  1. Try the Hopf House enclosed air con Beach Road soi 13. Food good, beer good, live music and one of the band burst into operatic type singing...if you like that its very good. :o

There is also the Caddy Shack Soi 17 enclosed air con, and round the corner from there the Highlander open bar very good toilets fans only which is off Thepprasit Road Soi 10. :D

These places are all hastle free!

  2. My laptop is a Dell. So I thought I would tell them about this problem since I still have warranty. They asked me to carry out some tasks, which I could not! They duly said they will send out their engineer on Tuesday (today). He arrived installed the new drive and updated the BIOS. When they said they would. WOW! :o

  3. Last year Four Winds for a partial move packing ourselves from one house to another same village was 12,000 THB.

So barryofthailand you best save a lot of money for a packing company!!! I would guess not much change out of 25,000 for what you want! :o

  4. How else can you adjust the temperature? :o
    Turn the heating up?

Aircon is ok - but if you can cope with some heat why choose Thailand - we often kill the aircon as it's too cold at night and just sleep with a fan on. :D

Same same us. Often have it on for 10 - 15 mins then switch off and have fan only. Cannot believe that electricity is more expensive here than UK? But I suppose if you have all air con on all the time that will do it everytime. The other thing is the meter is faulty?

  5. The good news after working on it for bloody hours its fixed.

And just in case someone else ever has the same problem this is what I did.

I placed a cd cleaner into the drive.

I then removed the drive from my laptop and carefully wiped the external area with a clean dry cloth.

Placed it back in and it worked.

  6. An hour ago I used it. It is physically still there but if I play a disc nothing comes up. If I click on 'run' an error message comes up saying that the drive is unavailable.

    Thanks

    begs

  7. I would like to thank george for such a great party...(the Friday and the Saturday) or at least the bits I remember about it!!! :o

Martin thanks for organising the room and for your kind attention.

By the way the bread survived the journey back although I thought raro and his mrs might scoff the lot during the drive home!! :D

  8. Pattaya city sign : broken or parts stolen, who knows? Pattaya city admin does not seem to have grapsed the concept of maintenance and repair.

Boats : why would they leave their lights on if they are sleeping or nobody home? There's not much boat movement in the darkness so probably don't bother with lights. Remember you are talking about the same people that happily ride motorbikes/drive pickups at night with no lights.

    :o:D

  9. In reply to the member with the scarcastic humour thank you for your comment new member and will read the date in future.

people who live in glass house dont throw stones

  10. Really sorry to hear about this Kurgen I hope you have a full recovery.

I do recall raising the issue about dogs in our village and got a pm from a tv member advising me that the action I was planning could have serious consequences...well he wasn't wrong!

I would imagine that anyone who witnessed this has been 'put in their place' by now. But even at that how can anyone justify stabbing another person?

Why does the dog thing raise such serious issues?

  11. I had a great night with you all. In particular its was great to meet up with an old friend and his wife to be. Hadn't see them both for a long time. :D

But perhaps we need to invent a 'bum pad' so if the inevitable happens with one or more of us and we go down on our arse there is a bit more padding! They could be handed out at the beginning of the evening. Perhaps a blow up small tyre inner tube might do? :o

  12. Have a question for you guys and girls.

Do you think socializing out side a forum changes the way

you treat posters on a forum, who don't socialize out side the forum.

    Good or Bad?

    Keep it nice please. :D

As if we wouldn't! :o But I do think meeting members puts a more positive spin on how I have perceived them. It is possible to misinterpret the point another member is trying to make whe they post on the board because I don't really know them. In Pattaya I have always enjoyed the Friday night out. In all the time I have been involved I have never known members on the Friday night to show bad feeling towards each other. I recommend it to any who have never experienced it.

In my opinion having worn a kilt on many occasions that it is far more comfortable than wearing shorts. That is as long as it is worn properly! :D

Come on Begs, you just want to ditch the black uniform for a dress

Its ok, you can tell us. :D

Well as I speak I'm in black! But since you made the suggestion it wearing the kilt would be a huge improvement. One little correction I would suggest is if you wish you use a term to describe the kilt other kilt it should be 'skirt' not 'dress' as a dress covers the top part of the body as well as the bottom half as one single garment. The kilt covers only the lower part of the body from the waist down.

    begs

I thought it stopped above the knees :D Oh well I'm probably wrong :o:D

Technically the kilt covers half the knee when worn correctly. But some of us require longer length if you know what I mean! :D:D
