Well i suppose i cant blame them as they have 3 small children but i have friends that have just told me due to the NEWS they feel it unsafe to come here now,. Another couple have also cancelled,.seems a shame as i feel this will blow over well before they were due to come, but after reading the newspapers in the uk i can see their concern, .any of you had similar happen ?
I have had 7 people contact me via my website asking if they should come - it appears the media in the UK is painting a picture of widespread violence !!! I have emailed the Daily Mail and Times and pointed out they are sensationalising events for what ??

Can confirm this is a problem for me too. Using True in central Bangkok. Can view but cannot update or view comments already left.
I just rechecked - I can view, update, moderate, post, delete comments etc etc. ?????????

Its nothing to do with True, its the international backbone in place for domestic use - CAT are so slow to upgrade it, or they don't want to. I think the latter is probably correct.
Their warped thinking may be 'why should they spend millions of baht upgrading something for a load of farang ! '
Maybe they think the Thais just use sanook.com !!!

Does anyone here use blogspot.com? I've had problems signing in since 1 September, and I'm wondering whether it has anything to do with our current little local difficulty, or whether it's a Google problem, (Blogspot is run by Google).
I can open blogs, but I cannot update my own, because I can't sign in. Also cannot leave comments on others. Tried different computers in Bangkok, same problem.
Your experiences welcome.
No problems here in Bangkok. I can login to blogspot as normal, add comments etc.

Very fast, shame it does not render text as well as ie7.
As for CSS issues, I haven't found any yet, but I am sure there will be some
If it had the google toolbar as standard, and no facility to remove it, I would have immediately uninstalled !!

Hi All,
I have been closely watching developments within Thailand and Samui, and I have to say I'm a little worried. I am scheduled to fly to Bangkok today. Arriving around midnight on Sept. 3. Then leaving for Samui at 6 am on Bangkok Airways. This thread about yellow gangs after falangs does not make me feel totally comfortable. Now I understand most of the risks involved here, but what can I expect in and around Chaweng? Thanks for any insight. Cheers.
Personally speaking, I wouldn't worry. You might be delayed in getting to Samui but put it all down to your holiday in 'Amazing Thailand' As for 'gangs going after farang' it is a myth as far as I am concerned. Don't talk about the troubles, don't get involved and you will be fine. I live in BKK, well away from Govt House, and have seen nothing but life as usual.
My wifes sister travelled here by road from a nearby province, and got here fine in record time ! No police checks, nothing out of the ordinary.

I can only assume that noise from the neighbour and his drinking friends has a lot to do with this. I cannot understand how people have little or no respect for their neighbours. But of course I could be wrong.

Its funny how this slow down started on 1st August. Maybe TOT owes someone some money and had til the end of July to pay it or service would be curtailed

and its still the same now.....

Yep, I am in Bangkok using TOT, the problem is the international connectivity. I have 8kb/s download speed from London and the USA. My upload speed is 50 kb/s. Its been like this for about 2 hours now.

Hey people - dont worry - you have more chance of death being run down on the streets of Bangkok by a bus or taxi. Followed by catching HIV from a bar girl !! If you live elsewhere I have no idea
