  1. 2 Canadian friends will be visiting Thailand and I am making the travel arrangements for the 4 of us. The group will consist of 3 male Canadians and my Thai wife. My wife and I have been to Phuket a few times by plane and we've recently been told that travelling by sleeper trains can be a good experience.

The pros of taking the train from Bangkok to Phuket (stopping in Surat Thani and transferring by bus) vs. the plane as I can see them are

    - save 1 night of a hotel booking

-meet people while on the train

-enjoy the scenery as it goes by

    -a new experience

The part that worries me is the bus ride from Surat Thani to Phuket. The website I found says that the bus can be anywhere from 4-6 hours.Just wondering if the bus ride is comfortable/enjoyable after a long train ride or if we should just take the plane?

    Thanks for all input :)

  2. First off, I can't see any of the Thai Visa classifieds in their entirety. They dont load properly. Second, I can't get into the Forum Help Desk, I get a "404 Bad Request Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand." Screenshots below. PS. I am using Chrome with Ubuntu Linux OS. I've included a Firefox Screenie and a Chrome Screenieblink.gifjap.gif

  4. Just a quick question here! This is the oil I have been using for the first 1,000 km. Is it the right one? And what does the oil for after 1,000 km look like? Oh, and I need to get a proper 1,000 km check done. Any recommendations for where to have it done in either Korat/Mahasrakam/Kon Khaen or even better Roi Et?jap.gif

When it came to my 6k service I happened to be in Kon Khaen for an overnight visit from Bangkok.... a bit of a flog there and back but...

I used the Honda main dealer in the centre of town which is on a major junction with Mitthapap... can't miss it!

They were helpful and good at what they did.

Thanks for this info. I guess I'll need to ride in the night before so that the engine can cool for the morning. Cheers!

Actually, the 4T JASO MA 10W-30 (blue cap) is supposed to be used in the Wave. For the CBR, you need to use 4T JASO MA 40 (red cap). Most of our CBR customers use it, although some like to use Motul H-Tech (10W40 4T).

OK thanks for the info. That bottle there was not actually the bottle that went into my machine so now I have to go back and check again. I didn't realise the difference in the color of the caps so just snapped a picture of the nearest one. That one there is mineral isn't it?? And we're supposed to change to Synthetic after 1,000km?
