  1. Was thinking of buying a tablet PC for 3,990 Baht and they seem to do almost everything an IPad or a Samsung Tab can do. However I hardly see anyone buying these. Are the cheap tablet PCs so much worse and not worth buying? I tried them and they are okay for internet use and watching movies.

  2. owning a dog is not only popular in Thailand. In Germany they number a few millions well fed and looked after. An important economic factor. Some old people who live alone keep them for company.I have 3 they guard our house.I suppose you never had a dog.Otherwise you would not ask.

Correct, I have never owned one and I am still deciding whether or not. But I have read both positive and negative comments. Some people saying dogs are wonderful others saying they are tired of dogs and will never own one again.

  3. Relationships are for sale here either short time, time share, or mortgage variety. Any freak or weirdo will have no problems at all as long as they have the money. The only people who might struggle are those acclimatised to real relationships and have not wiped off their morals and culture from their shoes at immigration when they enter the country.

Unfortunately I am also one of the people who is dreaming of a real relationship and I do not want the mortgage variety either so I guess I must be standing on lost ground.

  4. I would say that if you have never had a sucessful relationship in your own country, the odds aren't good of having one here. It also depends on what you class as a "relationship", to some guys it may mean keeping a bar girl on for a few weeks and then trading her in for a new one. My longest lasting falang female relationship was about 8 years, don't know what category that puts me in, probably "the grass was always greener" category.

Relationship for me is something longterm. What you get in Pattaya is certainly not a genuine relationship for me and I have ahd it before but definitely not fulfilling.

  5. Well sex or no sex. Cash or no cash.. The wife, missus or gf is also demanding money. Same thing as the hookers. Just that one demand it upfront, the other other demand it long term, milking u slowly for life

When dating the missus. U need both time & energy & resources to date. before hopefully getting ur schlong into her

When with the hookers. U cut the chase and go down to action. cutting the dating crap off. More like a no nonsense straight to the point style.

Well to each to his own. I am not encouraging in anyway. Just the way i see things.

Either way, both method needs money. if u dun have money, be prepared to die a lonely death ALONE.

There is no honour in love nowadays..

    How

Shoot me if I ever wake up in the morning and feel this way. blink.png

Me too - what a pathetic view of the opposite sex, and marriage.

    Unfortunately the truth hurts sometimes

  6. Some of the people you think are 'Thai Chinese' are probably just regular old Thai. Thais are migrants from southern China originally. There is a wide variety in appearance and skin tone among those with little or no recent Chinese ancestry. Just because they don't look like your average dark skinned farang bar girl doesn't mean anything.

No the regular old Thai are usually more tan. if you look at the old historic photographs you see that the old high society mostly darker skinned. The Chinese started to become more prominent after World War 2 in Thai society.

But my point is that Isaan people and South people are much higher percentange that Thai Chinese so in a normal world they should be more present in the media. It is not that daker skinned Thais are uglier than white skinned ones. Thai should be proud of their heritage and not worship white skin.

  7. Some people were waiting for nearly 2 hours last night because the cityline trains (3 carriages) were completely full. Meanwhile the express train (4 carriages) were rolling by with about 20 passengers on them.

Some people were waiting for nearly 2 hours last night because the cityline trains (3 carriages) were completely full. Meanwhile the express train (4 carriages) were rolling by with about 20 passengers on them.

The sucks totally, because they used to have a 12 minute schedule in rush hour times which okay, then now they switched to evry 15 minutes and hell breaks lose and people cannot board train because they are just too full. They should utilize the express train as a Cityline.

  8. Noticed this last month that the airport / cityline is having more delays and and fallouts. There is a change of the schedule everyday and if one asks the staff at the stations nobody seems to know and pretends everything is allright.

Anyone have any idea what is going on or are the tracks or vehicles broken?

  9. I witnessed that many of my Farang friends are humorously surprised by the panic mode of many Bangkokians who have within days emptied the shelves of food supplies water and are building sand bag fortresses. The media is not helping much to boost credibility among expats because they cause alarms and then nothing happens.

Are the Farangs right in their recation, are Thai panicking without reason? Or is the situation more critical than we thought and the Thais are making the correct preventative measures?

  10. URGENT:

Residents near Klongtan, Phra Kanong, Pattanakarn & Bangkapi should move belongings to at least 1 m high

Any further information on this? Where is the flood going to come from, Klong Dan? When is it expected? Is 1m the predicted level for these areas or the absolute maximum? As a Phra Khanong resident, any info would be very welcome!!

Same here is there anywhere where we can check for updates on water in Pattanakarn?

  11. Obama cannot close Guantanamo, give his people social security like he promised, leave Afghanistan or make the congress vote for a raise of the american debt in time so that the markets don't go crazy.

Sarkozy can't do anything to keep jobs in his own country.

Japan under huge pression from lobbies cannot go away from nuclear despite Fukushima's disaster and the population desperate to get out of nuclear.

And you think that in a country super corrupted a change of government will actually change anything ?

Thank you for the laugh !

No the governments are useless. You are right.

  12. Nice to see the Taksinphobics crawl out of the woodwork and have a field day. You deserve it, it was a tough loss in the election. You call it close, but realistically never stood a chance.

Anyway, when will you realize that as vehemently as you try to put your point across that Taksin is evil and bad for the country, nothing will change. Most of us on TV are foreigners who for as hard as we try will never be able to influence any Thai election. The evil you call, the Thai masses see as a hero. You can brag as much as you want about the Dems outstanding achievement while in office, but the Thai's do not see it that way. Accept the country for what it is, you fell in love with the people and the place. What you have seen is the will of the people, accept it and get on with life. Junk that pointy white hood and stop this witch-hunt. Deep down, you know it's not getting you anywhere. Respect the country, respect the people and respect their decision.

Actually his hero badge cost quite a few dollars, maybe he sees that the back taxes he's avoided balance it all out.

You say hero, I say nastiest most cunning, most lacking in morals manipulator of his fellow countrymen in world history.

I read in another post that someone was saying Thaksin was brilliant. Well an evil man can be brilliant too :(

  13. Pro-tip: see every MP that was bought in 2000 to build TRT.

Why not just answer the question and name the feudal lords. If you can't just say so.

Why not say that you are too lazy to look up the MPs (and their connections) that was bought in 2000 and before then?

The only MPs that I have ever said were bought were the forty "Friends of Newin" who were bought in a deal negotiated by General Anupong in Abhisit's presence on an Army Base- this was filmed on TV. Senior politicians have admitted in the run up to this current election that huge sums of money were paid to install Abhisit as PM.

You on the other hand have stated that this election was won because Thaksin(?) bought Feudal Lords that control constituencies. I have asked you for the source for your statement and you haven't/can't give one.

I have asked you to name a few of these feudal lords and you haven't/can't name a single one.

I have asked you what possible reason there would have been to buy any Feudal Lords (if in fact they exist and aren't a figment of your imagination) when there was never any doubt that Jingluck Shinawatra was going to win the election anyway. You can't give any such reason.

I believe your whole post was just a work of fiction dreamed up by you and all that you're doing now is waffling to save face. Which is why you're trying to go back to 2000 in a rather stupid attempt to justify your comments on the election of July 2011 which all observers (Thai and foreign) say was a fair and well run honest election.

OH Thaksin is it you? Did no tknow you were posting on Thaivisa. LOL!

  14. It is amazing that so many in this forum has such an obsession with Thaksin and everything related... can't be healthy .. get over your obsession and try to contribute to the society in a positive way instead and no I do not mean have an extra Singha at the bar or where ever you office is .;-)

You have your obsessions, I'll have mine. I will continue to criticize thaksin in the hope that more people realize what a snake this man is and realize the huge and multi-facated damage he has done to thailand, in the hope that people learn to not allow scaly people like this gain so much power over the country.

Getting more people to be aware of what values and moral mean and how they are important to building a strong country with equality and better opportunities for all is a positive contribution.

The sad thing is however that many people who voted for Thaksin know that he is a cheater and liar however they would prefer him over a gentleman who is incompetent. At the end of the days the people vote for the person who puts money in their pockets and Abhisit failed badly.

  15. Thais seem to be mad about fopball ...

    ThaiFootball.jpg

Quite how/why someone can get excited about people kicking a pig's bladder around a field, and sometimes pay ridiculous amounts of money to go to a 'game', when for considerably less money I can get a cinema ticket and watch a film that cost $£m's to make. Just why people enjoy running the risk of getting half-frozen/drowned, food poisoning and suffer sitting on lousy plastic chairs, is beyond me.

I would understand is if you support a team if you are from that city. as for me I am from Hamburg so I support my team regardless how well they play> hpwever the Thais have no real connections to any teams regardless and they are not supporting their own Thai Premier League teams as much. Eventhoug the Thai teams need as much support as they can get.
