I am in Chiang Mai.

I have made a complete mess of installing some new apps.

I will willingly pay for someone to come round and sort out the problems.

Needless to say I am a complete idiot when it comes to tech. ,Probably because at the age of 77 I am too old.

The MINIX box was provided with some apps,since I bought it from Thai Expat TV,but I want some more programms

Eversince I arrived in thailand Ive bought French butter,its more expensive than the brands referred to but Its butter and tastes as butter should taste.

On 24 Jan I posted EMS at 850 Baht a letter to my bank in UK.

As of today it has not been received.,,,,,so thats 15 days

Checking on the tracking it appears to have reached Bangkok on 26th but no further info.

Can anyone reccomend the next step?

It would be interesting find out the conditions for the transport of the goods.Surely the delivery of the goods to the address notified would be part of the contract. To syphon off delivery to another company,which will include high extra charges would not meet the original contract price. which would have been delivery to the address for the original specified price.

I am taking up this item with my vendor, at the minimum ,their price should show this extra charge.

The goods did not include any taxes,just the extra cost for this additional company involvment

its been some time since I have ordered from UK.The carrier was UPS.

They seems to have hit on a new .....to me...fundraiser.

In the past my packages were delivered b y an UPS van with no charges. Now they use the services of UPS Delivery Service and make a charge ,in my case 804 baht.

Nice little earner for them..charging for a service that doesnt include delivery.

Seems to me the the best course is to give NIGEL the job.

I have a MinixNEOX6 box and wanted to instal TV5 ,a french channel. 

During the installation the screen advised me of a 500bsht/month charge. There was also a 'watch for free' selection that didnt work.

Anyone had this as well.

While I am at it,I have a 35-15 internet connection from Sinet which I am happy with .Is there any advantage to me to pay for a faster,and more expensive service?

PROBALY THE WRONG FORUM,but I watched the Shirley Bassey program on BBC1 this morning.

Didnt know she will be 80 next year but apart from the idiot who presented the show,she is still fabulous. 

True, she chose her songs to cover her aging voice but the high notes and volume were still there.

Actualy its TV5Monde and i thnk its canadian although I could be wrong.

Ive just had a 'google' on TV5Monde.Its a worldwide network.

I watch it most evenings mainly for the 'dubbed'French films

The program on Sunday was a series of two french families who had won prizes for a holiday which turned out to include visits to a nudist beachclub.....All quite unremarkable except to the Thai prude on the True buitton

I was amused on Sunday evening by the frequent screen notices of cencordship while watching TV5.

The slightest screenshot of male buttocks or/and female breasts,immeadiatly brought up the 'cencord' notice, in all about 40 times

Big brother was obviously watching

I have noticed that the signal from my Sinet router gives me a duller picture on my TV compared with the satellite signal.

Its a good picture but not quite as bright

I have played arround with the TV controls to try to brighten the picture,but not much difference. 

Is this normal? or is there something I can do?

I am considering ditching True in future and relying on the internet signal         Sinet have proved to me that their  35-15 service appears quite adequate for my needs but any way to brighten the TV picture would be appreciated

as of last night...friday......still no TV5 channel working

Finaly I have made contact with my landlord who tells me that he will contact the condo manager. Dont know what difference it will make though.

My agent agrees that 'Prom" are ignoring the TM30 for repeat applications...but since there is no immigration record of my address,it will still not be accepted.

This whole episode is simply stupid. They have accepted my address on my  90day pages applications for the last 2 years.

I am inclined to agree with other posters that this whole experience is nothing more than 'money grabbing' by immigration

The manager of my condo is quite adamment that it is NOT for him to get the TM30,but is for the owner of the apartment or "HIS AGENT".Since my landlord is not here,I think he is in Belgium I am now stuck. Maybe the house agent he used would be OK ,but that was 2 years ago.

My visa agents are trying their best to overcome this problem,but since I got my Bank letter confirmation this morning and was expecting the immigration appointment tomorrow for my resident extension,it would appear to me a very difficult situation..

If there is a delay,it will mean that I would have to get a new bank letter at the least

Nationwide International is closing 2017,so members using this bank will need to change banks if they are proposing to transfer money to a Thai bank

I upgraded to Platinum from Gold today by phone and asked what I already knew .. for him to confirm I get all EPL included in the package. (2155 baht).

He confirmed. He said something about the Bein channels will appear on the 5th August but possibly he said 6th as I did not make notes.

Within minutes I had access to all the Platinum channels so no need to go to a True shop.

He warned I could not go back to Gold at my previous rate. Presumeably new Gold customers pay more than existing ones. That wont happen.

I contacted the TRUE help line on thursday and requested I change from the Gold to Platinum.

This was done yesterday

My equipment is 15 mtrs apart,so a cable isnt on. and I dont want any cable along the floor

All their claims have been preceeded by the word MAY.

Lets be more specific.....No one can possibly know what might happen should the UK vote for Brexit. The EU might act tough or they might be reasonable.Come June 23rd we will see.

CTH risen from the dead.

I was fed up with the on screen message and havnt tried CTH for a week.

Had nothing to do .so this morning,expecting the same on screen message I switch the CTH box on.

Hundreds of channels...Sky News and American channels,stadium channels all working.Many channels also in HD and SD.

I have no idea why

On tuesday I paid another 999baht for a further month for 'beyond CTH.

Now no signal for this,just the onscreen message .

Telephone calls useless.

So,they take my money and thats it.

If they dont get any joy from Bein I can only say 'good riddance"

Its a pity because their Stadium channels were very good.

THANKS for all your sugestions....I'm staying with XP and putting up with the problems.

I have been using security from Trend. It gives me monthly reports....it said that I had been attacked hundreds of times and all attacks nulified. Thaivisa was a major item for malware attacks !!!

I do have one problem, its Google Earth. It disapeared from my computer and when I attempt to reinstall it ,it wont take.

So is there any other way of installing?
