Here is my Suzuki Raider J Crossover. It is Suzuki’s version of a heavier duty Wave-type bike.
I have modded it a bit with slightly larger wheels/tires and YSS gas shocks on the rear. The fork tubes on this 113cc bike are thicker than on my NMax 155 by 1 mm at 31 mm vs 30 mm.
Notice the proper front end of this bike with actual handlebars that make this bike far more manageable on or off road than any Wave or Wave clone that I have ever ridden. It’s a blast to ride this bike as the handling is very easy and it rides great.
About 57000฿ without the modifications.- 4

I was recently invited to see some weed in a small village located in Nakhon Phanom at a house that had the Mekong river in the back yard. You can easily see Lao.
I am not offering any connections or information to buy.Just wanted to post a few pictures for the brickweed fans of what I saw and sampled there. It was actually much better than it looks. Offered at 3000฿ per kilo, so 3฿ per gram.

Google maps will give you the best route for that moment in time, regardless of what ‘bob’ on AN or any other forums encountered last month or last week etc…
Give your travel day and you may get some solid local advice otherwise the AI of Google maps with its ‘current route conditions’ is the best info you’ll find for such a simple trip.
Best option I’ve found when planning ahead is to check Google maps at the same time / day a week earlier etc…
I’ve done all of that. Thank you.
Just looking for past human experience about this matter.
I already know very well what Garmin and Google suggest.
Computers don’t know everything. -
Thank you guys for suggesting Google Maps. But I would rather hear about actual real-life driving experiences from actual human beings rather than computer recommendations. That’s why I am on this forum.
We stopped at a hotel on 4 this afternoon in Nakhon Pathom near 338 after driving nearly 12 hours today. Leaving out early in the morning to try and miss the traffic. If it is still a mess, then I will try alien365s suggested route on the return trip in a week or so.
850 km today and about 750 km tomorrow. A thousand miles.
Thanks for all the suggestions.- 1

Rama 2 is the main road that I want to avoid.
My Garmin loves to tell me to go that way.
We are leaving Phuket in the morning.
Thanks guys.

Soon I will drive from Phuket to Bueng Kan and back again in a 4 door pickup and would like to do it this time without going too near to Bangkok.
I don't mind driving on highways 2 and 4. It's the BKK mess in between them that I don't like.
Is there an easier way around the west side of BKK without getting into the BKK traffic?

What time of year do they normally release the new aerox? Was looking at getting one, but wasn't sure if the 23-24 model would be out soon and worth waiting.
The 2023 Aerox just appeared on the Thai Yamaha website.

We just drove past the Windmill and it has reopened. Quiet neighborhood very close to Yanui beach.

I did the same conversion in Bueng Kan.
No problem.

You get what you pay for, simple as that!
I still like the bike and plan to repair the deterioration. It’s actually more fun to ride than my NMax.

I bought a new GPX Rock about a year ago. The bike runs OK although my Suzuki will stomp the <deleted> out of it with only a 4cc advantage.
The finish on some parts of the bike are aging quickly. Rusty screws, black finish on mag wheel coming off, rusty chrome on exhaust shield. Very poor paint on swingarm, etc.
I had a cheap Keeway 200 for 5 years that had none of these premature aging problems.
My 6 year old NMax has very few signs of corrosion or premature aging.
I don't coddle my bikes, but they are always kept under a roof and do not sit out in the direct weather. Only occasionally ridden in the rain.
A one year old bike should not show this kind of deterioration.

Off to do some research on the Burgman, Thanks again for the advice gents.
Go look at the Burgman 400 in person. It is quite impressive.

Never seen a Kymco in Thailand.
Suzuki is selling the Burgman 400 in Thailand for 239000฿.
Sym Thailand sells 300, 400, and 600cc scooters.

Walked past again this morning and the Windmill is still closed but it looks like the garden and parking areas have been cleaned up. Also, I just heard that they are looking for workers for a reopening.

you are not carrying a lot so you should have no balance problem.
I carry around 30kg or so,tent, sleeping bag, mattress and food and water.
I considered buying a new bike also this year but the CT125 is too expensive
for me and the Suzuki J crossover took too long to become available.
The Suzuki Raider J Crossover would make a good base for this kind of light-adventure touring. I bought the first one in Phuket and did a few modifications by replacing the rims, tires (Michelin Anakee Street), shocks (YSS gas shocks), and adding a rack and box. It comes with 31mm front fork tubes. NMax fork tubes are only 30mm. The wide handlebars give lots of leverage for tight handling. This seems to be Suzuki's idea of a heavier-duty street scrambler version of the Wave class of bikes. I ride it mostly on the road here in south Phuket where we have a good amount of twisty, tight roads. I have owned over 40 motorbikes/cycles in my lifetime and I don't remember any that were as much fun as my new Suzuki Raider J Crossover. 56900฿ before modifications.

Thanx to all, based on your experiences, I think I'll just wait and purchase locally, I was wanting to buy a good quality bike in US and carry it with me.........there is a possibility I can arrange shipment of the bike & battery via commercial means. Will update when I get the information and post. Thanx again Peace
