  1. I am always amused by posters that can't, somehow, use spell-check.

Somebody mentioned to me recently that if you want to make a small fortune in business in Thailand - start with a big one! whistling.gif

I've been here for many years, but next year I am going to give the Philippines a go. I'm sure that the 'negatives' will be there also, but hey-ho, it's still better than living in UK.

that all depends how miserable your existence was in the U.K :whistling:

  2. I witness the scam yesterday afternoon across from the Royal Garden Mall.

I also see quite a few of the beach scammers are getting drunk on whiskey.

    Nice family resort.

Not another one, OMG....... that's shocking.

    JH

When you see young men less than 20 years old threatened by these thugs and taken to ATMs and forced to withdraw money or be injured .

Or young Chinese girls crying their eyes out in fear in the presence of these thugs and so called tourist police and forced to pay money because these guys have shown photo's where witnesses have seen as sd cards removed while the tourist is out on the water.

When you see weapons like steel umbrella pegs being used daily to extort people and nothing is done by authorities maybe you will understand why people like myself and others are concerned and want to see ended.

If you think this topic is boring Jebhead please don't comment.

    +1

looks like J.H is looking for a break from T.V forum....it's all so boring for him, please grant his wish MODS :jap:

  3. I see the police vigorously go after an "unlicensed" squid vendor on the beach but the police don't seem to notice the unlicensed jet ski mafia robbing tourists of hundreds of thousand of baht every day.

    Amazing.

Like the Mayor said: "it's complicated"

You and your side kick "saintofwhatever" need to get a life....... it sounds like you have made this jet ski deal your life's crusade? Please please tell me you have something better to do with your time, if not then that's very very sad!

    JH

what a life you've got eh, commenting and telling others what they should or should not do....

let's hope none of your friends or family ever fall victim to strong arm tactics innocent people have endured whilst on their hols :whistling:

  4. even when I was skint and living with a bargirl in pattaya with just enough money to survive on she found the money to buy me a card and present...this was 10 years ago.

i'd do 2 things, 1 kick her into touch or 2, if her birthday is close by hold on and give her sweet fanny adams....possibly just pack her bag for her to clear off, on her birthday :whistling:

personally I wouldn't have the patience to hold out for the latter...

  5. Bangkok motorists add danger to Pattaya's roads

PATTAYA: -- The vast number of cars bearing Bangkok plates seen around the town recently, as well as many from all over Central Thailand, bear witness to Pattaya's popularity as a safe haven from the floods.

The city's roads are now increasingly busy and increasingly dangerous, as many of the new drivers, especially some of the ones with Bangkok licence plates, are even worse than Pattaya's usual bunch of maniacs.

Some of the new guests display terrible driving skills, have no consideration for others on the roads, and they routinely carry out downright dangerous maneuvers, regardless of traffic or pedestrians around them.

Bangkok driver favourites seem to be blocking junctions by ignoring "do not block" hatchings, and zooming up on the inside lane and cutting into lines of traffic with millimeters to spare, as well as (today) seeing one come to a dead stop on Central Road as he talked on a telephone ignoring the horns and flashes of blocked, irate drivers.

Re; "Bangkok Refugees": TMT (too much traffic)!

Re; "Will they chill out?": <deleted> (too many crazy drivers), Chuck?!

    B)

It's very easy to be considered a bad driver when you're in a new city you don't know. Recently I toured Australia by road and visited many towns and cities I was unfamiliar with and I'm sure I would have been bothering impatient locals from time to time - it's totally unavoidable.

Baloney. Many of the (sadly displaced) people who have recently re-located to our area are Bangkok City drivers- they drive extremely aggressively and impolitely here. This is totally avoidable (you're at the beach now- it's ok to "chill out" a bit... like the locals). And, it's a big, unpleasant and dangerous side-effect of the unfortunate situation in Thailand/Pattaya at present.

    B)

have I been in a coma??? since when was anyone on Pattaya's roads chilled out

  6. Why pay that much? When I arrive, friend of mine sends me a private taxi out of Pattaya, he picks me up at the airport and drops me in Jomtien for 1500 Baht, all fees included...

car is clean, aircon and shock absorbers are working, driver is sober and not too reckless on the road...

you been had there....1500 baht :bah:

  7. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/8830718/Demand-for-strip-search-at-World-Scrabble-Championship.html

England's Ed Martin was accused of hiding a letter 'G' during a match. A Thai player wanted him to be taken to a toilet so he could be search, although authorities refused.

Mr Martin won the match in Warsaw, and no evidence was presented to support the Thai player's allegation.

Nigel Richards, a New Zealander, took the overall title after scoring 95 points with the word 'omnified'. He was awarded th £12,700 prize.

Mr Richards would have scored little for his acceptance speech, when he just responded: "Nice." It was the second time Mr Richards has claimed the title. He also won in 2007. He beat 116 competitors from 44 countries to be named champion.

The runner up was Andrew Fisher from Australia, who lost 3-2 in the final. The deciding rubber was a comfortable 476-334 win for Mr Richards.

    http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/3876954/Scrabble-rival-demands-strip-search-over-missing-G.html

THE World Scrabble Championship was thrown into chaos at the weekend after a competitor demanded a rival be strip-searched for hiding the letter 'G'.

Thai player Chollapat Itthi-Aree insisted in the high-profile event England's Ed Martin be strip-searched in the toilet after a 'G' tile went mysteriously missing during their match.

The judges ruled in Martin's favour and let the Friday game go ahead with the Englishman controversially winning by just a point.

It is the biggest scandal to hit the event since one player accused another of eating a tile.

The tournament, and the £12,000 prize money, was eventually won by New Zealander Nigel Richards, who beat Aussie Andrew Fisher by taking 95 points with the word 'omnified'.

However, Richards' acceptance speech was much shorter, when he just responded: "Nice."

It was the second time Richards has claimed the title. He also won in 2007. He beat 116 competitors from 44 countries to be named champion at the event in Poland.

  8. I am absolutely distraught....I been giving her 40k a month and when I walk in the go-go bar to pick her up from work she's always just popped down the 7-11 or had to take her friend home who felt sick or something like that so I end up meeting her back at the room around mid-morning the next day normally....

that house you stayed in up in Udon I paid for, that motorbike you rode about on up there is really mine(although her dads names on the book)

oh and that fish you caught from the lake and ate that night......

    was my pet :whistling:

  9. Is there any further information that the OP could perhaps furnish us with to enable me to think this is anything other than a really poor example of trolling?

    sorry for the late reply....

so dont really know what the case is. Probably just gonna Silent snake this one lol.

so you went bareback with an ugly one?

and gave her your email and maybe told her you loved her :ermm:

  10. I'm sure that the CEOs of these establishments are really depressed that a discriminating gentleman such as yourself is boycotting them. :D

    I should worry.

I own shares in a couple of restaurant chains but I dont eat there. Also own shares in Apple but would never own an Apple product. Neither is a boycott: I just think the products are overpriced and above all not to my taste, and so I don't buy them. A boycott is something very different indeed as it involves choosing not to buy something for reasons that are unrelated to its value or quality.

Lots of clowns around that do like those things though, and their cash keeps paying my dividends. :)

the dividends must be so good that you could afford to get 2 pairs of 650baht trainers then?

  11. If you read the article why did you say this in your other post?

the Iranians would have wanted all of them to sow their seed in Poo for the THB500 and then sent Poo on the way....

Instead of just admitting you got the payment part wrong, you jumped on your racist high horse about other aspects of the incident.

oh yeah...I was really on my high horse wasn't I....if you read my original post then you Mr Clever Dick would have read it as....the iranians would have....so really I was just expressing my opinion that whether you consider it to be racist or not is kind of what this whole websites about....seeing as it is known as a forum and all that.

  12. I would have thought Mohammad would have checked the goods on the way back to his room!

So nobody thinks the Iranians have embelished their story from the original 'you said 500 and thats what all 4 of us are willing to pay'

you're all a bit more seasoned than this surely

not all visitors to Pattaya are as "seasoned" as you

you should see me in the fruit&veg section of Tescos squeezing the produce before purchasing...mind you I see a lot of people doing that ;)

  13. I didn't see the part where Poo was told that there was going to be 3 other marmite highway fanciers back at the hotel laying in wait...

and i didn't see the part where Poo told the prospective customer that he had a pecker and balls

  14. a fly on the wall would say this....the Iranian knew exactly what the deal was and what sex Poo is, Poo would have got back to the room and then see the others and would be asking for extra money if Poo was up for it, the Iranians would have wanted all of them to sow their seed in Poo for the THB500 and then sent Poo on the way....

If anyones is to blame then the original Iranian who agreed the deal with Poo should have let Poo know about the other 3 herberts intentions as I dare say Poo was just hoping for 1 on 1, get paid and get out of there....

    swat that fly...

    Did you read the article?

Mr. "Poo", said that, Mr.Mohammad had agreed buy sexual services from him at 500 THB. They went to a hotel. On arrival in the room Mr "Poo" found the Mr.Mohammad's relatives, three Iranian men waiting for him to have sex with him. They were willing to pay additionally 500 THB each.

Mr. "Poo" went to take a shower and suddenly Mr. Mohammad saw that the ladyboy was not a real woman. So he cancelled the sexual services and asked to Mr "Poo" to leave the room. Mr. "Poo" wanted 500 THB for the time he had wasted.

yes I read the article thanks...I didn't see the part where Poo was told that there was going to be 3 other marmite highway fanciers back at the hotel laying in wait...

it's quite a well known bit of gossip that arabs/indians like to eat/rim from the same bowl and have been pulling this stunt for years :whistling:

A possible scenario indeed. But we don't know.

why if he was feeling randy did he take Poo back to a room shared by 3 other men then?
