Why it's better, if you will never open them
-
Why glass louvers and small ventilation windows in Thailand opens only to the angle in which hot air flow into the building? Isn't it completely stupid? Maybe, for Europe it's ok (hot air inside, cold - outside, hot flows out) but not for Thailand! It's nothing but stupid imitation. What next? Radiator under every window?
What do you think about it? Yes, I understand, it keep out rain. But we have big roofs, and don't want to have heat inside a house.

Just returned from Mumbai. Was shocked by their little street shops "Modern fresh juices" after Thai fruit shakes, diluted with water, sugar sirup and ice.
I never tried such juices! They full of pulp and have little note of sugar and ice. Because of shop had half closed windows, I didn't get, how they cook such juices. I only noticed, they have 3 steps, in one step they grind fruit (or pulp of the fruit).
Maybe somebody know exact recipe?

I used them to make a bed for the dog. The wife wasn't happy but the dog seemed okay with them.

didnt know MC Hammer was making a comebackSome sellers call them an MC Hammer's pants. But it's the Afghan pants actually, I heard, Afghans put a hot pot into a pants to keep the body warm. I can't check is it true or not, because all sites in Google results for "afghan pants" are pants' shops.
BTW people, I found a seller in Phrao, so - now I wait for a package.

How to find them!
-
Hello!
I spent a lot of time in searching of afghan/Aladdin pants for men:
But Thais sells mostly woman pants (with a girlish shirr) or only two kinds of men pants, made with a very coarse heavy fabric.
Maybe, somebody know, where to buy pants, which sells on http://www.bolinat.com/cat/198/Aladdin-Pants ? They buy it from India, but look, like they will deliver them from USA. Or, maybe, you know online sellers in India?

Hello!
There is laptop cleaning services in some countries. They clean a cooling system (very hard to clean by yourself but very critical to keep it clean), remove crumbs from under a keyboard, clean display in such a way that no stains left, clean a laptop body and the keyboard from a dirt.
Do you know, there are such services in Chiang Mai maybe?

Hello, guys!
I'm trying to find a component cable for old Xbox (XBox 360 cables are incompatible with firs XBox version). So, because most of shops have no reason to sell this rare thing, I have no idea where to go. Can you help me with advice, where to buy it?
P. S. Buying XBox 360 isn't the way - I use the old box as advanced media center (with XBMC player).

Used Northwheels about a month ago when the car was in the shop - just gave them a copy of my passport and 5k cash as a deposit. They checked the copy against the real passport and then gave it back to me. When I returned the car, they did a quick check, then gave me back the same 5K (stappled to the copy of my passport - which they also returned). No worries.
Bus is probably still cheaper though - what is it, 250B or so for a ticket to Maesai, 15B per person Songtaew and 500B per person for Burmese taxes? Much cheaper than renting a car even before petrol/gas!
Yep, I tried to hire car second time at Journey Travel (first time I asked my British friend to leave passport), but at that time I brought my Russian friend - they f....d my brain with "we can't take Russian passport, it's our terms" and other Thai crap. 2 mins of ride to North-East corner, sudden stop at North Wheels - voila, I got a car. But, unfortunately, tires of hired Vios was awful - I had several hard moments on mountain roads. Also equipment of car was minimal. Looks, like North Wheels saving on everything, include maintenance. Strange for such a big company with higher than market prices (usually Vios cost 1200-1300 p/day, at NW it cost 1500).

Hello all! I have a myopia and my sight often focusing on eye floaters. Heard about a surgery - that floaters burns by YAG laser. Is it available in Thailand?

RoastLamb: you are right, but most of rental services looks unprofessional and inadequate. Bad car condition, hijacking ("you scratched my car"), etc - I don't want it.
-
Maejo Man: hmm, as I remember, there aren't address on Thai driving license.
-
thaimiller: yep, I did the same thing before, in Pop service exactly. But 2 weeks ago I came to them and they didn't want to any words from me - they wanted passport, period. Maybe you can advice an office, where you rent a car by this way? I tried an office opposite Thapae Gate.
anonymouse: later, now we do a breastfeeding. And I plane to rent a car sometimes, but don't plane to leave my passport.
Jdietz: yep, thanks for advice. My friend told me about some credit card from SCB, with strict limits, but he couldn't say, what the name of that card.

I need to rent a car for visa runs (we have a baby now), so I can't leave a passport in rental firm. Second option - give them a card with embossing (usually it's a credit card, but sometimes it can be a debit card). I have only debit cards without embossing.
Can I, as a tourist, get any card with embossing in Thai banks and how to do it?

Hello, when I trying to open most of Russian websites, I got error "connection dropped by remote server". It's very strange thing, I can ping that hosts, can connect by telnet or ssh, but they drop http.
Owners of Hinet ADSL, pls, check, for example, http://yandex.ru or http://habrahabr.ru - do you have same problem?

There is a small canoe club between Tara Bar (sorry, if I mixed up the name) and a little park with a statue in the center, opposite of Gawila Military Grounds. I had visited this place several times and couldn't catch any workers. Everything open, workers' things lie on table, but there aren't anybody. Is somebody know, how to rent those canoes?

Hello!
Just moved in, couldn't find any massage shops, only tons of washing machines, coffee shops and mansions for students.
