the documents.has told the office that they sent it to him by post and its now lost ,and can he get a replacement ,they said no ,but did insure it for him ,anybody out there with some options

for him to try,he does'nt really want to sell the car ,he's just a bit pissed off with the money grabbing family ...

  2. Where is the department where complaints can be made against the police?

The chief or deputy chief of your local public prosecutor's office.

Whilst this is good news, it is a shame that it happened in the first place. All they got from the 2 guys that had got nabbed in the sting was a name? No phone number, address, description? Also I notice the police mistake was due to some registry's mistake, so it wasn't the police's fault!

Not sure from the OP, but was this compensation for wrongful arrest (i.e. the detainment is a separate issue?). The OP says the money "would be spent on legal counselling over his detention". The legal counselling whilst he was in jail or future legal counselling to sue the police?

This poor guy spent 23 days in prison with no good reason - he deserves a payout. There's a member on here (who I know in the real world) who spent well over a year in prison before the judge threw the case out due to lack of evidence. I'm not sure if he got anything, but he never mentioned any payment for wrongful imprisonment and I never saw any acceptance of fault from the DSI for their trumped-up charges on him.

that same guy had to pay 20000b overstay as while he was in jail his visa expired ...........

Now wait a minute... the bank notes could be authentic!?!?!?!?

They don't have the ability in Phuket to determine counterfit bank notes???

Posted 300,000 Baht, how and where and why would he have been cashing in British Bank notes??

All very curious... but then TIT... maybe some things are lost in translation...

maybe he had already done 5grand in bkk airport before going to phuket...

  5. chelsea in decline ? they are only 4 points off the pace,if they beat liverpool on the 1st of feb they are only 1 behind ,dont right them off just yet ,after the weekends terrible performance they will have something to prove next time out ..

  6. I actually spent a bit of time speaking to a SNAKEMAN in Alice Springs Australia....he has a snake musuem. He explained alot of things about snakes & sometimes I think we misunderstand them a little.

Sad thing is though, sometimes you just can't risk being bitten just to try and save one. I'm not exactly sure how dangerous the King Cobra is to man, but I was told it could be deadly depending on the bite.

My next worry is, how did he get inside? :o

i'd be worryed where his mum was ........

  7. with respect to all those hard working investors who have put time and money into their businesses there , samui may just be starting to pay the price for the many years of tourists being treated like cash cows rather than being welcomed as visitors to that island.

the appaling road system , the blatant overcharging at almost every opportunity and last but not least the attitude of so many of the thais there towards visitors all have an effect on visitors memories and of their wish to return.

visually , once you step outside your resort/hotel , the place is just one big eyesore.

the island has a reputation now.

with so many other much better run and better value destinations available to try in this region , samui has almost become a "cliche" destination , like benidorm did , it shines brightly for a few years , and then slowly becomes boring , uncool , no fun , a place to avoid.

spot on 100% on the money ,good post.
