I hope that those of you that are so quick to rush to judgment on unsubstantiated allegations just because you don't like Trump never find yourself in the position where your falsely accused because you'll get precious little sympathy

Thank you for proving that western education on Israel is woefully inadequate.

At least they're not smoking!

Maybe if they stopped putting an LPG tank right at the front and another right at the back they might not burst into flames so easily. Better still ban putting gas tanks on them completely.

So that's what it was. I heard it but I didn't see it. I live close by.

I am starting to get a bit concerned about SCB bank. Yesterday I tried to use the cardless atm and all went well until I pressed confirm at which point it said "communication error please try again later" and no cash came out. A moment later I got a message to say that the cardless atm was used successfully and the money was deducted from my account. I went into the bank and spoke to the call centre and they said they had been having trouble with the system and, finally, agreed that yes they do owe me the money and they'd pay it back "within 15 minutes". That was yesterday, 24 hours later it still hasn't been paid back - so I contacted the call centre and now they said they CAN'T pay it back until further notice as they are having trouble. Does anyone know what's going on?

I have worked in a lot of countries (even the old USSR) and after Thailand I think Malta (in the 1980s) was my favourite. The worst places were Saudi, Libya and Spain (boring - full of retirees drinking themselves to death). California was wonderful in the 70s but not now, someone once described it as 'Slough trading estate with palm trees'. I still, after 8 years, love Thailand.

It should be closed and its funds given to the underfunded public hospitals. It was never meant to suceed in the stated objectives of reducing tobacco and alcohol consumption - its funding method proves that. If it is successful then its funding wiuld be reduced and so that's a no-no. It was set up as a figleaf to disguise the fact that the government derives a significant chunk of its revenues from alcohol and tobacco taxes. And as for taking on the giants of the tobacco industry, very funny when you consider that tobacco is sold through a government owned tobacco monopoly.

So what exactly have they achieved for the 4 billion/p.a they never had to account for?

If Thaihealth are going to use funds from tobacco and booze to stop people smoking and drinking then its not in their best interests to be successful.

I don't know why he bothers nobody believes the result of these sham 'elections'

On the other hand they could privatise them whilst keeping a 'golden share', create an overseeing board of public servants to make sure they don't rip off the public and create a sovereign wealth fund for emergencies.

Maybe they should change the law so no school can open near a bar.
in the UK we have student union bars on campuses that produced Newton, Rutherford, Appleton, Fleming and Hawkins.
Thailand has no bars and has produced...

Would you still feel sorry for him if any of your family died because they were using drugs supplied by a dealer? The thing with crime, and this includes drug dealing, is that nobody ever expects to get caught.
No matter what, this is excessive punishment. I don't know how long he will actually spend in jail, I suspect he could get transferred to a UK jail within 5 years, but the punishment here does not fit the crime.
British guys in Thai jails have a harder time than many other nationalities as they get no support from the UK government. There are charities that can help, but basically he will need to depend on help from friends and family outside for even basics like food and basic medicine etc.
Much as I dislike drug dealing, I feel sorry for this guy.
If there was no drug dealers, almost every type of crime would be reduced.
and AJAYDEE, you cannot say that bartenders can be compared with drug dealers, alcohol is not a drug if drunk in moderation.

5 things Thai People Invented
http://www.livingthai.org/5-things-thai-people-invented.html
Tuk-tuks were invented in Japan and used by the Japanese post office. When thet retired them they donated them to Thailand where they've been copied ever since. Mind you there is ONE global brand that orjginated in Thailand - Red Bull.
(spoiler alert - one of the inventions is "The Jet Ski Scam!")
Yeah, these kinds of innovations will put Thailand at the forefront of the laugh factory!

Kagan, Sotomayer and Bader Ginsberg are not political? Bader Ginsberg admitted she was political at her nomination hearing. And you think it is ok to trash a person's life because you don't like their politics. People like you are beneath contempt.
