I know of at least three Thai women who are going to leave there pricks of husbands, as soon as they get there ILR visa, and i say good luck to them, if there husbands had treat them like human beings instead of a accessory, Some even have GPS on there wife's phones to know where they are at all times . two sides to every story, so i have been told in he past.

Yes I do keep my secrets but it piss me off to see all these bleeding hearts describe how they have been let down, ripped off. BY Thai women. And i was not having a dig at the poster, Just another Point from a different angle. if i have offended the poster it was not intentional.

I am the OP, you didn't offend me one bit but really from what I have seen and experienced first hand regardless of our relationship and who was nasty to who, a person stringing the other along so they qualify to stay in a country makes them just as bad as the person they are slagging off, if not worse.

A liar, a devious person that will do and say anything to get support from others to get what they want and they don't care who they hurt in the process...

in my case I am over the initial split but what happens now if I do meet someone else and want to take it further? my hands are tied till I get the divorce sorted and the woman that I fought hard to get here with the UKBA who refused the first visa and we had to appeal, the money I threw at getting her here, all the time I spent with her teaching her English so she could pass her exams to stay here, the people I knew who had Thai partners that I introduced her to who all made her feel welcome...the woman who said 'I do' when we got married who now I find out obviously had no intention in staying with me regardless of what I did for her, what I gave financially or in my time.... i'd be careful if I were you as them crocodile tears you've seen from the 3 women married to pricks looking to do the bunk when their paper work is sorted may be as genuine as a ralph lauren shirt bought in patpong in my opinion....

this woman was introduced and welcomed by my family and friends...she's cheated them as well...

physical confrontation and intimidation and when they get someone who won't be bullied full on violence?

now who are we to deny what you did or didn't see and experience within soi 9 police station from your time there as there is zero evidence? also who are you to deny that these things have actually happened when there is a good 40 odd page thread with youtube videos on it that was running last year on this very forum?

If you are on the wind up then well done but some of us here have either been or know people personally that have been attacked and bribed by these vermin, for me it wasn't jet skis but I have been intimidated in that police station by the coppers who were paid to do so by a danish farang and my ex business partner, they wanted my land that was valued at over 3 mil thb...luckily for me I had good connections/lawyer who would come out on a Saturday and deal with it!

Petercool.... inside the police station you will not witness any type of blackmail unless you are in the rooms out the back and please don't deny it goes on as I have personal experience to it!

Perhaps like most coppers you need to get up off your arse and go walk up and down Pattaya beach and actually take in what has been going on with regards to scams etc....

Yes I dare say there was and will always be genuine cases of damage to jet skis and cretins trying to wriggle out of it and play the dumb tourist but those are few and far between in comparison!

I will say this one more time despite the expected vitriolic responses .... I once worked at Soi 9 police station volunteer desk (have since stopped doing that) and saw many, many of the disputes that ended up there. A very large proportion of the disputes involved real damage - often considerable - and the issue was always that the renters offered ridiculous compensations like 500 baht and/or no acceptable compromise could be reached. The "scams" on the beach that never reach the station (which is the last place the operators want to be) are not widespread even if regular and they are extremely difficult to judge in terms of whether real damage has been done, what is proper compensation if damage has been done and how to resolve things. It is a City Hall issue and until proper regulation is put in place the issues will remain.

.As indicated earlier the Swiss guy had a piece of property for sale, I paid his price. Cleaned the property up and marketed properly and resold it within 6 months at a substantial profit. Swiss guy pissed off ...says I cheated him. Don't know how? I paid him his asking price ...I just saw something in the property he didn't see and yes I jumped on it ....isn't that what business is about?

So as to your question....I'm one of those people who you can completely trust...but there are few people I let in that circle as in the same vein I don't trust anybody but my own instincts....and when I make a mistake, I take it on the chin and move on.

I personally would prefer someone that say's it how it is to my face rather than behind my back, that way I can decide as to whether or not they are worth correcting and conversing with, if I was to face a loud mouth yank who said to me I am a man not to be trusted then I would have it out with them on the spot and demand they explain what they mean by what they said....

I can take it you left your people skills back in the good old U.S of A then and prefer the Thai way of gossip behind your back and maybe this is the way Thailand has changed you?

I have had my share of confrontations in life....and didn't always come out on top....but I never backed away....stubborn I guess.

And yes being in Thailand has changed my outlook on life...and I think for the better..

I'm am past the days of my youth and confrontation and, for me, its sometimes better to just walk away...

The best part of him insulting me is that I have not talked to him for 3 years since the incident ....and to be honest ...I happy with the peace that I get by not having to make small talk with him...

not talked to your neighbour for 3 years.... because of what he said and the fact you didn't ask him to explain himself when he first said it? it's not confrontation to ask someone to explain themselves especially when they have just insulted you....

He may have replied with a 'only joking' or the real reason as I see it is to let you know you have made an enemy with the Swiss chap.... anyway this was 3 years ago so it's a bit late to ask him what he meant by that...

better to walk away when its a stranger in a bar or on the road honking their horn at you or something and being aggro...but a neighbour who I would possibly see day in and day out whilst going about my business I personally would have put them straight from the get go, you think he is a haughty Brit and he probably thinks you are a yankee sap who has no backbone....
