    Hi,

opportunity to buy a Chevrolet captiva from 2011 with 68km on it. It is cheap and currently we have been renting for nearly 2 years. With at least another year here, maybe 2 then I am thinking this might be worth it instead of renting.

a few years back someone said to me they wouldn’t touch Chevrolets….think it was the time they pulled out of Thailand.

thoughts? Like can you get parts to fix etc here? Thoughts on the car etc?

thanks, we are not car people. We use a car to drive to and from work with the kids everyday. Use it for trips to the beach and travel inside Thailand. Currently renting an mg zs.

Authorized Chevrolet service is still available in Thailand.

  2. Sheryl, there should be one point in your system that your ground is attached to the neutral. I believe this is called bonding.

I have seen cases of fluorescent lights glowing because some "electrician" decided that there should be additional bonding points in other parts of the system.

Normally, the bonding should only occur within the main box and nowhere else in the system.

Multiple bonding points within the same system can cause weird stuff to happen, including glowing fluorescent lights that have already been turned off.

I still remember the last part of the AM radio jingle from back then:

"Honda prices start about two-fifteen ($)

Go little Honda, go little Honda

You meet the nicest people on a Honda."

Anyone else remember that? I would have been about 10 or 11 years old then.

I could walk to the Honda shop in 10 minutes from our house.

$215 was the Super Cub price.

As far as the dealer prices in Thailand, in the last 12 years, I have bought at least 8 new motorbikes or scooters in Thailand, at dealerships, and never paid more than the listed MSRP.

    Paid cash every time.

But none of those bikes were purchased in a large city, other than my last purchase, which was a new Suzuki purchased in downtown Phuket. I also paid MSRP for that one. Maybe because Suzukis are not so popular in Thailand.

Low cost Chinese EV’s will enable mass adoption of EV’s but kill the American auto manufacturing industry but keep consumers happy.

Preventing low cost Chinese EV’s will massively slow the adoption of EV’s, perhaps preventing it for many years, save the American auto manufacturing industry but annoy consumers.

The same applies in the UK and EU.

You have only to look at what is happening in Thailand where there are no barriers to Chinese EV.

    That statement is not correct.
