I wonder why Texas gets mentioned as so violent. It has 3 of the safest cities on the FBI top 10 list.

During my Uni years, I lived near an Indian Reservation (US). One day, one of the Indian locals came down the street with a cast on his leg. I asked him what had happened. He pointed to the fourth-floor window across the street and said he fell out of the window backward. He said Thank God he was drunk at the time or he surely would have died.

When your number is up you are not going to be thinking beforehand " Boy, I'm glad I took such in such or I would be dead already" or " If I had only taken such and such I could waste another week of oxygen."

That pack a day also keeps the weight off. Everyone I know who gave up smoking gained a lot of weight. I think when you don't have a cigarette to put in your mouth, you substitute it with food.

I'm doing OK. The house and car are paid for, and I don't have any debt. I haven't had to touch any of my savings or investments in years. My health is good. I don't live large but I am comfortable.

Although it may sound odd, some do go to the Wat to meditate that early. Meditate for an hr and then listen to a talk from a monk. My wife does one of these once a year.

I expect that this is the only correct advice she could be given, as these speed traps/cameras seem to be locally administered.
I have had a few speeding fines over the years. Each time I (well, my wife - as the car is in her name) received a letter containing the location/date/time/speed. I don't recall whether there was a photo.
Generally, I am a law abiding driver. My only excuse for breaking the law is that some highways seem to have variable speed limits (120/80/60) which are not very well posted, and not easily understood. For example: 60kph in a school zone at 19:00hrs.
My attitude is: Pay the fine and just accept it as part of the overall cost of the journey.

Someone has to be blamed for this failed experiment and clean up the lab afterward.

A friend of mine used to answer those calls with "XXXX police department, Sargent Wilso speaking" or sometimes "I'm glad you called. Did you accept that bid I put in." and then lead the conversation off into another direction.

I never even knew any Jewish people until I was out of high school. Now I would say that most of my friends back in the States are Jewish. I can't remember many Jewish jokes. I was taken to something where they had a comedian who told Jewish jokes. Very funny. I remember he did some about dating ads. A 90-year-old man, not looking for long-term relationship. An three-time widow looking for someone to fill out a four-place burial plot. Ofcourse, some of the best comedians of all time were Jewish.

In the US a couple of years back, many of the Hispanic families moved out. The workers were legal but many in their families were not. Then there was a labor shortage. Many of the fast food chains could not get workers for the $10 an hr, they were paying, so a wage war started, most went to $15, Panda Express went as high as $18. so they had to start paying more. Some were even giving out bonuses if they stayed on for 6 months. Even then many of the shops shortened their hours. The farmers couldn't get the field workers they needed because they could make more money doing easier work at the fast food shops. Now everyone wants to know why the price of food has gone up.

I don't think one way or another. But, indeed, I don't believe I have ever seen one on any one of my many flights. I was once surprised to see a fairly young woman operating a cargo train that seemed a mile long.

Slingshot. You get good at a distance, soon they are gone when they see you coming.
Used to use an ultrasonic device that included a flashlight. Worked pretty well with the younger dogs, hurts their ears. Older dogs, not as well, maybe they don't hear as well.

Coincidentally I had a tooth pulled YESTERDAY at the Chiang Mai Ram dental clinic - 1600 baht. Asked why I did't want to "repair" the tooth with root canal work and a crown - yeah, for 30,000 baht, then ten years later the crown falls apart. Better five minutes of discomfort as the dentist did a great job of extracting it. He tried to talk me into an implant but a simple denture will do me.
Mileage may differ. I had a bridge put in. Two root canals, on each side of the bridge. Going on 40 years ago. The bridge is a bit worn, to say the least.

It was about 10 years ago, so I don't remember what it cost, but they brought someone in and I was given a foot massage during the whole procedure.

There is a woman's side Locally, her much older husband died. Left her a nice house and a bit of money. She is nearly 55, not the beauty she was 30 years ago when she met him. She is very lonely. The only men she can attract now are looking more at the house and the swimming pool than at her. A very good chance she will live the rest of her life alone. Thai women worry a lot about that outcome.

My wife does this, and I have seen the new hair growth. She takes about 3/4 cup of ginger and chops it up really fine. Pounds it a bit. Heats it in the microwave until it is hot. Wraps it in a clean cloth. Then after washing her hair, she uses the wrapped ginger to massage her scalp for 5 minutes, reheating the ginger when it cools down. Leaves it on for 5 minutes and then washes it off. 3 to 4 days in a row. She said the first day the top of her head gets really hot, but the following days are not so bad.

I have never been much for shots. My last flu shot was around 2010. But I did take the COVID shots. Being in my late 70's I have many friends that haven't been as lucky as I have with my health. One was in a senior home that would have prevented me from visiting if I hadn't had the COVID shots. Just this year I know of two people who came down with COVID (Both just after flying to the West Coast from the east [Ohio, Delaware]). Both had had their shots. Both had flu-like symptoms for about a week. Will I take another COVID shot? At this point, I do not know. Playing it by ear.

I see your point, but that only gives the people who don't wish to carry the right to. That leaves us to guess how many do. But in a state where you still need to get a permit the people getting them are likely to do so. Take New Jersey for example.
