More so mentioned as you don't need a permit to carry, opened or concealed.

I see your point, but that only gives the people who don't wish to carry the right to. That leaves us to guess how many do. But in a state where you still need to get a permit the people getting them are likely to do so. Take New Jersey for example.

1.75 Mt I aint no midget, my father was the same its in my genes.

That pack a day also keeps the weight off. Everyone I know who gave up smoking gained a lot of weight. I think when you don't have a cigarette to put in your mouth, you substitute it with food.

I expect that this is the only correct advice she could be given, as these speed traps/cameras seem to be locally administered.

I have had a few speeding fines over the years. Each time I (well, my wife - as the car is in her name) received a letter containing the location/date/time/speed. I don't recall whether there was a photo.

Generally, I am a law abiding driver. My only excuse for breaking the law is that some highways seem to have variable speed limits (120/80/60) which are not very well posted, and not easily understood. For example: 60kph in a school zone at 19:00hrs.

My attitude is: Pay the fine and just accept it as part of the overall cost of the journey.

  4. A friend of mine used to answer those calls with "XXXX police department, Sargent Wilso speaking" or sometimes "I'm glad you called. Did you accept that bid I put in." and then lead the conversation off into another direction.

  5. I never even knew any Jewish people until I was out of high school. Now I would say that most of my friends back in the States are Jewish. I can't remember many Jewish jokes. I was taken to something where they had a comedian who told Jewish jokes. Very funny. I remember he did some about dating ads. A 90-year-old man, not looking for long-term relationship. An three-time widow looking for someone to fill out a four-place burial plot. Ofcourse, some of the best comedians of all time were Jewish.

  6. In the US a couple of years back, many of the Hispanic families moved out. The workers were legal but many in their families were not. Then there was a labor shortage. Many of the fast food chains could not get workers for the $10 an hr, they were paying, so a wage war started, most went to $15, Panda Express went as high as $18. so they had to start paying more. Some were even giving out bonuses if they stayed on for 6 months. Even then many of the shops shortened their hours. The farmers couldn't get the field workers they needed because they could make more money doing easier work at the fast food shops. Now everyone wants to know why the price of food has gone up.

  7. I don't think one way or another. But, indeed, I don't believe I have ever seen one on any one of my many flights. I was once surprised to see a fairly young woman operating a cargo train that seemed a mile long.

Coincidentally I had a tooth pulled YESTERDAY  at the Chiang Mai Ram dental clinic - 1600 baht. Asked why I did't want to "repair" the tooth with root canal work and a crown - yeah, for 30,000 baht, then ten years later the crown falls apart. Better five minutes of discomfort as the dentist did a great job of extracting it. He tried to talk me into an implant but a simple denture will do me.

Mileage may differ. I had a bridge put in. Two root canals, on each side of the bridge. Going on 40 years ago. The bridge is a bit worn, to say the least.

  9. My wife does this, and I have seen the new hair growth. She takes about 3/4 cup of ginger and chops it up really fine. Pounds it a bit. Heats it in the microwave until it is hot. Wraps it in a clean cloth. Then after washing her hair, she uses the wrapped ginger to massage her scalp for 5 minutes, reheating the ginger when it cools down. Leaves it on for 5 minutes and then washes it off. 3 to 4 days in a row. She said the first day the top of her head gets really hot, but the following days are not so bad.

  10. I have never been much for shots. My last flu shot was around 2010. But I did take the COVID shots. Being in my late 70's I have many friends that haven't been as lucky as I have with my health. One was in a senior home that would have prevented me from visiting if I hadn't had the COVID shots. Just this year I know of two people who came down with COVID (Both just after flying to the West Coast from the east [Ohio, Delaware]). Both had had their shots. Both had flu-like symptoms for about a week. Will I take another COVID shot? At this point, I do not know. Playing it by ear.
