friend’s bars, we got to know each other quite well going to discos and karaoke etc, we started forming a relationship in March 2009 where we saw each other every day and spend all our evenings together as we currently still do. I currently live in my ex-boyfriends house in a separate room where Pikky stays every night, Pikky currently still maintains his own apartment until we find somewhere to live together later this year. Over the past 3 years we have traveled together to Hong Kong two times, South Africa (Cape Town) and Shanghai China. In July of 2011 Pikky bought the leasehold to Cupidol bar with my financial help, this has been a good success which you can see from the accounts submitted.
Myself and Pikkys circumstances
I am a salaried employee of Domino’s Pizza and work 3 days a week. My salary is £xxxx and I have a living allowance of £xxx per year, plus I have a rental income from my home back in the UK of £XXX per year. I own a 4 bedroom house in Northampton which is rented to a friend Mr Niels xxxx, where Pikky and I will stay during the holiday (Letter attached). I will be financing Pikkys holiday from my income, I also have many shares within Domino’s pizza which could be sold if needed, if a situation should arise. Pikky will hand the responsibility of the bar to Mr Dang the current manager of the bar and a friend for many years, he is more than competent in doing so. Pikky will not work in the UK and does not need to as he has a god income from Cupidol bar back in Pattaya. I will also ensure Pikky has accurate health insurance for the duration of holiday.
Reason why Pikky will return to Thailand at the end of her holiday
Pikky is an intelligent individual and understands very well it would be folly to jeopardize our relationship or any future trips we may want to make to the UK in the future. Pikky also has a very good profitable business with 30 plus staff he is responsible for and cares very much for their well being. Pikky also owns a car (papers attached) which he is now into one year of payments made, he definitely would not want to lose that.
I submit this application with the following documents, which I hope will be of assistance in considering Pikkys application.
