Using a serge protector?
-
Thanks for all the replies. I decided to book a plane ticket with airasia. The train ride sounds like it would have been fun, but like I said, it is the bus trip that doesn't sound appealing.
-
2 Canadian friends will be visiting Thailand and I am making the travel arrangements for the 4 of us. The group will consist of 3 male Canadians and my Thai wife. My wife and I have been to Phuket a few times by plane and we've recently been told that travelling by sleeper trains can be a good experience.
The pros of taking the train from Bangkok to Phuket (stopping in Surat Thani and transferring by bus) vs. the plane as I can see them are
- save 1 night of a hotel booking
-meet people while on the train
-enjoy the scenery as it goes by
-a new experience
The part that worries me is the bus ride from Surat Thani to Phuket. The website I found says that the bus can be anywhere from 4-6 hours.Just wondering if the bus ride is comfortable/enjoyable after a long train ride or if we should just take the plane?
Thanks for all input

Just wondering if it is possible to fly from one of the isaan airports to Phuket?
-
the airport is functional. The Royal Family, the Army, and Happy Air http://happyair.co.th/ use it
-
My wife is a true back-seat driver. She pokes, hits, pushes, hugs, and yells in my ear to let me know how she thinks I should be riding. I ignore her for the most part.
-
Google Happy Air. I believe the fly out of the Don Muang airport though

I wanted to do a loop of Thailand this December or January. 14 days. 500 km a day. I will be seeing Thailand on the back of a Wave or PCX, But if anyone thinks they are up for it, lets go Any bike welcome.
I am interested, work permitting. How about a new thread for this?!

1400 seems like a lot of money for that kind of cable.

My wife and I went to HK with no problems at all.

Hey guys who live in KK, is this the service centre that can handle the valve clearance check? http://www.honda.co.th/en/dealer_network/inside.php?DealerId=136

I need to get my cbr250 serviced and it looks like KK is the best place even though I am over 200 km away. I'd like to leave the bike overnight with them so that it is cool in the morning for the valve clearance check. Looking for contact details or a map link or GPS coordinates. Thanks!

Ah, so that is what is doing it! OK, is it possible keep the ad blocker and edit the preferences so that I can see the Thai Classifieds?
-
First off, I can't see any of the Thai Visa classifieds in their entirety. They dont load properly. Second, I can't get into the Forum Help Desk, I get a "404 Bad Request Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand." Screenshots below. PS. I am using Chrome with Ubuntu Linux OS. I've included a Firefox Screenie and a Chrome Screenie

My RAM mount finally arrived! Very easy to install and I am very pleased with it. Now I need to hook up the GPS charger to the wiring of the bike. Anyone have a wiring map or know where the wires for the lights are located?

Try switching them over to raw chicken wings for more improvement. Kibble is like eating McDonalds 3 meals a day.

Just a quick question here! This is the oil I have been using for the first 1,000 km. Is it the right one? And what does the oil for after 1,000 km look like? Oh, and I need to get a proper 1,000 km check done. Any recommendations for where to have it done in either Korat/Mahasrakam/Kon Khaen or even better Roi Et?
When it came to my 6k service I happened to be in Kon Khaen for an overnight visit from Bangkok.... a bit of a flog there and back but...
I used the Honda main dealer in the centre of town which is on a major junction with Mitthapap... can't miss it!
They were helpful and good at what they did.
Thanks for this info. I guess I'll need to ride in the night before so that the engine can cool for the morning. Cheers!

Actually, the 4T JASO MA 10W-30 (blue cap) is supposed to be used in the Wave. For the CBR, you need to use 4T JASO MA 40 (red cap). Most of our CBR customers use it, although some like to use Motul H-Tech (10W40 4T).
OK thanks for the info. That bottle there was not actually the bottle that went into my machine so now I have to go back and check again. I didn't realise the difference in the color of the caps so just snapped a picture of the nearest one. That one there is mineral isn't it?? And we're supposed to change to Synthetic after 1,000km?
