It appears to me that very few of the people stranded at Swampy can think for themselves. They come from an overly nanny state ( The UK ) and expect everything for nothing and immediately. Wake up time !
Oh I am a Brit by the way.

If you restore a file/folder from the recycle bin it will go back to the place it was deleted from.
ie. If it was on your desktop it will go back there, or if it was in 'my documents' that is where it will go.
An easy way to find the images is to search for all images on the hard drive and look at them.

two places
second, take ten minute taxi ride(60-65 baht) to sukumvit 101 take a left and on the left handside when you reach soi 25 take a left. about 150 yards down on your right hand side is a great little place, a bit out the way but frequented by a lot of thais. excellent food, all thai but well worth the visit. fresh seafood, som tam, b.b.qed dishes, north eastern isaan specials and well known favourites.
Err - that's a residential street with no sniff of a restaurant. Looking at the map later after our abortive trip I see there is a Sukhumvit 101/1 - did you mean that?
You are not alone - I couldn't find Hannibal's Sarranuch Hotel either when I drove through to the back of the market that I believe to be On Nut soi 3. I'll give that one another reccy on foot in the daylight. Hannibal the market in the back is a square right? when you approach that square on the left side (the only way to drive into it along soi 3) which way do you go - straight ahead (a small road that wends a wiggly way towards the Klong through residences, left into what appears to be the market trader's car park or right along the row of shophouses at the back of the market?
Thanks for the several recommendations of the Beef BBQ place (next to soi Sukhumvit 48/1 or 48/2 with a car park accessible form town-bound side of Sukhumvit). Excellent BBQ place for far more than beef - but the various cust of beef were very good.
I can assure you that the Sarranuch does exist - I nearly took a room there. Don't drive there, walk ! Its at the back of the market on the left - through a small car parking area.
As an aside you could always walk up soi on nut ( 77 ) away from Sukhumvit Road to Lumpini Condos ( 10 minute walk from Carrefour ) - there are a few restaurants in there, if you want Western food try Chor Chaba. But wait until after songkran as most are shutting from now for 4 days.

Cotact the owner of the website linking to yours and ask that the links are removed from his/ her site. Apart from that there is not a lot you can do.

Just a thought. Not wanting to pry but who pays the funds into Barclays ? Can they not pay direct to Thailand instead ?

I played it for a year or so - but it started taking up too much time - so I reluctantly binned it

LOL the data will be used in line with the Data Protection Act . That really makes me laugh. British government agencies are renowned for breaching the act by their negligence.

This could have happened in most countries in Europe - live sex shows are not unique to Thailand. I went to one in Germany when I was 16 and that was in 1976. Whats all the fuss about !

I would reiterate what Britmaverick says. Its not just farangs who have no rights its the normal Thai person as well.
You must discard all thoughts of western policing methods ( and the policing in more advanced Asian countries ) as soon as you get off the plane at BKK ! Over here it is the luck of the draw as to what officer you come into contact with.....

I finally managed to talk to someone at TOT who appeared to have a modicum of sense about them.
They reported that they are currently upgrading the "service" nation wide and there will be occasional blackouts as a result. I pointed out that it would have been useful to let the customers know, but all I got was "how?" Good point I guess. When asked how long this debacle would take the line went very quiet.
I'd like to be, under the sea, in an octopuss' garden in the shade lalalallala
I would take it that TOT mean they are upgrading the National network which means you will have great connectivity to www.sanook.com !! Don't hold your breath regarding an improved international gateway !

I quite often pay my MEA bill a bit late ( normally 5 days after the payment date ) - and have never paid a late payment fee. In fact the last time I paid late was last week !
If they disconnect your supply and you want it reconnected thats a different matter - then I would think there is a fee but do not know for sure.

If I could get a ticket BKK - LHR for less than 200 gbp return I would be more than happy with a 15 hrs stop over or even longer !

If you are using a pirated copy of windows your system is wide open.... and WILL be compromised, no matter what firewall or anti virus software you use. Is it worth it ?
-
This is very strange. I am with TOT, use their DNS, and have never seen references to mict in the status bar or redirects to their warning page. I do not try porn or gambling sites so maybe once you do try, your account at the isp is flagged, and you get redirects/ checked by mict. That is just a thought - nothing more.

Same as any 'news' outlet - very little positive stuff, bad news sells.
For TV bad news = more page hits=higher number of clicks on ads. Therefore it is encouraged.
The constant bickering gets me. I try to keep out of it.

My TG partner is of the opinion that men need variety and will go and get it anyway whether she agrees or not. Therefore she just places conditions on it ! We are not married, and never will be as I will not fall into that trap... ( again )

Theres a shop in Sukhumvit soi 48/1 thats sells them. The soi is a 10 minute walk from Phra Khanong BTS station. Not sure if they would sell you one without going out the back and paying over the odds.

Family and friends are at the top of the list. Farang, husband or not, is at the bottom. When you were in the UK she only had the phone.... now its easy .

There is a vegetarian restaurant in Suk Soi 22. I have never been so cannot comment on it. Its located on the right, going down the soi from Suk Road, in a small square. I forget the name.

Bartlett - did you see the comments about the 'lay' response to this fire on the blog at the the link I posted a couple of posts before this one ?

Yep saw it on the Thai news as well. I wonder if the Bangkok Post will pick up on it ? Apparently happened on 12th August.

Cutting down is the best option for me. I tried the gym 3 times a week for 2 months - with a slight reduction in alcohol intake. My weight stayed about the same.
I more or less cut out alcohol for one month and my weight dropped 5 kg, and my belly visibly reduced in size - and thats without going to the gym.
For most people, if you don't want the gut don't drink the beer to excess !!
I state 'most' people because we all know a few guys who are over 40, drink alcohol like a fish and remain slim !! Am I jealous or what ! ??

It appears to me that the reverse is true - I am having the worst international speeds for ages.
Should You Really Be Here On A Budget?

Living in Thailand on a low budget is going to be harder than ever - inflation is going to rise rapidly as the problems persist.
